NBC has delivered a favorable verdict to Night Court.
The network has picked up a third season of its comedy series, a revival of/sequel to the 1984-92 show of the same name. Night Court is the first of NBC’s three current comedies to earn a spot on the 2024-25 schedule; decisions have yet to be made on Lopez vs. Lopez and Extended Family. NBC also has one new comedy, St. Denis Medical, on tap for next season, and a pilot called Happy’s Place starring Reba McEntire.
Night Court averaged 3.73 million viewers in Nielsen’s seven-day linear ratings for its second season — down a good amount from its return in 2023 but still ranking as NBC’s most watched comedy. As with most scripted shows, it picks up a substantial audience boost via streaming; NBC didn’t provide detailed figures (as is usually the case with streaming) but said...

The upcoming episode of the NBC comedy gives Abby (Melissa Rauch) a new crush and Dan (John Larroquette) a new reason to be annoyed at work. In “Taught and Bothered,” airing Tuesday, February 20 at 8/7c, Abby finds she has a crush on the H.R. rep who’s come to teach the Night Court crew about respect in the workplace. Abby Stone is in a romantic panic in Night Court Season 2 Episode 4. Her ex, Rand (Pete Holmes), is dating someone else after their ended engagement, which launches Melissa Rauch‘s spritely judge into an obsession with… pickles. In the TV Insider exclusive clip above, new court clerk Wyatt Shaw tries to get Abby to get to the root of her newfound pickle obsession. “Is there a chance this isn’t about pickles?” he asks. “Maybe you’re feeling a little weird because your ex is seeing someone and you’re not? “The Good Fight” saved its best and most audacious for last. In the exemplary series finale “The End of Everything,” which aired on Thursday, the lawyers at Reddick Ri’Chard signed off in a frenzy of gunfire, as white supremacists opened fire on the Black law firm at the heart of the show. The shocking climax served as a fitting and almost inevitable end to a six-season run that has chronicled the dismantling of civil discourse, judicial norms and the rise of violence in American society. The episode is also, paradoxically, a joyous end to one of the most original and daring series of the streaming era.
Before the supremely tense attack — which beautifully recreated the Paramount+ show’s main titles by having the gunfire explode the vases, televisions, law books and tumblers of the opening credits — the episode finds Christine Baranski’s Diane Lockhart at personal and professional crossroads.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from “The End of Everything,” the series finale of “The Good Fight,” now streaming on Paramount+.
After six seasons, the clock has run out on “The Good Fight” — but not before leaving audiences with a gut-punch reminder that the fight is never over.
All season, the Paramount+ series has not-so-subtly used an escalating alt-right protest and fake grenades to tease a mysterious countdown to something happening on 11/10, which also marked the airdate for this week’s series finale.
But that doomsday clock wasn’t ticking down to the attempted assassination of the entire staff of Reddick & Associates, which showered the firm’s offices and the final hour in bullets. Instead, the clock timed out in the series’ final seconds with the news that Donald Trump had selected 11/10 as the day to announce his 2024 presidential run.
As such, “The Good Fight” ended where it began,...

Spoiler Alert: The following story reveals major plot points from the series finale of Paramount+’s The Good Fight.
The date was September 22, 2009 when viewers were first introduced to the character of Diane Lockhart in the CBS series The Good Wife, portrayed by Christine Baranski. Now, 13 years later, Diane walks off into the sunset one last time—at least for now—as the show’s streaming spinoff The Good Fight says goodbye after 6 seasons on Paramount+.
Everyone on the series was really put through the ringer this season, much like most of the world the last two and a half years. Diane, Liz Reddick (Audra McDonald), Marissa Gold (Sarah Steele), Jay Dipersia (Nyambi Nyambi), and Carmen Moyo (Charmaine Bingwa), among others, spent a lot of time in their law office where they were safe from the violence just outside their building where civil war loomed.

Diane's worries are far from over in the sixth season of The Good Fight TV show on Paramount+. As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like The Good Fight is cancelled or renewed for season seven. In the sixth season premiere of “The Good Fight,” Christine Baranski’s Diane Lockhart tearfully shares with her new therapist that she wants “off the wheel” of political and legal insanity, and in true ‘Good Fight’ fashion, her tears are induced by teargas from the raging angst in the streets. Unfortunately, fans of the Paramount+ series will be teary-eyed, too, as Diane getting off the wheel means that after 60 episodes, the Robert King and Michelle King legal and political drama will sign off, ending a 13-year run that began with “The Good Wife.”
In these final episodes, Baranski’s Diane will struggle to process the fact that so much progress made over the past 50 years has receded, from reproductive and civil rights to the return of Cold War aggressions and threat of nuclear war. Audra McDonald’s Liz will confront a much different battle, sparring with the law firm’s...

