Here's a really strange random fact about me: I grew up with emetophobia, the intense fear of vomit and vomiting. The very idea of blowing chunks got my anxiety going, which is what makes my deep, abiding love for "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" kind of hilarious. You see, there is a lot of vomiting, gagging, and spitting up on "It's Always Sunny." There are some amazing puke-filled moments, of course, like Charlie (Charlie Day) spewing all over his date because he swallowed fake blood capsules, or Dennis (Glenn Howerton) barfing while dancing because he did a bunch of shots rapid-fire. It turns out that in the right circumstances, vomit can be really funny, and in the case of "It's Always Sunny," the funniest yakking usually comes courtesy of Sweet Dee, played by Kaitlin Olson.
Dee is often the one put through the grossest of gags, like getting stuck in...

Charlie Day is making his directorial debut with "Fool's Paradise," a scathing love letter to Hollywood that features one of Ray Liotta's final performances. The ambitious comedian also wrote and starred in the film. It might seem like a lot to take on for a first-time filmmaker, but Day has been taking on all of these roles for years on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," the longest-running live-action sitcom to date. The multi-hyphenate talent has had more than enough training for his first feature, and he has his successful FX series to thank.
The boundary-pushing comedy series was created by Day and his friends Rob McElhenney and Glenn Howerton, both of whom co-star in the series as well. All three have stayed incredibly hands-on throughout their nearly two decades on air and have each written about a third of the episodes. "When you don't like a 'Sunny' episode,...

"I think we can call today's experiment a success!" Hulu has revealed an official trailer for Sex Appeal, a romantic comedy movie made for the streaming service. It's opening this January, which is not the best time to drop this but it also might find its audience streaming online anyway. Starring Mika Abdalla, Jake Short, Mason Versaw, Paris Jackson, Margaret Cho, Fortune Feimster, Rebecca Henderson, Tate Hanyok, Hayden Szeto, and Artemis Pebdani. This looks like some good fun discussing sex and opening up the conversation in a smart and confident way. Campy but it all kinda works?...

New Delhi, Dec 4 (Ians) Hollywood star Isla Fisher finds a lot of fairytales offensive as they push gender stereotypes or show women as damsels in distress. Fisher says she tweaks such stories while reading out to her children.
"I think a lot of the fairytale stories are a little bit offensive," Fisher said while opening up about what sort of fairytales she reads to her children.

So, who could use a little magic? This year, who couldn’t, even with just a few weeks left in 2020? We’re not talking about luck or “good fortune”, but rather the sprinkly, sparkly spells that come straight from witches, pixies, and wizards. Sure, that’s the stuff of faerie tales, but wouldn’t it be great if that mythology had some real-life basis? Sweet, huh? Now other than big blue “motor-mouthed” genies, who’s the big “wish-granter”? Just ask the dazzling blonde rockin’ those glass slippers. She’ll tell you from first-hand knowledge that it’s pretty great to be Godmothered. But would that “fly” today, even using lotsa’ pixie dust?
That question is answered in the new film by taking a trip to another dimension. Where do faerie godmothers come from? Why Motherland, of course. But things are pretty dismal there, as 21st century Earth folk just don...

It takes a village to last 14 seasons and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has a town full of wonderful, recurring weirdos.
You don’t get to 14 seasons without a strong core of a cast. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has that in place with Glenn Howerton, Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, and Danny DeVito. Still, one of the underappreciated aspects of the show’s success is the large cast of recurring weirdos that also populate Dennis, Mac, Charlie, Dee, and Frank’s world.

A review of “Holding,” this week’s Better Things, coming up just as soon as I take your paper clips…
Sam Fox has two jobs in this world: actress and mom. Better Things tends to emphasize the latter, establishing that the former is just what Sam does to pay the bills. Whatever magic Hollywood might have had for her (or for Pamela Adlon) as a kid has long since been overwhelmed by the frustrating realities of the business. Perhaps most exasperating of all is the way that Sam has learned to treat it as,...

“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”‘s 13th season is getting topical with episodes that take on the Time’s Up movement against sexual harassment, as well as the broader Women’s March for female rights and gay pride.
“I’m just glad that we [explored Time’s Up], and made a comedic take on it. This show’s so amazing to me because if you’re not paying attention, you’re just entertained and it’s really funny. If you are paying attention it’s really funny and smart and we’re making social commentary,” star Kaitlin Olson told Variety at the premiere event Tuesday.
Olson said she was impressed when she read the episode’s script because she loved that Dee never takes the stance people think she should, but her efforts don’t pan out the way viewers expect.

