LAS VEGAS -- Technicolor Content Services has launched a location-based production services division, which is formed through a partnership with location service provider Creative Bridge.
The new unit, Technicolor Creative Bridge, will offer various production, prepost and post services.
"With the advent and huge expansion of digital tools and services ... we've experienced a strong demand for location-based services," said Ahmad Ouri, president of TCS, which is part of the services division of parent company Thomson. "Clients want the efficiencies of making postproduction decisions earlier, during principal photography, and having these decisions carry through seamlessly during the final digital intermediate process."
Per the agreement, Creative Bridge co-founders Brian Gaffney and Dan Lion will join Technicolor as vps to oversee the new group. Gaffney also will serve as GM of the unit. "This is a partnership that will ideally lead to acquisition," Gaffney said.
Technicolor Creative Bridge will offer the capabilities of Technicolor's color science, global post services and Technicolor Digital Intermediates' DI services.
