George Washington apparently has nothin’ on President Donald Trump.
During his Youngstown, Ohio, rally on Tuesday evening, Trump told his gathered supporters that, “With the exception of the late, great Abraham Lincoln, I can be more presidential than any president that’s ever held this office.”
The president also attempted to make a convoluted joke about being on Mount Rushmore, stating that if he said it even as a joke the media would take it seriously: “Now here’s what I do. I’d ask whether or not you someday think I will be on Mount Rushmore. But here’s the problem,...

With a line-up that already packs a punch, Sundance will also include a new section simply called “Special Events” which is described as “one-of-a-kind moments highlighting new independent works that add to the unique Festival experience. An evolving section, this year includes episodic work, short films and live performance.” In what promises to be a I can’t believe I’m watching what I’m watching type event, the one item that has caught our attention is Andrew Jarecki delving back into a subject heading he is familiar with in All Good Things moving forward into the HBO series, The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst (six-part documentary). This story first appeared in the Aug. 23 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. A year ago, agent Arn Tellem teamed with hedge-fund billionaire Steve Cohen in a bid to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers. Had they succeeded, Tellem likely would have had to leave his powerful post as vice chairman of Wasserman Media Group, where he oversees a huge roster of basketball and baseball players including Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol. But he viewed the Dodgers as a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" that had to be pursued. Tellem, 59, remains disappointed that the team instead was sold to

The Steven Seagal-organized delegation to visit Russia and investigate those involved in the Boston Marathon bombings finally took place. Though the Congressional group didn't make it to Chechnya, Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.), Steve King (R-Iowa), Paul Cook (R-Calif.) and Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) headed to Moscow to investigate the bombings.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that the visit revealed any new information about bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev. "There is nothing specific that could've been done that we can point to that, had it been done differently, would've prevented this," Rohrabacher, the delegation's leader, says at a Moscow news conference.
According to him, Seagal's involvement was a beneficial asset to the team. "We are very appreciative of the help he has given this congressional delegation to make sure we accomplished our mission," Rohrabacher says. "I don't know if [Deputy Prime Ministers Dmitri Rogozin] would have been available to us without Steven actually suggesting that he do that.

Steven Seagal is closer with Chechnya than many people might have expected. The actor reportedly tried to negotiate a congressional trip to Russia to help the investigation of April's Boston Marathon bombing.
The trip was officially called Codel, and would have brought members of Congress including Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.), Steve King (R-Iowa), Paul Cook (R-Calif.) and Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) to Russia. According to Politico, the lawmakers pulled out at the last minute over concerns about traveling to Chechnya.
"The Codel's visit to Chechnya was facilitated by Steven Seagal. He has an established friendship with Putin and others in the Russian government and assisted in accommodating the Codel's request to visit the region," a spokeswoman for Rohrabacher tells the site.

Talk about a post-modern paternity story.
During Tuesday's (Feb. 12) State of the Union address, Congressman Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) was exchanging tweets with a young woman whom has now been revealed to be his daughter.
Cohen held a press conference Friday in his office where he identified the young woman as Victoria Brink, whose existence he discovered three years ago.
"I googled her mother, found out she had a child and the math looked pretty accurate. The mom told me we had a lot of catching up to do," says Cohen. The girl's mother is an old girlfriend of Cohen's.
"When [Victoria] let me know she was watching the State of the Union address, I was thrilled that she wanted Steve Cohen to be part of her. I had such joy, that I couldn't hold back from tweeting her," says Cohen.

Silicon Valley gadabout and fencing enthusiast Mark Zuckerberg has fallen 22 spots in Forbes’ annual list of the Richest People in America. This time last year, the Facebook founder was sitting pretty at number 14, with a net worth of $17.5 billion. In the new list, however, Zuckerberg’s net worth is listed at a measly $9.4 billion, where he’s forced to rub shoulders with blue-collar average nobodies like Steve Cohen and Charles Ergen. Adding further insult to injury, Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page — Zuckerberg’s sworn enemies, presumably — have added almost $4 billion to their respective coffers and are currently tied for 13th place.

