- Self-syndicates his crossword puzzles, which appear in 12 papers, including The San Francisco Chronicle, The Los Angeles Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Hartford Courant. He makes six figures a year by leveraging his name and retaining the rights to his puzzles, which he resells in book form under his own imprint, PuzzleWorks.

His first puzzle appeared in the 6 April 2008 issue; his final puzzle appeared in the Arts & Style section of the 30 August 2015 issue of the newspaper, because the magazine was not published that week.
