Deathstroke is one of the most fearsome comic book villains with an equally riveting and emotional story arc. The character has also made several live-action appearances, mostly notably in the Arrowverse and Justice League. Deathstroke was also the main villain in the second season of DC’s Titans.
Deathstroke in a still from Titans (2018–2023)
While Deathstroke is known for being one of Teen Titans’ most revered villains, the live-action series failed to do justice to his comic arc. In the comics, Deathstroke’s hatred for the team of superheroes is much more deeply rooted and emotional but the Titans squandered the potential of what could have been a compelling storyline for television.

Welcome back to Dead Time. Do you believe in ghosts? Even if you’re a skeptic, you’ve probably tuned into at least one of the many TV shows or web series about ghost hunting. I’ve been watching paranormal reality television shows since Ghost Hunters first aired on Syfy in 2004, so this month I wanted to talk to one of the Og ghost hunters, paranormal investigator and researcher Adam Berry.
The original Ghost Hunters featured paranormal investigators Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, who formed The Atlantic Paranormal Society (Taps) and assembled a team which included Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango. Each episode followed the Taps team as they explored allegedly haunted locations, and the show became extremely successful. Ghost Hunters eventually spawned several spinoff television series, including Ghost Hunters Academy (2009), a paranormal competition reality show. When paranormal investigator Adam Berry won Ghost Hunters Academy, his prize was supposed to...

Don’t cross the streams. Never take your hands off a Ouija board without first saying “Goodbye.” The undead has to be invited in. Kill it with fire. Shoot it in the head. Wolfman’s got nards.
When it comes to the entertainment of the unexplained, or paranormal pop culture, humans live in a world(s) populated by all manner of preternatural, supernatural, otherworldly, and extradimensional phenomena. But entertainment also tells us there are rules that bring order to the abnormal – whether it’s a ghost or demon, alien or sasquatch, werewolf or vampire, or even a troll or fairy.
Yet behind every silver bullet solution that makes it into a script, there is typically a wealth of academic study that’s both complicated, and sometimes contradictory. From folklore to grimoire, anthropology to parapsychology, researchers have attempted to document and take a serious look at topics slightly askew from the norm.

"This is completely insane. Like a thousand steps too far." 1091 Pictures has released an official trailer for an indie film titled Treason, a strange satire about a man who rules a made-up nation with his family as his only subjects. This seems kind of like that "Family Guy" episode when Peter creates Petoria, but as a real indie film. When his son takes the mission too far and his daughter questions everything, Grant fights for control in the face of family, country, and reality. The indie stars Jeff LeBeau, Dalia Vosylius, Emma Center, Colby Rummell, Ra Hanna, Felisha Michelle Cacho, Jordan Wall, Pierce Minor, and Bill Lithgow. This looks interesting, I'll give it that, but not sure if it's any good or merely a funny concept. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Eric DePriester's Treason, direct from 1091's YouTube: On a desert ranch, Grant Wilson (Jeff LeBeau...

Wow! That glorious original poster jumped out at us, making us ask why we couldn’t see this classic-era Paramount horror picture starring the brilliant and glamorous Carole Lombard and directed by the maker of White Zombie. Well, it’s finally shown up to answer that question on Blu-ray. This fairly insubstantial spiritualist vs. scientist spook show about a lady strangler returned from the dead is no classic but will of course be a major curiosity for horror buffs. It’s short on real scares, but it does have a young Randolph Scott to race to the rescue at the finish.

We have the exclusive trailer debut for new episodes of paranormal investigations classic Ghost Hunters, returning in April.
This April, the paranormal investigations continue, and if the new trailer for A&e’s Ghost Hunters is any indication, the unscripted show is headed into some terrifying territory in its second season. Moreover, in this sneak peek debuting exclusively at Den of Geek, the landmark paranormal show—returning April 8 at 8 pm Et, with a two-part premiere—appears to capture an impressive piece of footage. The footage from the season is so impressive, in fact, the network is touting it as “indisputable evidence of life after death.”
The trailer itself is a pretty excellent tease for the paranormal reality investigative show. It immediately conjures horror films such as The Shining with aerial shots of remote wintry roads, and the plucking of a violin. The effect is a tense build as investigator Kristen Luman,...

