Two more huge names are helping out with the Super Bowl 53 halftime show -- Lil Jon and Jermaine Dupri -- this according to mega-producer Jazze Pha. Pha is a producing legend who's from Atl and is one of the most plugged-in people in town -- and when we saw him at Lax, he told us he had just come back from halftime show rehearsals. New Orleans rapper and Cash Money signee Young Greatness, real name Theodore Jones, was fatally shot early Monday morning outside of a Waffle House, according to local reports. He was 34.
Young Greatness was best known for his 2015 hit “Moolah,” which was released by Atlanta’s Quality Control Records, current home to the Migos and Lil Yachty. Produced by Jazze Pha, it’s a unique take on trap music, melding the melody-forward approach that’s defined New Orleans music for generations with the straightforward, slow trap drums that continue to define the center of modern hip-hop.

Former OutKast member Andre 3000 makes a rare guest spot on the new T.I. track "Sorry," from T.I.'s upcoming "Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head." Over a sparse track featuring a number of keys and synths and some subtly funky bass from producer Jazze Pha, T.I. brags about his hustle, his money, his college grades and the fact that it's his time to shine. With a line like "Never mind what the blogs say/do what my mind and my heart say," T.I. doesn't sound like he feels the need to apologize for any of his success. Then the relatively reclusive Andre 3000 arrives and blows the track wide...

But is it any good? Preview Zolciak’s single below.
Now, it’s been well-documented on this blog that, if loving Real Housewives music is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

Before the incredible cross-cultural smash that is "F--- You," and even before he teamed up with DJ Danger Mouse for the psychedelic pleasure cruise that was Gnarls Barkley, Cee Lo Green was simply an esoteric guy from Atlanta who used to be in a hip-hop group. His raspy, croon-ready flow always stood out among the voices in Goodie Mob, and when the group decided to part ways, Cee Lo was the first member to try his hand at a solo career. He dropped his solo debut Cee Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections hit hard in 2002, but on his second album Cee Lo Green ... The-Dream has run off his Twitter page, following the footsteps of Emma Roberts. While the niece of Julia Roberts was scared of Robert Pattinson's die-hard fans, the 28 year-old rapper/producer decided to remove his page reportedly after he was showered with angry tweets from Ciara's devotees.
The-Dream upset Ciara's fans following his comment on Parlour magazine which mentioned that Ciara's upcoming album "Basic Instinct" will be her last shot at pop stardom. "I think so. You only get so many times to, and I won't say fail, but not achieve," he said in the interview.
"There's an expectation of where Ciara should be in her career. To others, she's achieved but not to us, because we saw where her career was headed. But now she's back on the horse. When she first came out I, like Lil Jon and Jazze Pha, understood exactly who she was. It was that...

He violated the terms of his probation, and at a time when he should be on the road promoting, Gucc is behind bars. Onstage, on the red carpet and backstage during Sunday night's Michael Jackson-dedicated Bet Awards, artists young and old — from elder statesmen the O'Jays to 23-year-old Ciara — shared their personal memories of the King of Pop. They spoke of their reverence for the man, his eccentric tendencies and how even the biggest of stars can get panicky in front of a musical legend.
"I actually talked to him on the phone," Ciara said backstage at a press conference after the show ended. "He was doing a song for Hurricane Katrina, and he wanted me to be a part of it."
She was so nervous in anticipation of the call that she turned up her music to calm herself and didn't hear the phone ring.

If you buy an album, you can call it whatever you want — at least R. Kelly thinks so. In February, Kelly partied in Atlanta club the Velvet Room with Jazze Pha, DJ Infamous and others and told the crowd that his new album didn't have a name.
"Atl, what's up? I got my little brother right here, Jazze Pha," he said, standing in the VIP balcony. "I'm out here working on the mutha----in' album. I'm working on a new album, and I'm calling that mutha----a Untitled. Y'all call it what y'all want."
On Monday, the Pied Piper of R&B told MTV News why he decided to go the Nas route when titling his LP.
"I've been in the biz 17 years, so everyone is used to me naming my records,...

The fellas know we're repping for them, and the ladies love us like a Tory Burch sample sale — Mixtape Daily is still here, still strong. Today is bugged out, because the focus is on a few people who aren't exactly synonymous with the mixtape game. First, R. Kelly's been adding his legendary vocal ability to unofficial remixes of records such as Drake's "Best I Ever Had" and Jeremih's "Birthday Sex." Well, he has a whole tape of those kinds of records and some original joints as well.
Then, the homie Jd obviously has been putting out his own mixtapes for years, but he's coming at a new angle this time. Jermaine Dupri wrangled his guys Tyrone Davis (Jd's personal assistant), Usher,...

Slain rapper worked with Akon and T-Pain and had his first record deal when he was just 12 years old.

Dolla

Dolla often spoke about staying focused on his music despite life's many tragedies. He told Xxl magazine last year about how his mother had to battle cancer, his younger brother died at birth and his father committed suicide; Dolla was just 5 years old when he witnessed his dad taking his own life. Fifteen years later, in 2008, the then-20-year-old Dolla was out promoting his upcoming album and new single when he spoke to satellite-radio host Angela Yee about how he wanted to get his older sister out of prison.
That tragic streak continued when Dolla was fatally shot in Los Angeles on Monday night. He was 21 years old. While the up-and-coming rapper had worked with big names like Akon and T-Pain, he...

New York — Jazze Pha helped Ciara shape her sound when she was a burgeoning star. Now that the fleet-footed singer is all grown up, she's turned to another Atlanta producer to helm her recently released Fantasy Ride: Christopher "Tricky" Stewart.
The Grammy winner is best known for his work with The-Dream (the pair wrote and produced Rihanna's "Umbrella," Mariah Carey's "Touch My Body" and many other hits), but he has a long history in not only the music industry, but with Ciara, as well. She met him when she was just 15 and calls him a big brother.
"I learned a lot from him, but one thing I never did was work with him," Ciara told MTV News over the weekend in Manhattan. "So now, on this record,...

Asher Roth, who got into mainstream rap scene after being featured in DJ Drama-helmed mixtape "The Greenhouse Effect", steals public attention as "I Love College", the first single off his major-label debut album "Asleep in the Bread Aisle", climbs to number 14 on Billboard Hot 100. He has released the song in February and described it as a "very autobiographical" track.
"That song is very autobiographical," Asher says. "I spent two years in college, and I'm sure if I would have spent four, I would have been like, 'I hate college!' But I got two years in, partied a lot, had a good time, enjoyed myself, and really found out who I was as a person."
Though excited of "I Love College" impressive chart performance, Asher insists that he does "not want to base [his] entire career off of" the song. He shares, "Now it's time for me to really build off of that.
