Los Angeles, Aug 12 (Ians) Actor Stephen Amell best known for his role in ‘Arrow’ as the superhero Green Arrow, has joined the picket lines of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikers just weeks after protesting their stance, as the actor had earlier proceeded to call their strike as very harmful to the industry.
The ‘Arrow’ star was spotted alongside his wife Cassandra Jean Amell in Manhattan on Friday, holding a picket sign and wearing a SAG-AFTRA Strong T-shirt. The actor had been heavily criticised for his comments against the strikers, as he had labeled it an “ineffective negotiation strategy”.
Since then though, Amell seems to have changed his stance, whether due to the high criticism he received or just a change of mind his unknown. As reported by Variety, the actor clarifying his stance said: “I support my union, I do. And I stand with them. I do not support striking.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Elseworlds, Part 2” the second part of the 2018 “Arrowverse” crossover, which aired Dec. 10.
“Arrow’s” leg of the “Elseworlds” crossover had a little more to think about than “The Flash’s,” mainly because it served as the first introduction to Ruby Rose’s Batwoman. For that, it accomplished its job. Kate Kane aka Batwoman may not have been as prominent a character in the second part of the three-night, three-episode event as originally assumed, but brought with her a lot of intrigue and proved to be a story well to which the DC on the CW series could return, regardless of whether or not she gets her own show down the line.
“Our goal was trying to create a setup, story-wise, where we could meet her, introduce Gotham a bit, plant some visual things and have people wondering, ‘What is...

While we’ve seen that the Monitor, John Deegan and a black-suited Superman (possibly Superman Prime) will serve as the antagonists in the upcoming “Elseworlds” crossover, we’ll no doubt be treated to a variety of Easter eggs pertaining to other DC villains once we get the chance to visit Gotham City.
From the look of it, Cassandra Jean Amell’s Nora Fries will be our gateway to discovery. Aside from likely dropping hints to her onscreen husband, Victor Fries Aka Mr. Freeze, it appears as though she’ll browse some shelves in Arkham Asylum containing trinkets belonging to classic Batman villains.
In fact, at least one memento from a familiar brute was confirmed in the latest gallery of images promoting the three-night event, that being Bane. Seen below, Nora can be glimpsed checking out the mercenary’s mask – and the one sported by Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises,...

By now, you’d think we’ve said all we could about the upcoming “Elseworlds” crossover, but it’s arguable there’s more intrigue and excitement going into this particular Arrowverse event than any other to have preceded it. And with just under two weeks to go until the adventure begins, we’ll undoubtedly see more news flooding the web.
So, if you’ve been keeping up with all of the assorted info, then there’s a very good chance you’re having a difficult time deciding what’s the most appealing thing about the mashup. Of course, there’s Ruby Rose making her debut as the first ever live action iteration of Batwoman, but then again, you also have Tyler Hoechlin returning as Superman – and in a black costume, no less. There are so many notable DC characters set to feature in December’s Arrowverse crossover “Elseworlds” that it’s hard to keep track of them all. For instance, something that might have slipped your mind is that Nora Fries is due to show up, as played by Arrow star Stephen Amell’s real-life wife Cassandra Jean Amell.
This week, the fan favorite actor shared our first look at Nora in the crossover, and in the process, revealed that this portrayal of Mr. Freeze’s wife will differ in one major way: she won’t be stuck in an ice cube for once. In the photo below, the character’s seen inspecting what looks to be the freeze gun frequently used by her ice-cold husband, going by the label “V. Fries” underneath it.
As Batman fans will know, Nora is typically at the center of Victor Fries’ tragic descent into villainy.

The Flash season 5 continued this week with its sixth episode, “The Icicle Cometh.” As that sounds, its biggest reveals were all to do with Caitlin’s origins, the reveal of her father Thomas Snow and where her Killer Frost alter ego comes from. The storyline also offered up a brief easter egg that will please DC fans, though, as well as potentially setting up what’ll happen in the upcoming “Elseworlds” crossover.
When Barry, Caitlin and Cisco track her estranged pops down to his secret hideaway in the North Pole, Thomas already knows the names of his daughter’s pals. It turns out that he’s been effectively spying on Caitlin to see how she was getting on with her life. The explanation he gives about this features a couple of name-drops that will cause fans’ ears to prick up, too, as he says:

