Olympic gymnast John Orozco is determined to make 2016 his best year yet. A medal-less performance at the 2012 London Olympics and months of grueling rehab for a torn Achilles heel haven't deterred the 23-year-old from chasing gold in Rio - he's working harder than ever in preparation for the Games this summer. But the extra hours Orozco puts in at the gym aren't just for himself. He trains to honor his mother, who died suddenly in 2015. "It's a new me," Orozco tells People. "I've changed as an athlete and as a person and I hope it shows through my gymnastics, that's...

Christina Grimmie may have made it to the final three on The Voice before tragically dying at the hands of a deranged fan over the weekend, but the majority of her fans will forever remember the 22-year-old as a YouTube sensation who blew viewers away with her breathtaking song covers years before finding fame on the NBC singing competition, where she served as Adam Levine's mentee.
In honor of Grimmie's life and talent, we've rounded up her most memorable covers – from Adele to Justin Bieber – that showed the star's range as an artist as well as her undeniable charisma.

In weird pairings you thought you didn't need: Eminem and Gwen Stefani on Thursday hopped into a time machine set for the early aughts to whip up a new single, "Kings Never Die." The Southpaw song is as poppy as it is rappy — why, yes, that is Em sing-rapping! It almost has a Gym Class Heroes, or even Fall Out Boy, feel to it, thanks to the guitar-heavy spitting. (Who knows, maybe Em is thinking about forming a band?) The track also does a very, very good job of kvetching about the internet and sounding grumpy, all while making it clear Gwen and Em are still musical kings. It's a good time, but it's a weird, nostalgic good time. Aside from the interesting sound, it's fairly classic Em: lyrical intensity; complex, staccato rhymes; and a syncopated but unrelenting flow. (King alert, king alert.) The rapper has been heavily involved...

Adam Levine turns 35 today! Before landing a coaching gig on "The Voice," the sexy singer got his big break in 2002 when he and his Maroon 5 band mates released their first single, "Harder to Breathe." After sky-rocketing to fame, the band went on to win three Grammys and release three more albums. Although Adam has collaborated with several artists, such as Kanye West, the Ying-Yang Twins, and Gym Class Heroes, the Maroon 5 front man has stated he doesn't plan on launching a solo career. Adam joined the cast of the NBC singing series in 2011 -- and lead Team Adam to victory last season. If being a singer and celebrity judge wasn't already enough, the vocalist also decided to dabble in acting. He appeared as a recurring character in "American Horror Story: Asylum." In 2012, Adam began dating Victoria’s Secret model, Behati Prinsloo. The couple broke up in March 2013, but...

The Jersey Shore became more than a place on the East Coast when MTV turned it into a television show about a bunch of meatballs getting drunk and acting crazy all over it. "Jersey Shore" became a cultural phenomenon forever tied to the landmarks of the Garden State. So it was completely fitting that the cast of "Jersey Shore" came together after Hurricane Sandy for "Restore the Shore," a telethon to benefit their beloved home.

"Hitmaker" -- a term that's often thrown around loosely -- seems like the right label for Benny Blanco. The multi-platinum songwriter and producer's resume boasts a staggering 13 No. 1 singles, a tally even more impressive given that the man behind "California Gurls," "Teenage Dream," "Dynamite," "Tik Tok" and "Moves Like Jagger" is 24 years young.
And Blanco's star is about to get bigger: As a co-producer on Rihanna's lead single "Diamonds" (off the soon-to-be-released album, "Unapologetic") and Ke$ha's "Die Young," he currently has two songs in the top ten on Billboard's singles chart.
By working with the likes of Dr. Luke and Stargate (the latter of whom he collaborated with for "Diamonds"), Blanco has aligned himself with the top producers of the current generation of pop music. In spite -- or, perhaps, because -- of its incorporation of genres as diverse as hip-hop, country, dance and world music, pop music...

The last audition of the night on "X Factor" was Daryl Black, a father of five who totally did not look old enough at all to have the two teenaged kids backstage with his wife. Goodness. Anyway, he sang "Stereo Hearts" by Gym Class Heroes and while it was good, we were pretty surprised at how much praise the judges heaped on him.
Don't get us wrong, he's talented. But it didn't blow us away, while Simon Cowell says Daryl reminds him of Nat King Cole, which is high praise indeed. And Britney adds, "I think you took over and commanded the stage. Your voice was very smooth."
Daryl got through with four yes votes. What did you think, "X Factor" fans? Are we being too harsh? We just weren't wow'd.

