Chillerama introduced the world to a number of things, from sex-hungry ghouls to man-eating semen, but perhaps the most memorable segment in last year’s anthology hit is Tim Sullivan’s I Was A Teenage Werebear. The hybrid of Rebel Without A Cause and Beach Blanket Bingo (with a little bit of s&m) is a hilarious musical that goes over the top to a sweet tune. Now the tunes featured in Werebear are available in a limited edition soundtrack that, despite being on the market less than 24 hours at this point, is already causing waves.
Sullivan initially offered the disc on Ebay as a bulk quantity auction, but within hours, the auction giant removed his listing, citing it as, “sexually and morally offensive.” As a result, the filmmaker has had to ask interested parties to order directly from him by sending an request to newrebel2211@gmail.com with your...

This writer and Dread Central's The Horror Starlets took part this past Sunday, October 23rd, in the seventh annual non-profit Bowling for Boobies Los Angeles breast cancer charity event, and we wish to thank those in the horror community and beyond who so generously donated to this wonderful cause. We couldn’t do it every year without you!
Culminating at Jillian’s Hi-Life at Universal City Walk in Los Angeles, California, with a pink carpet, a night of bowling, and the paparazzi snapping away (see our photo gallery by Geza Decsy below), the charity - run by founder Stephanie Lahart of the Busted Foundation - raised over $100,000 with our team (who received an award this year for ‘Biggest Balls’ for ‘Most Money Raised the Fastest’) contributing nearly $14K of that total. As they do each year, the proceeds will directly benefit local Los Angeles women battling breast cancer.

Dread Central hit the world premiere of the Image Entertainment and Ariescope Pictures anthology film Chillerama at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, California, last Thursday, September 15th (see Part 1 here), and today we bring you Part 2 of our coverage. In this installment we provide interviews with one of the film's directors, Adam Rifkin, and cast members Lin Shaye, Gabby West, Kristina Klebe and more!

Dread Central hit the world premiere of the Chillerama anthology film (review here) at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, California, last night and while on the red carpet chatted with the flick’s directors - Adam Green, Adam Rifkin, Joe Lynch, Tim Sullivan - and more before taking in the screening with an enthusiastic and boisterous audience of over 3,000. Read on for Part 1 of our coverage and some ocular candy!
For those unfamiliar with Hollywood Forever, the cemetery has in recent years become a mecca for cineastes with summer film screenings taking place on its grounds nearly every weekend (films are projected onto the wall of its massive mausoleum). Hundreds gather for these events, and last night was no exception. Food trucks abounded as the vociferous audience - toting blankets and bottles of wine - set up on the lawn in anticipation. This writer is asking you, our tightly-knit horror community, as we approach October – our month of months – to unite for a good cause: to support local Los Angeles women battling breast cancer by contributing to the Bowling for Boobies campaign.
For the past several years I've been involved directly with Bowling for Boobies (a non-profit fundraiser which provides monetary assistance to L.A. women who are experiencing financial challenges as the result of fighting and living with breast cancer). It's been a vastly rewarding experience as the money Bfb generates goes directly to someone struggling with this deadly disease, Not some ambiguous research society.
This year we're at it again with the 7th Annual Bowling for Boobies, which culminates on October 23 in Los Angeles at Jillian’s Hi-Life at Universal City Walk with a red carpet followed by an evening of bowling. Jane Wiedlin of The Go-Go's will be on...

The drive-in movie-going experience is something I recall as a true labor of cinema love for me. Before there was the option to trek to your local Ma and Pa video store to catch a flick, you had no choice but to beg your parents to get in the car to see the latest horror film. And that, my friends, is what is missing from fandom today – that spontaneity to throw caution to the wind to take a chance on what might or might not be a terrible movie. That’s what made it so much fun! The days of battling the crackling speaker in the car window and the giant murky screen where you couldn’t quite see what was happening may seem long gone, but if you search Google maps you’d be surprised to find out there are a few left. But people would rather Netflix, Redbox...

On Saturday, July 9th, Dread Central hosted a sneak peek of Tim Sullivan's "I Was a Teenage Werebear" from the Chillerama anthology in Metuchen, New Jersey; and in advance of the full film being shown this Friday, July 22, at San Diego Comic-Con, we thought we'd provide you with our first impressions of "Werebear" to help whet your appetites.
Ah the 50’s with their beach blanket parties always erupting into song and dance and, later that evening, awkward groping done off camera. After all, this was a “gentler” time and such naughty moments were alluded to but otherwise never seen in public. It is with these images in mind and a great love of John Waters that a man named Tim Sullivan brings us a little film called “I Was a Teenage Wearbear!!”

I Was a Teenage Werebear
starring Brent Corrigan I was lucky enough to have caught a sneak peek into Tim Sullivan's entry in the Chillerama anthology entitled ""I Was a Teenage Werebear", which is due out later this year on DVD through Image Entertainment. Werebear stars the always controversial Brent Corrigan (aka Sean Paul Lockhart) as a high school student having to deal with the curse of turning into a werebear (a mixture of leather daddy & werewolf) whenever he finds himself aroused. I Was a Teenage Werebear co-stars Anton Troy (Filth to Ashes, Flesh to Dust), Gabrielle West ( VH1's Scream Queens), Lin Shaye (Insidious) and the director himself - Tim Sullivan (2001 Manaics) - in a very funny cameo appearance.
If "I Was a Teenage Werebear" is any indication of what to expect of Chillerama, Chillerama deserves to be one of the most anticipated DVD releases of the year.

