Lana Veenker, who served as casting director for 2008's Twilight, has been a champion at making the public aware of the fact that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn casting call claims are false. For instance, she was the one who exposed the fact that the film is not yet in production earlier this week. Recently, too, she appeared on a radio show to illuminate some of the details of supposed casting calls that are actually just money-grabbing schemes. You can hear what she has to say about that in the video below...

It's been said once, twice, and a third time for good measure, but unfortunately it must be said again: there is no open casting call for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn in place. Directly from former Twilight casting director Lana Veenker: "Breaking Dawn is not yet in production. When it does go into production, professional casting directors will be hired to cast it. Any website or company claiming that they can get you an audition for Breaking Dawn and then asks for Any money whatsoever is not a real casting company." The warning has beco ...

At present, there are two certainties with regard to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. The first known fact is that the film has as yet not received the green light. The second is that there are plenty of "sources" out there who would have you believe that it has received the green light - particularly to coax Twilight fans into paying gobs of money to respond to "casting calls." These sort of scandals have been brought to light, in detail, by former Twilight casting director Lana Veenker. Since the content of the e-mail is so thorough and articulate, there's no need for further adieu. Here's what Veenker had to ...

Contrary to the swirling rumor, "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn" has yet to receive a green light. Providing the denial was Gossip Cop which has come out with a claim that "as of now, nothing is official." The site further quoted a Summit rep as saying, "The film has not been greenlit - and thus no decisions about the film's shooting location, start date, the director, etc...have been made."
The rumor that the production of "Breaking Dawn" has got the thumbs up was sparked by Acting-Auditions.org on Saturday, October 10. In the report, the blog claimed that Sunswept Entertainment was brought in by Summit as a second production company, and that casting call for other roles like Renesmee Cullen is likely. Accordingly, it reported that the filming which will take place in Portland, Oregon won't begin until September 2010.

Chances are, if you're a Twilight series fan on Twitter, you've heard a thing or two about a supposed casting call for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Short answer to a question of legitimacy? False. It all started this morning when a blogger (who, by the way, was also incorrect about casting information on The Host) posted "information" about a casting call for the fourth (/fifth?) Twilight series film, Breaking Dawn. According to his report, Summit Entertainment greenlit the project, was bringing on a second production company entitled Sunswept Entertainment, and was likely to be casting for parts like Renesmee and others. Afterward, though, Lana Veenker (who served as casting director on Twilight) issued a statement that "we have not yet been contacted by production about this possibility and have not been hired to provide casting services." Also, the Gossip Cop stated that "as of now, nothing is official." Continued Gossip Cop,...

Okay – so you’re not going to replace Kristen Stewart as Bella or Robert Pattinson as Edward (would you really want to anyway?), but it has been announced that the casting folks responsible for the much talked about sequel to Twilight, New Moon are looking for some fresh talent. The actual roles being cast haven’t been confirmed by the suits at Summit Entertainment, the distributor behind the Stephenie Meyer adaptations yet this hasn’t stopped New Moon gossip spreading like wildfire. High School Musical songbird Vanessa Hudgens was rumoured to be auditioning for the part of Leah Clearwater (itself not a huge part in New Moon) and Brit actress Sophia Myles (Tristan + Isolde) has been suggested by MTV as a possible choice for vampire Irina. So far no established stars have signed up, but you could if you fit the bill…

We all acknowledge that Hollywood is as much a state of mind as a place on the map. Now, with various states passing film-production incentive measures and independent moviemakers dwelling in all corners of the country, that sentiment has never seemed truer. Understandably, as The New York Times recently noted, there are critics of these programs — increasingly vocal, especially in light of the world's current economic mess. Yet other voices continue to support the basic idea of spreading the tinsel among various towns. In light of today's production climate, Back Stage recently investigated the health (or lack thereof) of five important moviemaking markets around the country.New Mexico: Dawn at the Oasis Casting director Jo Edna Boldin began making forays into New Mexico when the state implemented an attractive film-incentives package — including a 25 percent tax rebate and a loan program offering up to $15 million per project. About three years ago,...