Tonight kicked off The X Factor’s final week of auditions, in which the judges’ panel headed east to Providence, Road Island in their quest for talent.
Starting off the night was a pair of men by the names of Adonis and John, also known to only themselves as “Original Greeks.” This seemingly confident duo declared that they would be singing Lionel Ritchie’s “Hello,” which seemed like a unique choice. Unfortunately, Adonis lacked the singing skills to back up John’s random “yeah” that was thrown in here and there in an attempt to put a rap spin on the song. With a lot of laughter and even a few “yeahs” of their own, the judges gave four solid no’s to the pair.

Wednesday night’s X Factor ended with the image of a 13-year-old boy collapsed in a heap in his mother’s lap, a flurry of producers and medics trying to figure out if he’d live or if he’d eventually die of embarrassment at the hands of Simon Cowell.
I’m not sure if the incident was a clever indictment of the lengths today’s youth will go to for a chance at fame, or just a happy (medical) accident that the show’s producers cynically used to fill out yet another two-hour audition episode. Maybe it was both.

In addition to the full list of nominees, r&b siren Alicia Keys and Brit boy band One Direction have been confirmed to be performing at the ceremony, which is currently without a host. So, yeah, John Orozco is the righting national champion, ranked fourth to compete in the All-Around Men’s Gymnastics competition at the Olympics on Wednesday and helped bring his team to the top of the rankings for tonight’s team competition. But that’s not really why we can’t take our eyes off the 19-year-old gymnast from the Bronx. As much as we loved his vault during the qualifying round on Saturday night, here are five reasons we’re really drawn to Orozco.
1. He’s Still Johnny From The Block
Despite the fact that he grew up being teased in his Puerto Rican Bronx neighborhood, he’s not turning his back on his roots. And he still looks and acts like a typical New York teenager, not some cookie-cutter Olympian.
2. This Smile Is Infectious
It must wipe any potential faults clean off the mind of the judges.
3. He Inspires...

You might be the world's biggest Olympics fan, with plans to slip into your Michael Phelps pajamas and eat British food while you watch round-the-clock coverage of the upcoming London games. You may have memorized every storyline, every rivalry, every favorite and underdog determined to take home the gold.
But according to the Olympians themselves, there's still plenty you don't know about them. Recently, they opened up on the top-secret hobbies, fears and second careers that show there's much more to them than meets the eye.
Betsey Armstrong is a Water Polo whiz, having won the silver medal at the Beijing Summer Games in 2008. But according to her, it's an unlikely hobby that helps her reach such heights. "You might be surprised to know that I am an avid yoga attendee," she revealed.

The 2012 London Olympics are almost here, and what better way to celebrate than to create the ultimate Team USA playlist?
We asked for your suggestions, and you answered. There was an overwhelming response from our readers in support of David Cook's inspirational track "We Believe," while Whitney Houston's "One Moment in Time" and Gloria Estefan's "Reach" were two go-to Olympic classics. Also making the cut were Gym Class Heroes and Ryan Tedder's' 2012 jam, "The Fighter," and Bryan Adams' aptly titled "We're Gonna Win."
Take a look at HuffPost Entertainment's Spotify Team USA playlist below (click a song to hear it through Spotify). Note: If you hate this playlist, you have no one to blame but yourself.

When Manhattan sanitation worker William Orozco signed up his 7-year-old son John for free inner-city gymnastics lessons back in 2000, he had no idea that he had an Olympian on his hands. Today, 12 years and countless hours of training later, John Orozco, 19, is one of this summer's most compelling rising stars - and a gold medal favorite for the USA in gymnastics. Orozco's journey to London hasn't been the easiest. Growing up in a blue-collar section of the Bronx, Orozco had more than homework and gym practice to juggle: He also had to avoid fights with local lawbreakers. But despite his...

The theme for the week made me think of the Lady Gaga episode from season 1 of Glee, and what do you know, "Theatricality" is actually the title of that episode. Which makes sense, because you have to be a little dramatic to pull off her ridiculous outfits. And as it turns it out, someone had to face that challenge this week.
Homework Assignment: “I Hope I Get It” from A Chorus Line
Usually the homework assignments are a hot mess, making me feel bad for the guest mentor who has to smile and pretend that they enjoyed it, but I actually really liked this one. Maybe it’s because the contestants are basically in the same position as the characters in A Chorus Line. I think the song was one they could all relate to, and it wasn’t too over the top. Grant Gustin was the mentor, but he...