Parrish Randall is a Texas actor who has a lot of cool stuff going on. He’s part of the team putting together the “Don’t Look in the Basement” remake together and he recently got to work on one of the Chillerama segments that we’ll be seeing this fall. Randall talks about his filming experiences and a few more upcoming projects in the works. Check out my latest Versus with actor and all around cool guy Parrish Randall.
Brian S- First off, how'd you get into acting and filmmaking?
Parrish Randall- I grew up watching the old classics on TV...you know, the Bogie, Jimmy Stewart, John Garfield type of films and was always mesmerized that the medium of film could take the viewer on adventures for two hours that one could never imagine going on. Pretty cool, I thought, even at six years old watching these films.

[With I Was A Teenage Werebear playing film festivals and Chillerama set to debut later this year, Tim Sullivan writes up the first of two parts, regarding his experiences bringing this unique film to life! --Dqm]
As I write this, I am sitting in my hotel room in Honolulu, one day before the world premiere of my Chillerama segment, I Was a Teenage Werebear at the Rainbow Film Fest.. It’s been a long journey to get to this point. I am grateful to so many who supported my journey, and even more grateful to those who did not, for they only strengthened my fortitude to be true to myself, and to my artistic vision. Hawaii will be followed by a 3 month tour on the Lgbt film circuit, before Werebears joins its companion films as part of Chillerama late summer/early fall. (I cannot Wait to tell you what me, Adam Rifkin, Joe Lynch and Adam Green got planned for That!!!!)
With the ocean breeze wafting through the balcony windows, I find myself in a reflective mode. For those who don’t already know it, let me just spell it out.

Brent Corrigan is best known for his presence in the adult film community and for his torrid past which involved him performing in porn while underage and performing in bareback porn. However, Brent Corrigan has managed to push through and keep his superstar status in the gay adult world due to his undeniable charisma and boyish good looks.

Allison Kyler is one of the "Scream Queens" from the second season of the hit horror influenced VH1 show in which ten up and coming actresses competed for a role in Saw 3D. Even though she didn't make it to the finale where Gabby West was crowned the winner, she left an undeniable mark. Her combination of strong dancing skills, a sizzling screen presence and a tuff take no prisoner's kind of attitude made her stand out on the show while some of the other contestants faded into the background. Allison Kyler's dance skills paid off after she got kicked off from the show, because they lend themselves to an inherent understanding of how to move about on screen which gave her a distinct advantage when it came time to book jobs and take advantage of the exposure that the show granted. Some of those roles include the upcoming CW inspired slasher C.L.A.S.S.

Gay adult superstar Brent Corrigan has just wrapped the leading role in writer/director Tim Sullivan’s segment of the horror-comedy anthology feature film “Chillerama”. Homage to the Drive-In movies of the50’s and 60’s, “Chillerama” is collaboration between Sullivan and fellow filmmakers Adam Rifkin (“Detroit Rock City”), Adam Green (“Hatchet”) and Joe Lynch (“Wrong Turn 2”).
“Each one of us is doing homage to a different genre and style,” explained Sullivan. “I choose the surf musicals of the 60’s crossed with “Lost Boys”and “Twilight”. As a gay man, I’ve always been drawn to the queer subtext in films depicting teenage angst, whether it be James Dean’s relationship to Sal Mineo in “Rebel Without a Cause” or Zac Efron’s emotional tug...

Dread recently visited the set of filmmaker Tim Sullivan’s latest flick Chillerama and spent some time chatting with him, as well as the cast, regarding his rather gonzo segment of the horror-comedy anthology. Entitled "I Was A Teenage Werebear", Sullivan’s spoof of 1960’s beach blanket flicks, among others, was then filming during the wee hours of November 5th in Sycamore Cove, a state beach just north of the exclusive enclave of Malibu.
“Let me tell you what’s going on,” Sullivan (the man behind the features 2001 Maniacs and 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams, as well as the host of VH1’s recently-concluded reality series "Scream Queens 2") communicated to us of the film, while rehearsing a dance number with a dozen or so actors decked out in luau garb, as waves crashed on the beach just yards away. “It’s me and filmmakers Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2: Dead End...

This past Sunday, October 24th, Jillian’s Hi-Life at Universal City was the place to be as the lovely Dread Central Horror Starlets, a fundraising team assembled by DC’s own Sean Decker, helped support women battling breast cancer who face financial hardships due to increasing medical expenses associated with their treatments through the Busted Foundation.
The Dread Central Horror Starlets bowling team featured some of horror’s newest scream queens, as well as a few more well-known ladies, including Sarah Butler (I Spit on Your Grave), Ashlynn Yennie (The Human Centipede), Carlee Baker (Wicked Lake), Tracy Coogan (Dark Woods), Gabby West (the upcoming Saw 3D), and Micheline Pitt (of Pin Up Girl Clothing).
The Horror Starlets team cheerleader Brooke Lewis (iMurders) came out for the big night to give the ladies some encouragement and writer/director Tim Sullivan (2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams) was on hand to chat with...

The second annual Reaper Awards descended onto the historic Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood on Tuesday, October 12th, in high fashion as the hotel was packed to celebrate the best horror titles released over the last year on DVD and Blu-Ray.
The Reaper Awards were hosted by Dread Central’s own fearless leader, Steve “Uncle Creepy” Barton, and the awards themselves (The Grimmys) are given out as part of a collaborative effort between Dread and Home Media Magazine to put the spotlight on genre titles which mainstream award shows generally overlook.
On hand for the Reaper Awards was a proverbial “Who’s Who” in the horror genre, including director Darren Lynn Bousman (Mother’s Day), actor Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), iconic director Tom Holland (the original Fright Night), director Adam Green (Hatchet II), actress Rileah Vanderbilt (Hatchet II), director Neil Marshall (Centurion), actress Axelle Carolyn (Centurion), director Declan O...
