William Leavitt(1926-1990)

Composer, arranger, guitarist and author, educated at the Commercial
Music School. As a staff guitarist he made many recordings, and worked
as a freelance composer and arranger, often for CBS. Joining ASCAP in
1953, his popular-song compositions include "Bach in the Old Chorale",
"Beguine Scene", "Easy Going", "The Hayloft Jamboree", "I'll Wait for
You", "If It Wasn't For the Kids", "John's Reply", "Light Blues", "My
Baby's Comin' Home", "My First Date with Jimmy", "Only a Whisper Away",
"Power Mower", "A Ride in Santa's Sleigh", "Sea to Sea", "Short and
Sweet", "Solo in G", "Stay Where You Are", and "Wake Up".
