The CW’s new meta-mystery Cult brings us into a world that most visitors to this website happen to know pretty well: The realm of overly obsessive pop culture fandom. It’s a sometimes fun, sometimes scary, always interesting shadowland where enthusiasm for fantasy takes the most peculiar forms: Ardent ‘shipping, colorful cosplay, mad theorizing by know-it-all bloggers who give themselves fake PhDs and are rarely correct about anything. (Such hacks! Such frauds!) Created by Farscape’s Rockne S. O’Bannon, a scribe with genre smarts who clearly knows much about the benefits and beautiful weirdness of fandom, Cult imagines...

We're back with Part Two of our roundtable interviews for The CW's new series "Cult," which premieres February 19th. Today we have on tap co-stars Jessica Lucas, Robert Knepper, and Alona Tal.
Lucas, who plays Skye Yarrow, provided some information on her character and the show. "I play Skye, a research assistant on the television show," Lucas said. "She's the one who first starts to notice that weird things are happening with the fans of the show. She grew up with a journalist father so she's very inquisitive by nature, refusing to take no for an answer, and then she meets Jeff (Matt Davis); when Jeff's brother disappears, that gives her a reason to look deeper into the show. She's got a partner in crime to help her do that."
Thus far, Skye has not developed a ton of backstory, but that is certainly coming. "I think there's a lot...

From what or whom do you derive your greatest inspiration?
My inspiration comes from so many different sources that it’s impossible to say. Ideas can come from just talking to someone or flipping through the radio. Ideas are the sum of everything on your mind at any given time.

Aleks Paunovic is back in Arctic Air tonight. It's not the first time that he has appeared on the show, but he will have a more central part in tonight's episode, which airs at 9 pm on CBC in Canada. Other familiar faces will probably show up, too. CBC has a new interview with Aleks. Snippets:
You play Jim McAlister on Arctic Air, what is that guy all about?
Jim is a fun-loving best buddy with a big heart. He's stoked to have Bobby (Adam Beach) back in town. He's a prospector and trusts Bobby to the fullest. He'll do anything to protect his friends, family and the North.
What is it like working on a all Canadian production as opposed to a U.S. production that is being filmed in Canada?
I love home grown projects. Most of the U.S. projects are about situations, not about where they are shooting.

All right, a couple of interviews and a sneak peek before the date with the Cylon Bunny. Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend!
Eric Stoltz talked to The Orange County Register about Fort McCoy, which will be screened at the Newport Beach festival next week (April 30). Here is what he said:
"I read the script and I thought it was a very well-written and interesting and compelling true story," said Stoltz, 49. "I enjoy playing roles based on real people. As a producer, I suggest things to the directors – cuts, shots, casting, notes. We got permission from the Department of Defense to shoot at an authentic Army base. I thought that was pretty cool, because they don't always do that."
Stoltz plans to attend the screening on April 30 and stick around for the question-and-answer session afterward. "I love film festivals, because the people who come to them are the people interested in supporting the arts,...

While I was sure (and I'm sure many of you were, too) that Walter would reveal the secret to Peter last week, he chose not to, burning the tell-all letter instead. Of course, Fox's promo department didn't keep us hanging long regarding when (and if) Peter would find out. He does next week!, they hastened to tell us not a minute after "White Tulip" completed.
"I'm not from here, am I?" Peter utters in the promo, making the understatement of the week. Of course, how he finds out was still left up in the air, though I don't think Walter tells him. No, I think that it's Thomas Newton, the shapeshifting soldier from the Other Side, who tells him instead. After all, Newton's playing a kind of major role in the episode. Just look at the press release!

Fringe's second season has really been getting into the mythology of the series while maintaining the week-to-week theme of a procedural. Episode 2.18 of the series, "The Man from the Other Side," is obviously one of those episodes — you can just tell from the title. The "Other Side," along with "Over There," is a term often used on the show to delineate the alternate universe which has been causing such a big problem for our characters. You know, big problems like shape-shifting soldiers taking on the appearance of Olivia's dead partner and plotting to kill her.
