We have a few gallery updates for you today. First is Rupert Grint in a "Making Of" "Cherrybomb" feature that appears on the UK DVD. This is particularly nice as you can see very interesting behind-the-scenes moments and an interview with not only Rupert, but his co-stars Robbie Sheehan and Kimberley Nixon. Along with the directors Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D'Sa, the script writer Daragh Carville, and also with cast and crew members including Conor McNeill. You can view those images here. In other news, with only 46 days left, thanks to Uhp we have a look at the Deathly Hallows sticker book that should be coming out soon. You can view that here. Continue reading →...

As filming is winding down for what is the first of the last two weeks for the principal cast of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows , fans continue to catch glimpses of Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, Bonnie Wright, et al at Kings Cross station. Here is another video where you can get quick peeks as the stars walk to and from the set of Platform 9 & 3/4, including a smiling Rupert, a brief look at Hermione's shorter 'mom' hairdo, and another lanky ginger girl who many speculate may actually be young Rose Weasley. So in a week full of spoilers, some mystery, and hopefully a few surprises, still remain for fans to uncover. On the Cherrybomb front, an interview has surfaced with screenwriter Daragh Carville on Script Smart . In this interview, Daragh talks about his influences and experiences that led him to a screenwriting career, as well as talking about his work on Cherrybomb.

May 27, 2010, 12:48 pm—A new interview has just been published with Daragh Carville, screenwriter of Rupert Grint’s film Cherrybomb! He talks about the development of the storyline for the film and the production with Lisa Barros D’Sa and Glenn Leyburn, as well as the casting process and his opinion of Rupert as Malachy: I didn’t actually think we’d get him but he came in to read and it was clear very quickly that he was perfect for the part. He’s a terrific actor and there’s something very warm and winning and accessible about him that was just ideal for Malachy. Now I genuinely can’t think of anyone else in that part. He nailed it. Daragh also mentions the „totally unexpected“ support of Rupert’s fans (and goes into detail) – and describes the impact Rupert had on the film:...

Welcome to Trailer Watch, a new feature for the weekend, where we compile a bunch of indie and not so big name trailers for some fantastic movies. Originally this was tried out here on FusedFilm as a video series called The Tease, but that faded due to the lack scheduling and timing making this version much better to do. However this may reevolve into that series.
Many may not realize that movie trailers have now become extremely popular on the Internet. Of some 10-billion videos watched online annually, movie trailers rank #3, after news and user-created video (which sometimes features fan made trailers). So having a feature like this just makes sense.
Legacy - Teaser # 1
First up we have a trailer for Legacy, starring Idris Elba, who a lot more people will get to know soon in the upcoming film The Losers. Although The Wire fans already know him. The trailer...

As promised, I have the audio from both the directors' introduction to Cherrybomb at last night's UK Premier, and the writer's and directors' Q&A, that followed the screening. It seemed that most of the cast and crew - apart from the leads - were present in the audience, and the cheering for every name in the credits was loud and prolonged. Rupert sent his apologies, as he was filming - Kimberley and Robert theirs, as they were both in Hollywood - and that's Hollywood, Los Angeles, not Holywood, just outside Belfast... So. It was clear that Lisa Barros D'Sa, Glenn Leyburn and Daragh Carville were proud to show the film to and in Belfast, as you will be able to tell from the whatever-the-word-is-for-audio-that-means-the-same-as-'footage'. At about 3:50 into the Q&A, there is a question about the altering dynamic of the relationship between Malachy, Luke and Michelle: if you find it thought provoking,...

As Belfast gears itself up for my arrival the UK Premier of Cherrybomb , tomorrow, at the Belfast Film Festival , there is a nice little article in the Belfast Telegraph's Sunday Life , including this rather lovely quote from screenwriter Daragh Carville... When auditioning began for the film, Carville never imagined landing a Hollywood icon like Grint. “We’d been auditioning for a while but Rupert really blew us out of the water,” says Carville. Many thanks to Scrib for the scan, which can be found here , in our galleries.

While you're still busy digesting the latest interview with Cherrybomb writer Daragh Carville and directors Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D'Sa, we've found two new articles mentioning Rupert Grint. One of them is a blog by Darragh Doyle, who posted a list of his must-see movies from the 2009 Jameson International Dublin Film Festival. Of course Cherrybomb is on the list, and Darragh says: "Rupert Grint, Robbie Sheehan and James Nesbitt will be in Cineworld on Friday 20 February for the screening of Cherrybomb: fast-paced Belfast based drama centering on two teenage friends whose furious rivalry for a gorgeous yet cunning girl has shocking consequences." As you know, we are still awaiting official confirmation re: Rupert's attendance, so fingers crossed!

Our next installment of the Cherrybomb interviews features directors Lisa Barros D'Sa and Glenn Leyburn and script writer Daragh Carville. They discuss Rupert Grint's Malachy and other characters, how Cherrybomb came to be, as well as the inspiration behind the film and among other amazing tidbits. Of the actors, Lisa and Glenn mention what type of actors they needed: "Despite the level of action in the plot, we always saw this as a character driven piece, and so we were looking for young actors who could bring real subtlety, intelligence, humour and truth to the characters - the three lead roles are testing in terms of the emotional range required, and we wanted actors who could draw out the subtext of their characters." Obviously Rupert's turn as Ben proved he could handle this range, even without speaking a word!

Daragh Carville, screenwriter of Rupert Grint's upcoming feature Cherrybomb, was recently interviewed (http://rupertgrint.net/?section=daraghcarvilleinterview) about the film and his work with the young Harry Potter star. He discusses Malachy's character, how Rupert portrays him, and the overall feel of the story. ---Quote--- *What can you tell us about Malachy's personality?* Malachy's a very sharp, very smart kid. When we first meet him he's doing a crappy summer job in the local leisure centre but he's doing it for very practical reasons - to earn money to go out with his mates - and he's obviously not going to be stuck there forever. He does well at school - I imagine he's one of those guys who claims he never studies but then ends up doing brilliantly at exam time. He's got his whole future ahead of him, as people keep telling him, much to his annoyance.

MGM has acquired and greenlit The Cabin in the Woods, a thriller penned by Joss Whedon (Serenity) and Drew Goddard ("Lost", Cloverfield) with Goddard signed to make his directorial debut and Whedon producing. No story details have been revealed. [Variety] Animated film Planet 51 has been picked up by TriStar Pictures for release on November 20, 2009. The film starring the voice talent of The Rock and Jessica Biel centers on an astronaut who lands on Planet 51 thinking he's the first to set foot on it. To his surprise, he discovers it's inhabited by little green people who live in a white picket-fenced world reminiscent of 1950s America. New Line originall had the project when it was announced in November of 2007, but when New Line folded into Warners it was ultimately let go. [Variety] Sam Shepard, Rosanna Arquette, Jordi Molla and French star Vincent Perez are joining Dermot Mulroney and Diane Kruger in...