If you tuned in for last night’s episode of The Flash, “The Icicle Cometh,” then you were witness to what I believe to be one of season 5’s best offerings thus far. I mean, not only was it an enjoyable viewing experience, but we also learned the true origin of Killer Frost at long last.
If you were along for the ride, then you remember when Caitlin Snow’s father, Thomas, mentioned a few scientists he’d corresponded with during his time experimenting with radical cryogenic technology. One was Harrison Wells, whom we could assume was actually Eobard Thawne, with the other two being classic DC Comics villains.
In addition to Louise Lincoln, another woman to take on the Killer Frost moniker in the source material, none other than Victor Fries was name-dropped. In a sense, the Arrowverse has finally rounded out the cold quartet consisting of Captain Cold,...

What we don’t know much about right now is how Rose will bring Batwoman’s personality to life. When The CW teased that The Flash and Arrow would be trading places during the upcoming “Elseworlds” crossover event, they weren’t kidding.
In the first promo for the annual three-night event, we see Iris West-Allen (“The Flash”) kissing Oliver Queen (“Arrow”). Wait, what? Yes, Oliver and Iris, locking lips — and then she calls him Barry Allen. Based on previous hints about this year’s Arrowverse crossover, we know Barry (Grant Gustin) and Oliver (Stephen Amell) are going to be swapping supersuits, and it looks like switching lives entirely.
The crossover will see the return of Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, the introduction of Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, and the debut of Ruby Rose’s out Batwoman. Other new cast members include Jeremy Davies as Dr. John Deegan, Lamonica Garrett as The Monitor, and Cassandra Jean Amell as Nora Fries, wife of Mr. Freeze.

Now this is more like it. Three weeks after offering fans a decidedly casual glimpse of newly-minted Lois Lane Elizabeth Tulloch alongside returning Man of Steel Tyler Hoechlin, The CW has released a far more formal portrait of the iconic pair, with the Fortress of Solitude as a backdrop.
As previously reported, Superman and Lois will unite in this year’s three-night, “Elseworlds”-themed Arrowverse crossover event, which will air Sunday, Dec. 9 through Tuesday, Dec. 11, comprised of the ninth episodes of The Flash (airing on a special night), Arrow and Supergirl (airing on a special night).

Even though it won’t feature the cast of Legends of Tomorrow – which is sitting this one out – this year’s Arrowverse crossover, titled “Elseworlds,” is set to have a humongous group of heroes, villains and everything in between. As well as the central trio of Green Arrow, the Flash and Supergirl, Ruby Rose is debuting as Batwoman, Tyler Hoechlin’s returning as Superman (as well as a dark-suited doppelganger), Elizabeth Tulloch’s joining the Arrowverse as Lois Lane, John Wesley Shipp’s back in red as the 1990s Flash and the list goes on.
Now, we’ve got yet another new cast member to look forward to. The 100‘s Bob Frazer will turn up in “Elseworlds” as Roger Hayden Aka Psycho-Pirate, the classic DC comics supervillain. The Arrowverse crossover’s latest addition is a real psycho: Bob Frazer will guest-star during the three-night “Elseworlds” event as Arkham Asylum inmate Roger Hayden, TVLine has learned.
In the DC Comics’ Prime Earth universe, Hayden was known as Psycho-Pirate, a member of the Secret Society of Super-Villains who wore a Medusa mask that could manipulate emotions. The mask eventually drove Hayden insane. The Flash‘s Season 5 premiere made reference to Hayden/Psycho-Pirate, who is quoted in Iris’ article about the speedster’s disappearance in the future.

The Arrowverse shows have always liked to keep it in the family. Melissa Benoist’s ex-husband Blake Jenner appeared on Supergirl season 1, Brandon Routh’s wife Courtney Ford has played Nora Darhk on Legends of Tomorrow for the past couple of seasons and now, Stephen Amell’s real-life partner Cassandra Jean Amell is joining the DC shared universe for a role in the upcoming “Elseworlds” crossover.
What’s more, she’s playing a familiar part in DC lore. Amell will portray Nora Fries in the three-episode event, the character most known as the frozen wife of Batman villain Mr. Freeze who has a deadly disease that Victor’s trying to cure. It’s unknown exactly what role the Arrowverse’s Nora will have in “Elseworlds,” but it’s likely that she’ll get more to do than float around in a tube of ice.