When “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” returns Wednesday, September 5, we’ll see the show do something it’s only rarely done in the past: be sincere. In an episode from Season 13, previewed for critics at the Television Critics Association press tour Friday, Frank (Danny Devito) learns to be more accepting of Mac’s (Rob McElhenney) sexuality, which Mac explores with a jaw-dropping modern dance performance.
The episode, entitled “Mac Finds His Pride” is all part of the strategy for the new batch of episodes, which will feature less of Dennis (Glenn Howerton) following Howerton’s decision at the end of Season 12 to step back a bit from the long-running FX comedy.
Dennis is not completely absent from the season — “he’s in the majority of [episodes],” executive producer/star Charlie Day said — but more episodes will focus on other characters, including what’s billed as an “all-female reboot” of the...

Don’t look to today’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia tweets — with new key art and a teaser promo — for answers on whether Glenn Howerton’s Dennis will be on the show when it returns September 5 for Season 13 on Fxx.
But there are clues on this Friday the 13th. Sorta.
In the new key art, Sunny‘s Charlie Day, Rob McElhenney, Danny DeVito and Kaitlin Olson are pictured, in slasher-flick style, running terrified from a secluded cabin. In the background, on the cabin porch, is an ax-wielding, hockeymask-wearing maniac. Could the Jason Voorhees wannabe be the gang’s Dennis?
Very possibly, given Dennis’ well-established sociopathic tendencies and serial killer fantasies. But more to the point, does his background placement signal a reduction in Howerton’s presence on the comedy? The actor’s NBC sitcom A.P. Bio was renewed in May for a second season.

When It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns for its 13th season on Wednesday, September 5, Glenn Howerton’s creepy Dennie Reynolds won’t be at his usual Paddy’s Pub stool or even in his video-equipped bedroom.
Here’s how Fxx made the announcement of the show’s return: “The Gang Returns… mostly…. in the 13th season of the Fxx original comedy series It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Mac (Rob McElhenney), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Frank (Danny DeVito) return to their duplicitous, scheming ways at Paddy’s Pub, while Dennis (Glenn Howerton) takes on the new role of father in North Dakota.”
When last seen, Howerton’s Dennis had told the gang that he was leaving to take part in the life of his newly discovered infant son. In real life, Howerton is now starring in NBC’s A.P. Bio, which has been renewed for a second season.

"Who is this person? Has Donny approved of him?" Magnolia Pictures has debuted an official trailer for an indie comedy titled I Love You Both, from writer/director Doug Archibald. The film follows two twins, Krystal and Donny, who have been codependent their entire lives, still living together in a converted one bedroom house. They both meet and start dating the same nice guy, and are forced to figure out what to do with their lives on their own. Kristin Archibald and Doug Archibald star as Krystal and Donny, along with Lucas Neff as Andy, Artemis Pebdani, Angela Trimbur, Kate Berlant, Justin Michael Terry, and Charlene Archibald. This looks quirky and spunky and sweet, but hopefully not too campy. Have fun. The Episode | “Mad City: The Gentle Art of Making Enemies” (Jan. 30, 2017)

On Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 Episode 12, Oswalt's Agent Koenig was back. As was Agent Koenig. And Agent Koenig. And – surprise! – Agent Koenig's sassy sister, L.T., otherwise known as "the original Koenig." Didn't see that one coming, did you?
Considering that "android" was always the most obvious explanation as for why there appeared to be an army of Agent Koenigs (clones being the other option regularly debated by fans), it was inevitable that Koenig and Kompany would resurface during the Lmd storyline.
The opening scene, featuring Oswalt quoting iconic lines from Back to the Future and Star Wars while wheeling around an arcade on a hoverboard, was an ideal way to be reintroduced to the character, who always brings a welcome dose of levity to S.H.I.E.L.

As one of the boldest and bravest new comedies this season (and, maybe, of the last few years), Fox’s new single-camera sitcom Son of Zorn disappointingly falls back on a few expected sources of humor in a way that all-too-often negates the bravura, bananas premise of the show. Set initially in the far-off island land of Zephyria, Son of Zorn eventually migrates into the real world – California in particular – while keeping the animated sprites of anything related to Zephyria’s Saturday morning, G.I. Joe day-dreamscape very much intact.
There’s wonder in that, in the way that co-creators Reed Agnew and Eli Jorne constantly come up with interesting and surprising bits of Zephyria to throw into the real world, but the wonder stops short of awe – and awesomeness – for every dud of a joke. And, in a comedy pilot, there’s...

As the battle rages among the plethora of TV networks, one of the main points each seems to aim for is to become, at least in part, its own niche, with a certain kind of show becoming part of its brand. Fox’s effort is difficult to put a label on, which is somehow part of the label.
With shows like The Last Man on Earth, Scream Queens, Wayward Pines, and Sleep Hollow, not to mention the crossbranding with FX and Fxx, if there’s a truly bonkers premise out there, the chances are it’s on Fox.
It’s hard to go further down that road than Son of Zorn, which sets out to relay the life and times of Zorn (voiced by Jason Sudeikis), resident and protector of an island of cartoon characters who are in constant battle with cartoon villains. The story begins as Zorn is about...
