Jacob Elordi has emerged as a fan-favorite pick to play Gambit in live-action, and this new artwork from 21x4 imagines the Euphoria breakout as the X-Men's Ragin' Cajun with a dark, X-Men '97-inspired twist.
The image gives Elordi Gambit's signature bandana, trench coat and glowing eyes, but with one side of his face faded into a skull. This is a reference to the character's death in episode 5 of the Disney+ animated series, "Remember It."
Gambit hasn't fared very well in live-action so far. Taylor Kitsch made a brief appearance as Remy LeBeau in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and while he did a decent enough job with what he had to work with, it wasn't exactly a memorable debut.
Later, Channing Tatum was all set to play another take on the mutant hero in a solo Gambit movie, but the plug was pulled when Disney took over 20th Century Fox's assets.

Marvel Studios is said to be very close to announcing a writer (or writers) for the long-awaited X-Men movie, and we may know which scribes have emerged as Kevin Feige and co.'s top picks to pen the reboot.
According to Jeff Sneider on the latest episode of The Hot Mic, Rafe Judkins and Michael Lesslie are in the mix to write the script. He believes these two are the finalists to land the gig, but notes that other writers may still be in contention.
Judkins previously worked on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Tom Holland-led Uncharted movie, and more recently served as the showrunner for Amazon’s Wheel of Time adaptation. Lesslie, meanwhile, penned the screenplay for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and 2016's Assassin’s Creed movie.

Marvel Studios Reportedly Eyes Ryan Coogler to Direct X-Men Reboot - Main Image
Marvel Studios reportedly prepares for the much-awaited X-Men reboot after Disney acquired its rights from 20 Century Fox in 2019. Though details about this highly-anticipated project remain under wraps, the studio is allegedly eyeing Ryan Coogler to direct the film.
Coogler has been known for creating critically acclaimed and commercially successful movies, like the 2018 Black Panther.
The film didn’t just break numerous box office records, becoming the highest-grossing film of all time by an African American director.
But it also brought the franchise three Oscar wins and several nominations, including Best Picture, a first for a superhero movie.
That said, it would be no surprise if Marvel chooses Coogler to helm its X-Men reboot.

With its half-a-billion dollar price tag, Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was meant to be the big event series of 2022, billed as the next Game of Thrones. Instead, it lacked critical and commercial acclaim. With the outstanding source material behind it and credible actors in front of the camera, there was enough intrigue to draw viewers in, but it lacked in visual grandeur and details that would’ve elevated it into something more, something better. Meanwhile, a year prior, the same streaming service debuted another adaptation of a popular fantasy series, The Wheel of Time. The series, adapted by Rafe Judkins, succeeded where The Rings of Power failed to deliver, resulting in a superior fantasy saga.

Sony Pictures Television Studios president Katherine Pope says the company is being “methodical and thoughtful” about which video game IPs it turns into television series.
“We are so lucky to have such a strong relationship with our partners at PlayStation, and we absolutely are continuing to build more and more series together. That said, we are being pretty methodical and thoughtful about it,” Pope told TheWrap. “This IP is so special and valuable that we would rather take our time and get it right, than rush and get it wrong. So far, we have strong teams working on ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ and ‘God of War.’ I wish I could tell you more about them, but I’m sworn to secrecy!”
Sony’s recent TV credits include HBO’s Emmy-nominated hit “The Last of Us” and the live-action adaptation of “Twisted Metal,” premiering Thursday on Peacock.

Prime Video released the official key art from the second season of ‘The Wheel of Time’. Based on the best-selling Robert Jordan fantasy series The Wheel of Time, Rand al’Thor learns he is The Dragon Reborn – a dangerous figure from history destined to save the world … or break it. Desperate to protect him from the Dark One, an army of powerful women must reckon with his burgeoning power and encroaching madness.
The Wheel of Time turns, and the Last Battle approaches. Though Rand thought he destroyed the Dark One, evil is not gone from the world. In Season Two, threats new and very old seek out the young friends from the Two Rivers, now scattered over the world. The woman who found and guided them is now powerless to help, and so they must find other sources of strength. In each other, or themselves. In the Light… or the Dark.

Adapting The Wheel of Time‘s narrative for TV is no doubt no easy feat, and the man behind it all is Rafe Judkins. He’s the showrunner and executive producer of the Amazon Prime Video series. In a nutshell, he’s in charge of overseeing the entire production of the show. Needless to say, he’s quite up to the task with shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Chuck under his belt. Being a longtime fan of The Wheel of Time book series for many years, it makes sense that he’s been adapting it for television since 2018. Part of that entails implementing certain changes...

"Past Lives" is a heartfelt film about two childhood friends, separated by hemispheres at 12 years old, who end up reconnecting over 20 years later. Although there's still clearly something there between Nora (Greta Lee) and Hae Sung (Teo Yoo), adult Nora is now happily married. It's a messy situation, one that director/writer Celine Song handles in a consistently thoughtful, captivating way.
What makes this movie even more impressive is that it is Celine Song's directorial debut. Although she's written and directed plays and worked as a staff writer on "The Wheel of Time," it's still almost hard to believe, watching "Past Lives," that this was made by a first-time filmmaker. /Film got the chance to talk to Song about the challenges that came with switching over to the medium of film, and some of the creative choices she made in the process.
Note: This interview has been lightly edited for clarity and brevity.

Boy! Amazon is putting plenty of firepower behind its God of War TV series. According to reports, Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins and The Expanse creators Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby are adapting the award-winning Playstation game. Fergus and Ostby will write the series and executive produce alongside Judkins.
The God of War series revolves around Kratos, the demigod son of Zeus, and a mortal woman named Callisto. After exacting vengeance against the Gods of Olympus, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse Gods and monsters. In this harsh, unforgiving world, he must fight to survive and teach his son to do the same.
“God of War is a compelling, character-driven franchise that we believe will captivate our global customers as much with its expansive and immersive worlds as its rich storytelling,” Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studios, said in a statement.

The Dad of War is coming to television. Well, streaming television. Amazon Prime Video has ordered a series adaptation of the PlayStation action video-game series “God of War,” it was announced Wednesday.
First created in 2005, the “God of War” franchise focuses on Kratos, a Spartan warrior who becomes the god of war after taking revenge on the original god Ares for the death of his family, and eventually wages war on the entire Greek pantheon. The Prime Video series will be based on the two most recent games in the franchise: 2018’s “God of War” and last month’s “God of War: Ragnarök,” which saw Kratos leave Greece for the Norse realm of Midgard.
The storyline of the show will see Kratos, after the death of his second wife Faye, setting off on a journey with his son Atreus to spread her ashes from the highest peak of the realm.

Prime Video’s panel for The Wheel of Time held on October 7, 2022 at the New York Comic Con featured plenty of interesting tidbits on season two. Showrunner Rafe Judkins joined cast members Marcus Rutherford (“Perrin Aybara”), Madeleine Madden (“Egwene Al’Vere”), Daniel Henney (“Lan Mandragoran”), Dónal Finn (“Mat Cauthon”), and Ceara Coveney (“Elayne Trakand”) on stage at Javits Center to share some of what’s in store for the highly anticipated new season.
Judkins said season two will include a dive into the Seanchan world and will take the story through the end of Robert Jordan’s third book in The Wheel of Time series. Key characters will be going on journeys on their own, rather than the group dynamics we saw in season one. Judkins also promised that after the hard work of setting up this world in the first season, season two will allow viewers to spend more...