This year’s Arrowverse crossover, titled “Elseworlds,” will see the debut of Ruby Rose as Batwoman. And what that means is that apart from getting an awesome new heroine added to the shared universe’s roster, we’ll also travel to Gotham City for the first time in any of these shows. Naturally, the crossover will pay a visit to one of the most iconic locations from Batman’s hometown: Arkham Asylum.
And now, over on Twitter, Arrowverse Ep Marc Guggenheim has revealed our first look at the famous setting, teasing a fun easter egg in the process. The showrunner posted a shot of a grimy Arkham cell door, marked with a familiar name: “Guggenheim, M.” He then joked in his caption: “I’ve encouraged a lot of Easter Eggs in this year’s crossover, but this might be going too far.”

Holy Shipp! This latest sneak peek from the Arrowverse’s “Elseworlds” crossover event is the most exciting one yet: Executive producer Marc Guggenheim on Monday posted a picture of John Wesley Shipp suited up in his original Flash costume, tweeting, “After seven years, this just might be the coolest thing we’ve ever done.”
Shipp, who plays father to Grant Gustin on The Flash, formerly portrayed speedster Barry Allen on CBS’ short-lived Flash series from 1990 to 1991. In addition to Guggenheim’s behind-the-scenes gift, Gustin also shared a doozy of a group shot: Melissa Benoist as Supergirl, Stephen Amell as The Flash,...

The CW on Tuesday unfurled the poster for this year’s three-night, Legends-less Arrowverse crossover event, and it will have you looking at Green Arrow and The Flash in a whole new way.
The “Elseworlds” theme is a nod to the DC Comics imprint that served up storylines that perhaps existed outside of regular continuity. Ergo the poster’s “Destiny Will Be Rewritten” tagline.
But where is Supergirl, the third piece of the crossover? (Dare we hope that she and Batwoman have swapped alter egos in this narrative??)

The first look at Tyler Hoechlin’s new Superman suit is here. “Arrow” star Stephen Amell shared a photo of his Arrowverse crossover co-star on Monday. And Hoechlin’s Supes suit is all black this time.
In the photo, Hoechlin is standing in the middle of Amell and “The Flash” star Grant Gustin, hands on his hips and smiling. And he has traded out the blue-and-red outfit he wore previously on “Supergirl.”
Hoechlin will be reprising his Superman role in all three episodes of the crossover, which this year is titled “Elseworlds.” Elizabeth Tulloch will also be in the crossover as Lois Lane. And aside from introducing the world to Ruby Rose’s Batwoman, it seems there’s something else in store that’ll get people talking as well.

The Exploding Head emojis that Arrow star Stephen Amell attached to his latest tweet, from behind-the-scenes at this year’s Arrowverse crossover shoot, pretty much say it all.
With production now underway on the three-night, Legends-less crossover, Amell shared the photo below which reveals Tyler Hoechlin, who will appear in all three episodes, to be donning Superman’s black suit. (Throughout his previous Supergirl visits, the character went with the traditional red-and-blue duds.)
Eagle-eyed fans, however, are gravitating more to what Amell and Flash counterpart Grant Gustin are revealed to be wearing: matching black pants (with wallet chains!) and studded biker boots.

For several years now, the Arrowverse certainly hasn’t been shy when it comes to fleshing out the Multiverse. In fact, last year’s crossover event, “Crisis on Earth-x,” really took that concept to new heights. But now that we know of how this fall’s offering has been dubbed “Elseworlds,” it’s expected that a wealth of new storytelling possibilities will open up.
So, if you required something else assuring you how grand in scale this three-night special will be, it’s worth knowing that Lamonica Garrett has been cast as Mar Novu Aka The Monitor. Readers of DC comic books will instantly recognize this character as part of a race of beings who oversee the Multiverse as a whole, so you’d better believe that his involvement is a pretty big deal.

The upcoming annual crossover event of Warner Bros TV’s superhero shows on The CW will have a backdrop concept of Elseworlds, which suggests the three-night story may be a stand-alone “What if?”-type story separate from the familiar and ongoing mythology.

Garrett will play The Monitor, a character with a “prominent role” in the crossover’s plot, which we already know will see Supergirl, The Flash and Green Arrow headed to Gotham City (not to mention the return of Superman and the introduction of both Lois Lane and Batwoman).

The Monitor was created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez as part of DC Comics’ 50th Anniversary. Mr. Pérez will be illustrating a sketch of the Monitor that plays a prominent role in the crossover’s story.”