The New York Mets organization isn't exactly known for its exquisite taste in financial partners. This is a franchise, after all, that recently settled a lawsuit stemming from its association with Bernard L. Madoff for $162 million. So it was amusing when Michelle Malkin and other right-wing commentators reacted to the news that comedian Bill Maher had purchased a minority stake in the team with the kind of moral indignation they normally reserve for things like taxes, or efforts to remove the Ten Commandments from suburban courtrooms.
Naturally, nobody found the spectacle more amusing than the new owner himself, who has been known to ridicule the right on his HBO political-comedy series, "Real Time With Bill Maher." "You know they saw this yesterday and went, 'Bill Maher? Owns part of a baseball team? Aaaargghh!'" Maher told The Huffington Post. "And then they had to figure out why they were mad.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Fox Sports late Tuesday settled their legal feud over the sale of the bankrupt team’s broadcast rights after the 2013 season. The Dodgers agreed to abide by their current contract with Fox and won’t attempt to auction future rights before Fox’s exclusive negotiating period ends November 30. In exchange, Fox agreed to drop litigation against the Dodgers. The settlement removes uncertainty and will allow the Dodgers to be sold by April 30 under a deal owner Frank McCourt previously reached with Major League Baseball. Initial bids are due January 23. Potential buyers include Joe Torre, La area developer Rick Caruso, Orel Hershiser, Magic Johnson, Steve Garvey, Peter O’Malley, Fred Claire, Andy Dolich, Steve Cohen of the hedge fund Sac Capital Advisors, Stan Kasten, Guggenheim Partners CEO Mark Walter, Larry King, Jason Reese of Imperial Capital and the family of the late Roy E. Disney.

Is Steve Cohen the embodiment of all that’s wrong with Wall Street—complete with $12 billion hedge fund, gigantic Greenwich mansion, world-class art collection, litigious ex-wife, and rumors of insider information? Or is he just a brilliant stock forecaster with a bad back, a bad temper, and really bad P.R.? Scoring one of only two published interviews Sac’s billionaire C.E.O. has given in his 30-year career, Bryan Burrough digs into Cohen’s Rain Man–like gift for reading the stock ticker, his reputation, and his suggestion that he may just walk away from it all.

How a home-soda-maker company is rocking the beverage world.
When Nike executive Daniel Birnbaum became CEO of the sleepy 104-year-old SodaStream International in 2007, his kids were less than thrilled. "My 12-year-old was in tears. Nike was part of his identity," says Birnbaum, a Queens, New York, native. "Here I was going to this company that people did not know existed, and it was not exactly the most proud place to work." Birnbaum has since transformed the "aerating liquid apparatus" company into a sexy soda-maker brand taking over granite countertops across the globe. After a year in which the Israel-based company surpassed $150 million in revenue, gained distribution in 4,000 U.S. retail stores, and had a hot Ipo, Fast Company talked to Birnbaum about saving energy, why Coke and Pepsi should be nervous, and actress Tori Spelling's (water) drinking problem.

The fight for a smoke-free America continues -- 35 states have some form of a smoking ban -- but not everyone can breathe easier. To craft the perfect piece of jewelry, sometimes you have to journey to the ends of the earth. Designer Monique Péan realized this on a 2007 trip to Shishmaref, Alaska, a community south of the Arctic Circle where the land is slowly sinking into the water. After traveling to the village by sled, Péan worked with native artisans to find fossilized walrus ivory and woolly-mammoth bone that they then carved by hand. The materials have since become her calling card, used throughout her work. This season's collection, inspired by the waters of French Polynesia and the art of Paul Gauguin, features stunning pieces like the Nihiru necklace. It carries a hefty price tag of $13,015, but there's no guilt associated with the splurge. In addition to fossilized woolly-mammoth bone, the necklace features 18-karat recycled rose gold, white diamonds found through fair-trade mining, and smoky topaz. "My aim is...

We may be used to seeing TV shows - whether they be comedies or dramas - based in newspaper offices. But none, as far as I recall, has ever centred on the obituaries desk.
So a proposed Us series, called Circling the Drain, is certainly breaking new ground. It involves a 25-year-old reporter (played by Caprica's Alessandra Torresani) who is reassigned from a paper's style section to its obits desk.
Circling the drain, a slang euphemism for clinging on to life, is being developed by the production company, Tornante, owned by former Disney chief Michael Eisner.
Tornante's head of development Steve Cohen says Eisner "loved the idea of a young girl who is starting out life writing about death against the backdrop of an industry that may also be circling the drain."

