It's been an interesting year for Hallmark with the premieres of The Way Home and Ride and countless feel-good movies.
Despite initially touting Ride as a success story, the cabler has quietly opted to part ways with the rodeo family drama.
Ride tells the story of a multigenerational family ensemble and follows the lives of the McMurrays, part of a rodeo dynasty going back a generation, as they struggle to keep their beloved ranch afloat.
"After a tragic loss, each character embarks on an empowering journey of transformation and self-discovery while also uncovering a twisted web of secrets, threatening to tear the family and their small Colorado town apart at the seams," Hallmark teased in anticipation of the series debut.
Ride also had a decent cast that came from TV Fanatic fan-favorite series, so there was every indication it would be a success story.

With the first season of Ride well underway on Hallmark Channel, why not get to know the family at the heart of it a bit better? TV Insider sat down with Nancy Travis (Isabel McMurray), Beau Mirchoff (Cash McMurray), and Tiera Skovbye (Missy McMurray). Their characters are part of a small-town family keeping their ranch afloat and their place in the rodeo alive following the death of Marcus Rosner’s Austin. And so we decided to see which character is “most likely to…” to find out more. It wasn’t quite that easy for them to determine who’s most likely to sacrifice it all for family, since that’s something so important to all of them. “Family’s definitely the brass ring of this show. And it’s not just the people you’re related to. It’s the family of the community,” Travis says. That being said, would...

Tiera Skovbye has played many dramatic roles on television, including Robyn on Once Upon a Time and Polly Cooper on Riverdale. Playing Missy McMurray on Ride challenged her because it was different than her previous roles.
TV Fanatic chatted with Tiera about what's relatable about the female-forward series, Missy's potential romance with Cash, and Missy's Frontier gig.
Check out the interview below.
Hi Tiera. I've been a big fan of yours. Can you tell me your favorite part of playing Missy McMurray so far?
I have loved playing Missy. She's such a dynamic character with so much going on. She's dealing with grief and self-discomfort and figuring out who she is, what she wants, and her passions. Playing her has just been so much fun because there's so much to work with.
Missy, Isabel, and Valera are strong women trying to rebuild their lives. How do you think that resonates with audiences?...

TV’s latest family dynasty show is on the Hallmark Channel, and it’s not exactly like others out there: These characters won’t be stabbing each other in the back so fast or easily. Ride follows the McMurrays, a small-town ranching family. Nancy Travis plays matriarch Isabel, who, after losing her husband, has kept the ranch afloat and raised their sons. After one (Marcus Rosner’s Austin) dies in a rodeo accident, Tiera Skovbye’s Missy is left a widow, and she and Isabel work together to keep things going — and help as Isabel’s son Cash (Beau Mirchoff) steps into Austin’s shoes. Complicating matters? What may or may not be brewing between Missy and Cash. When TV Insider asked Travis, Mirchoff, and Skovbye on which other family dynasty shows their characters would fare best and worst on, it was much easier for them to choose the latter.

It looks like Hallmark Channel is trying to catch some of that Yellowstone fever with the series premiere of its new rodeo family drama Ride.

Spoiler Alert! This story reveals plot point from the March 26 series premiere of Ride on Hallmark.
It takes place on a bucolic but cash-strapped ranch that’s operated by a widowed parent who loses a beloved family member in the premiere episode — all while everyone looks straight-up sexy in their Wranglers and cowboy boots.
But that’s where the similarities to Yellowstone end for Hallmark’s Ride, insists Sherri Cooper-Landsman, who showruns the new drama about a rodeo dynasty with Rebecca Boss and Chris Masi (Our Kind of People).
“For me, it was just this beautiful ranch setting with a family going through stuff that a family goes through,” Cooper-Landsman tells Deadline of Ride. “And to be honest, I hadn’t even watched Yellowstone, so I did not even think about that. It just was this beautiful setting and a worlds that Becky [Rebecca] really knew so well.

The 2000 hit Bring It On was turned into a franchise after doing well at the box office and earning a place among other iconic teen movies. Yet with five so-so sequels under its skirt, each one more or less performing the same routine as the original, it makes sense for the series to try something new. The latest Bring It On scores big points for stepping outside the box and attempting to reinvent itself, but this genre outing has a less than perfect dismount.
Bring It On: Cheer or Die (originally titled Bring It On: Halloween) marks a first in the franchise; the seventh installment is touted as a horror movie. And with slashers being popular again, it seems only natural for the cheerleaders at Elk Moore High to be the targets of a depraved and disguised killer. Before any actual slashing takes place, though, the story opens with a flashback.

Ever since Hallmark decided to end Good Witch after seven seasons and countless movies, there have been questions about whether the franchise could resurface.
The franchise was headlined by Catherine Bell but came to an abrupt conclusion last summer.
Thankfully, Hallmark is not ruling out any future projects set in the Good Witch-verse, as well as Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

There will be a more extended hiatus than usual between seasons.
The beloved Hallmark drama series typically returns during the first quarter of the year, but that will be changing for When Calls the Heart Season 10.
Hallmark Media Exec VP President of Programming Lisa Hamilton Daily revealed at the Television Critics Tour today that the series is on track to return in the middle of 2023.
Deadline reported the news.
There has been much uncertainty surrounding the fate of the series recently.
Hallmark typically renews the show around the same time the series is airing, but we didn't get an official Season 10 pickup until a month after When Calls the Heart Season 9 wrapped.
"When Calls the Heart continues to push the limits as to what we can achieve with this show," Daily said when the show landed the pickup.

The Hallmark Channel is getting into the world of the rodeo with one of its upcoming new series, and for its cast, the network has lassoed stars from The Kominsky Method, Good Trouble, and Riverdale. Nancy Travis, Tiera Skovbye, Beau Mirchoff, Sara Garcia, Jake Foy, and Tyler Jacob Moore will star in Ride. The series, set to air in 2023, is now in production in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It follows the McMurrays — part of a rodeo dynasty going back a generation — as they try to keep their ranch afloat and save their land. A tragic loss leads to everyone going on “an empowering journey of transformation and self-discovery” while the story also reveals “a twisted web of secrets” that might not just tear apart the family, but their small town in Colorado as well. Skovbye (from Riverdale), Travis (The Kominsky Method), and Garcia play the three women of the McMurray clan.