The upcoming sixth season of The Good Fight will be the last for the acclaimed series, which helped launch Paramount+ predecessor CBS All Access as its first original series. Production is currently underway in New York City on Season 6, which will premiere Sept. 8. This wraps a 13-season run for Robert and Michelle King, creators and executive producers of The Good Wife, which aired on CBS for seven seasons, and co-creators/executive producers of spinoff The Good Fight.

Although their characters are all smooth talking legal experts on Paramount+ series “The Good Fight,” occasionally, some of the actors flub a line or two. And this is documented hilariously in this gag reel clip from the DVD release of Season 5, exclusive to TheWrap.
Mandy Patinkin, who plays Judge Wackner, is first up in the video, combining recess and research into a brand new word. Then Jane Curtin, who plays Judge Farley, replaces one defendant’s name for another. You can see more of the moments that left the cast chuckling in the video at the top of this page.
“The Good Fight” Season 5 drops May 3 on DVD, spanning three discs. It will also included deleted scenes.
Here’s Season 5’s logline: “In the latest season, Diane (Christine Baranski) is forced to question whether it’s appropriate for her to help run an African American law firm with Liz (Audra McDonald...

Mandy Patinkin’s Judge Hal Wackner, the latest kooky character on the Paramount+ series “The Good Fight,” makes his litigants end each lawsuit by saying to one another, “I respect and I love you.” Critics have shared the exact same sentiment about this criminally underrated series, which has been earning some of the best notices of its entire run for its brilliantly bizarre fifth season that wraps up on Thursday.
Its new characters, including Patinkin’s Wackner and Charmaine Bingwa‘s enigmatic new lawyer Carmen Moyo, topical episodes on medical racism in the treatment of Covid-19 and hilarious, moving visits from historical figures like Elaine May’s Ruth Bader Ginsberg have earned the plaudits of critics. Kevin Fallon (Daily Beast) calls the season “flawless,” writing that the show is “having what may be its best season ever,” including “the most thrilling stretch of episodes in a TV series this year.

Selena Gomez is not impressed with the Paramount+ series The Good Fight.
A recent episode found a group a group of comedy writers trying to determine which topics were offensive and off-limits.
Jay (Nyambi Nyambi) complained in the show that comedians are held back nowadays by sensitive audiences.
They concluded the off-limit topics should include necrophilia, autism, and "Selena Gomez's kidney transplant."
Fans were, understandably, unimpressed with the shoutout, and a few weeks after the episode aired, Gomez responded on social media.
"I am not sure how writing jokes about organ transplants for television shows has become a thing but sadly it has apparently," she wrote on Twitter.
"I hope in the next writer's room when one of these tasteless jokes are presented, it's called out immediately and doesn't make it on air."
The star shared a link to OrganDonor.gov, where individuals can sign up to donate certain organs to patients in need.

Pop singer and actress Selena Gomez fired back at Paramout+ show “The Good Fight” Tuesday after the legal drama made a joke about a kidney transplant operation she underwent back in 2017.
Some context: “The Good Fight,” a spin-off of the hit CBS show “The Good Wife,” showed several characters brainstorming joke ideas for a comedy television executive played by Wayne Brady. Brady asks Liz (Audra McDonald) to put together something for one of his characters and the scene then unfolds with Marissa (Sarah Steele), Jim (Ifadansi Rashad) and Jay (Nyambi Nyambi) tossing out ideas.
In some weird attempt for the show to address cancel culture, Jay begins to ask what comedy topics should be off-limits, which leads people to list off answers including necrophilia, autism and “Selena Gomez’s kidney transplant.”

It's too bad the Emmys have already been announced for this year because The Good Fight Season 5 Episode 5 would have been a real contender.
This was easily the best episode of the season and will go down as one of the show's greatest.
You think you're emotionally prepared to watch shows cover the Covid-19 pandemic, having already braced yourself from the horrors that could be coming our way, but then something like this airs, and it undoes you in a way you didn't know was possible.
Before we get started, let's take a moment to recognize the incredible work from Nyambi Nyambi, who plays Jay.
Nyambi gave the performance of a lifetime, as Jay dealt with the Ptsd of his past.
Jay: Why are we here?
Douglas: Because we’re dying.
Jay: When did you last see a doctor?
Douglas: Yesterday, no, no, it was Thursday. What’s your name?...
