True Brit Entertainment has revealed a first look image of Pierce Brosnan in the boxing biopic ‘Giant.’
The movie is based on the compelling true-life story of British-Yemeni pugilist Prince Naseem ‘Naz’ Hamed and his rags-to-riches ascent to a World Championship under the tutelage of his Irish-born boxing trainer Brendan Ingle.
The story of Hamed’s humble beginnings on the tough working-class streets of Sheffield and his discovery by Ingle, himself a steel industry worker turned boxing trainer. Their unlikely partnership along with Naz’ unorthodox style, cocky persona, and sheer dominance in the ring, propelled them to the top of boxing’s elite and unprecedented levels of global superstardom, all in the face of the rampant Islamophobia and racism of 80’s and 90’s Britain.

‘Tulsa King’ Casting Company Quits After Sylvester Stallone Accused Of Disparaging Background Actors
An Atlanta-based casting company has left Tulsa King in the wake of allegations that Sylvester Stallone and one of the directors had disparaged some background actors who were working on the Paramount+ drama.
Rose Locke Casting of Atlanta was hired to find actors ages 18 and over for the second season of the Taylor Sheridan series. But apparently the working conditions on Tulsa King soon became fodder on a private Facebook page for Atlanta-based background actors; Stallone and an unnamed director were accused of calling some of the extras “ugly,” “tub of lard” and “fat guy with cane.” The recipient of the latter comment apparently said later that it “hurt his soul” to hear himself described that way on set.
Allegedly, Stallone then suggested that production bring in “pretty young girls to be around me,” instead.
Rose Locke Casting announced on its Facebook page Sunday that it was leaving the show.

Today, Paramount+ announced that production is underway on the highly anticipated Tulsa King Season 2, which will star Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone.
Executive-produced by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan, the comedy is set to film in Oklahoma and Atlanta. Multi-award nominee Craig Zisk will direct and executive produce.
Academy Award nominee Terence Winter is slated to return as writer and executive producer. Tulsa King Season 2 is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios exclusively for Paramount+.
Tulsa King continues to be one of Paramount+’s most-watched series of all time, ranking second only behind Sheridan’s 1923. Exclusive: Craig Zisk has been tapped to direct and executive produce Season 2 of Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ original series Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone, which has started production. Now designated as a comedy series, Tulsa King will film in Oklahoma and Atlanta.
As Deadline reported in February, Terence Winter, who stepped down as showrunner of the mob drama/comedy after its first season, has come back as a writer on Season 2 in addition to his continuing duties as an executive producer. The series opted not to get a replacement for Winter in line with the practice at the other Sheridan series produced by 101 Studios that don’t have a traditional showrunner. Instead, Tulsa King, produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, was to bring in a director/executive producer, which it now has with Zisk’s hire.

The first season of Taylor Sheridan’s “Tulsa King” is set to make its broadcast debut this summer, airing on CBS ahead of the Paramount+ release of Season 2.
This isn’t the first time Paramount Global is bringing a Sheridan streaming series over to its broadcaster: The network has seen major success by bringing “Yellowstone” from the Paramount Network to CBS. The first episode reached 6.6 million viewers, and as Variety exclusively reported, 50% of those viewers had never seen the show before. The CBS debut also drove some wins back to streaming — though on NBCUniversal-owned Peacock, which owns the “Yellowstone” rights — where Variety reported that viewership increased by 26% over a 10-day period. But with “Tulsa King,” all viewership bumps will remain in-house for Paramount.
Per the company, “Tulsa King” is the second-most-watched series on Paramount+, following only Sheridan’s “1923.”

Paramount is bringing more of its Taylor Sheridan universe to CBS.
After the broadcast network previously aired the first two seasons of Yellowstone as part of its strike-impacted schedule, CBS will use the same strategy to bolster awareness of another Sheridan-produced show: Tulsa King.
Season one of the Paramount+ drama starring Sylvester Stallone will make its broadcast debut at a date to be determined on CBS in the summer, ahead of the sophomore run of the series returning in the fall to the streamer.
The move to bring Tulsa King to broadcast is part of Paramount Global’s larger strategy to repurpose streaming originals on its linear platforms. In addition to exposing streaming content to a broader audience, the move is more cost effective than making and launching a new scripted or unscripted series in the traditionally lower-viewership time of the year.