Your regular recapper is on vacation, so your friendly neighborhood Tiger Cub is stepping in.
This was a week for weird dresses, lots of make-up, gender-bending and (of course) buckets of tears. I really hope that Dasani is one of their sponsors, otherwise these weepy kids will dehydrate.
Here we go with the highlights for this week’s theme, “Theatricality.”
Warning: Spoilers (and snark) Ahead!
Lily is over the moon to learn this week’s theme. She immediately declares herself the High Queen and starts bossing everyone around, choreographing the Homework Assignment number and ignoring the mutinous looks around her. Grant Gustin shows up, because when you think of theatricality he’s the last tenth er, a guy you may think of.
The number is “I hope I get it” from A Chorus Line. This is a pretty meta song for this show, really, but they at least own that.

It's "Theatricality" week on The Glee Project. You know who would be perfect for this? Charlie. You know who went home last week? Charlie. Without him, there are only three men left standing in the final eight contenders.
Can they hang tough? Here's hoping.
As the competition heats up, Blake and Michael, who've become great friends, find that it's difficult to compete with each other. Now that Charlie's gone, Aylin is more determined than ever to win.
The mood in the house is very subdued in Charlie's absence. Robert manages, however, to get an excited response when he tells them they'll be singing "I Hope I Get It" from A Chorus Line.
Lily takes over during their rehearsal and completely annoys Aylin.
Grant Gustin, Sebastian himself, is this weeks' guest mentor. Having gotten his start in West Side Story, he's a great one to judge this week.

Viewers are used to the whole singing reality show rundown at this point: A bunch of people sing, some get sent home in tears and one competitor comes out victorious. But new series "Opening Act" is singing a different tune with a format in which the artists are all winners from the get-go and no one goes home defeated.
Producer Nigel Lythgoe and a posse of industry vets like Martina McBride, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, and Jason Derulo handpick unknown singers, songwriters and musicians from the internet to open for a major act like Nicki Minaj, Rod Stewart, Brad Paisley and Gym Class Heroes. Comedian Olivia Lee plays host and fairy godmother of sorts to the unsuspecting performers, surprising them with the good news.
Wentz and Lee tell Zap2it just what it's like to give these up-and-comers their big break.

Katy Perry’s 3-D extravaganza Part of Me hit theaters this week. Obvious self-reflective implications aside, it’s strange that Perry chose this title from her collection because it’s lyrically the least Katy Perry-ish song in her repertoire. “Part of Me” foregoes the whipped-cream-and-rainbows sensibility that so perplexes (and captivates) my colleague Annie Barrett. It speaks of overcoming adversity and seeks self-empowerment. It’s also a hit job.

Hey I just wrote it and this is crazy, but here’s the Chart News, so read it maybe.
Quick Overview – If you’re unfamiliar with the Billboard chart over in the USA, you’ll soon realise that there’s very little movement and even less changes at the top. Therefore it’s no surprise that Carly Rae Jepsen is still giving strangers her number for the 3rd week running. On the completely opposite end of the chart spectrum (and the opposite side of the world), the Australian Aria charts are All movement this wekk. Out goes The Voice entries (except Karise Eden’s winner’s single at #5) and up up up goes everything else with a top 10 consisting of 9 climbers and 1 non-mover. The victor in all this? Flo Rida and his Whistle blowing instruction manual – go figure… For the UK charts, it’s a mixed bag. New entries at #1 and #3 for Will.

The charts. 95% of artists would like to be on them, the other 5% say they don’t but secretly yearn for a shot at the bigtime. The charts represent what the public are buying right now and what their tastes are at the moment (or at least what’s had the most hype/promotion/radio play). Here (and hopefully for every week from now on) are the top 10 singles’s of the 3 major English-speaking chart markets – the USA, UK and Australia. Plus, as an added bonus, I’ll be giving you a run-down of all the number ones everywhere else plus a music video of one of the ones you’ve probably never heard of on that list. Bonus. So have a gander at what the world thinks is prime musical pie…