He earned a CableACE award in 1984 for an episode of "Paper Chase" and received DGA TV noms for his work on "The Streets of San Francisco" and "Hill Street Blues."
As an actor, the ruggedly handsome Cleveland native also appeared in 1958 films "Darby's Rangers" and "Party Girl" (also directed...

Opponents of the merger between Comcast and NBC Universal fear being blacklisted if they speak their minds.
So argues U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who made the charge Monday during a House Judiciary hearing that focused on whether the proposed merger would lead to more, or less, ethnic diversity in the entertainment industry.
The outspoken California Democrat also insinuated that someone representing Comcast inquired about making certain political donations in exchange for her support of the merger.
Asked by The Hollywood Reporter for names and other details about both of her accusations, Waters demurred. "Let's not go there," she said.
But during the public hearing, Waters noted that some scheduled to testify Monday bowed out at the last minute, fearful of retribution.
"It is somewhat troublesome that many independent and minority programmers, producers, writers and directors have been afraid to voice their concerns for fear of blacklisting or other forms of retaliation,...

Steve Cohen, after market close, at his desk on the trading floor of Sac Capital in Stamford, Connecticut. Photograph by Annie Leibovitz. What’s eating Steve Cohen? It’s a reasonable question to ask about the man often referred to as the “king of hedge funds,” the self-made billionaire (No. 36 on Forbes’s list of the richest Americans) and world-renowned art collector who occupies one of the biggest, most famed pleasure palaces—a 30-room mansion complete with two-hole golf course and basketball court—in Wall Street’s leafy suburban redoubt of choice, Greenwich, Connecticut. Well, a lot, it turns out. First, there are the persistent rumors that Cohen’s fund, Sac Capital—one of the biggest movers of the stock market in the world, responsible, in better days, for as much as 3 percent of all trading on the New York Stock Exchange—is engaged in illegal information gathering, rumors which...

We've got a whole slew of season finales tonight so my job's going to be getting a lot more boring really soon. I mean, I guess there's some summer replacement stuff coming up, but is there anything you're really excited about? There's only a few shows I get really excited about, and one of them won't be on again until the end of August ("The Venture Brothers"), one of them is still going for at least another couple of weeks ("Glee!", which I'm only really excited about because next week is the Lady Gaga episode!), and the other one is currently on but I have to emotionally prepare myself for each and every episode ("Friday Night Lights"). I'm seeing a lot of Netflix in my future. Here's what's on tonight:
8:00 p.m.: "Bones" on Fox. Fifth season finale.
"Community" on NBC. First season finale.
"Flash Forward" on ABC.

Members of R.E.M., X and She & Him will join the surviving members of Big Star to pay tribute to late frontman Alex Chilton at the South by Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas, on Saturday. The gig, which Chilton was supposed to play with his legendarily influential band, will take place just three days after the guitarist/singer passed away from a suspected heart attack in New Orleans at age 59.
The Saturday night show at Antone's will feature original Big Star drummer Jody Stephens and newer members Ken Stringfellow and Jon Auer of the Posies acting as a house band, with original Big Star bassist Andy Hummel expected to sit in along with She & Him's M. Ward, R.E.

I wonder if Jeff Zucker knew that when he testified before Congress this past week about the merger between NBC and Comcast he would be talking about Tyler Perry.
But that's what happened this past week when Rep. Maxine Waters asked Zucker, "Is there some assumption that black programming is not profitable?" This is probably a question that Zucker wasn't expecting, and I'm not sure if he answered it in the best way that he could. He said that NBC has a great history of black shows on the network, and when Representative Steve Cohen mentioned that Al Roker is on 'Today' (to defend Zucker, I guess), Zucker mentioned that NBC also has Lester Holt.
Zucker was probably in an odd position, having to defend his network's diversity by actually pointing out specific people one by one (you never win when you do that), and I'm not quite sure what...