In “Sly,” director Thom Zimny captures a side of Sylvester Stallone seldom seen. The 95-minute docu exposes a relatable, vulnerable man who is often thought to be the movie characters he made iconic — Rocky Balboa or John Rambo.
Born in 1946, Stallone grew up in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen with little money and a father who might have hated him. Zimny’s docu reveals that the fraught upbringing turned out to work in Stallone’s favor when it came to Hollywood. The star’s background not only drove him to be a success, but also inspired many of the roles he made legendary.
Unlike many celebrity docus, “Sly” isn’t a valentine to the star as much as a retrospective of the Oscar-winner’s unlikely, but highly successful 50-year career.
Variety spoke to Zimny ahead of the Netflix premiere of “Sly” on Nov. 3.

Evildoers beware! Sylvester Stallone is getting back in the ring with Amazon MGM Studios to develop Samaritan 2, a sequel to the Italian Stallion’s 2022 superhero action movie. Bragi F. Schut, who wrote the first film, returns to pen the sequel, with Stallone producing alongside his Balboa Productions partner Braden Aftergood. In addition to producing the film, Stallone reprises his role as Joe from the original.
Here’s the official synopsis for Samaritan:
Thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary (Javon “Wanna” Walton) suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith (Sylvester Stallone), is actually a legend hiding in plain sight. Twenty-five years ago, Granite City’s super-powered vigilante, Samaritan, was reported dead after a fiery warehouse battle with his rival, Nemesis. Most believe Samaritan perished in the fire, but some in the city, like Sam, have hope that he is still alive. With crime on the rise and the city on the brink of chaos,...

Amazon MGM Studios is going back for superhero seconds.
The streamer is developing a sequel to Samaritan, its 2022 action movie starring Sylvester Stallone, and has hired Bragi F. Schut to pen the script. Schut also wrote the first movie.
Stallone is returning as producer, as is his Balboa Productions partner Braden Aftergood. Stallone is also reprising his starring role with a deal made prior to the actors strike.
Samaritan, directed by Julius Avery, told of a young boy who is saved from a beating by a sanitation worker. The boy comes to believe that the older man is a superhero who disappeared 20 years earlier, after an epic battle with his archenemies. The movie, which premiered exclusively on Prime Video on Aug. 26, 2022, in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, overperformed for the company and was the No. 1 film on the service for three consecutive weeks, according to Amazon.
Schut wrote the first script on spec.

Sylvester Stallone is in a class of his own.
The “Rocky” writer-star reflects on his legacy in Netflix documentary “Sly,” which charts his rise from “underdog to icon,” per the tagline.
“What is healthier, to live under the illusion and still have a glimmer of hope that you could have been great, or blow it and realize you’re a failure?” Stallone asks in the trailer.
Directed by Thom Zimny, “Sly” is billed as “an intimate and unexpected look at the early life of the action megastar as well as a reflection on his career that spans nearly 50 years.” The doc was announced in June and comes on the heels of the Netflix three-part docuseries “Arnold” about Stallone’s competitor and acting counterpart, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
“Sly” closed 2023 TIFF, and charts Stallone’s “rough beginnings in New York City as a troubled kid who’d escape his angry household to watch...

“Growing up with the biggest action films of the ’80s and ’90s, working on many of them myself, ‘Cliffhanger’ was by far one of my favorite spectacles,” director Ric Roman Waugh said in a statement. “To be at the helm of the next chapter, scaling the Italian Alps with the legend himself, Sylvester Stallone, is a dream come true. It’s going to be a great challenge and blast taking this franchise to new heights, a responsibility I don’t take lightly.