Arrow might be finishing very soon, but that won’t be the end for this corner of the Arrowverse. A spinoff titled Green Arrow and the Canaries has already been announced, set to star Katherine McNamara’s Mia Smoak as well as Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy’s Black Canaries. It’s likely to inherit a lot of characters from its parent show, then, including, at least potentially, one of Arrow‘s biggest villains.
Manu Bennett’s Deathstroke hasn’t been seen since season 6, but We Got This Covered is hearing that Slade Wilson might be due for a comeback in the spinoff series. It’s currently unknown exactly what his role will be, but our sources – the same ones who told us about this spinoff back in March well before The CW announced it – have said that we should expect to see Deathstroke turn up in some capacity. If you ask an average Arrow fan for the show’s best ever big bad, they’ll probably say Deathstroke. On top of his status in DC lore, Slade Wilson served as Oliver Queen’s nemesis in the series’ acclaimed second season and has returned a few times since then. But could Manu Bennett reprise his role again in Arrow‘s eighth and final run? The CW hasn’t announced anything just yet, but it certainly seems as if he may.
We Got This Covered has heard from our sources – the same ones who told us about the Arrow spinoff back in March, and that both Tom Welling and Katherine McNamara would be involved in “Crisis on Infinite Earths” – that there’s a good chance Bennett will show up in Arrow season 8. Now that production has finished on all 10 episodes, we’ve been told that the actor did shoot a...

Reflecting back on what Arrow has accomplished over the years, it’s very difficult not speaking of Deathstroke when doing so. After all, Manu Bennett’s take on the world’s deadliest mercenary was among those first making the character a household name after decades of being known only to comic book readers and viewers of the Teen Titans animated series.
Strangely enough, Bennett has been altogether absent from Arrow‘s eighth and final season, most likely due to Slade Wilson currently being played by Esai Morales over on DC Universe’s Titans. Still, the Deathstroke persona itself has been permitted to be utilized on The CW – it’s just that other guys have been donning the iconic mask.
So far, we’ve seen Charlie Barnett taking up arms as John Diggle Jr. in the flash forward segments, so it was naturally assumed that he’d be the new Deathstroke...

Mia finally got to meet the dad she never knew, and William reunited with his dead father.
It should have been a joyful moment, right?
Well, not exactly. If you take two Oliver Queens and try to make them click right off the bat, you are not going to get the expected result.
Two stubborn people do not equal a father/daughter heart-melting occasion. Thankfully, William, as our resident Felicity Smoak was there to give them the push they needed on Arrow Season 8 Episode 4.
In an emotional hour of television, Future Team Arrow got thrust back into the past where they met their parents.
Talk about emotional whiplash. Zoe had died not two minutes earlier when The Monitor plucked them from 2040 and dropped them in 2019.

This Tuesday on Arrow, the reunions were degrees of warm and frosty, and the revelations downright heartbreaking, when Oliver & Co. came face to face with grown-up Mia, William and Connor.
Rather than get caught up in how this merging of timelines happened — Oliver reckons the Monitor is just effing with ’em — this episode dove deep into the assorted interpersonal dynamics, and the result was pretty damn great. For example, Oliver was warmly received by William, but totally iced out by Mia. And while Diggle was puzzled to hear Ben Turner’s grown son call him “Dad,” Rene and Dinah were...

We speak with Grant Wilson about A&e's Ghost Hunters update and how to keep paranormal investigations fresh for a new era.
Grant Wilson is a ghost hunter. He is also a husband, father, recorded musician, published author, tabletop gaming company entrepreneur, YouTuber, and – at the moment I meet up with him in New York City – just a guy who blends in with every other person having lunch.
But for 15 years the world has publicly known him as a guy who explores unexplained phenomena on the unscripted paranormal reality series Ghost Hunters — which returns with its first new episodes since 2016 tonight at 9 p.m. on A&e. However, Wilson gave up the ghosts as it were, and left the series in 2012, after more than 160 episodes, and with a feeling of satisfaction.

Get your first look at the return of Ghost Hunters in this exclusive clip!
Fifteen years ago, Ghost Hunters premiered on Sci-Fi Channel and ushered in an era of paranormal reality television. Co-led by Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes, the series initially followed the plumbers-by-day, paranormal investigators by night, as their team set out to explore, validate, or debunk reports of hauntings.
While not the first attempt at an investigative style series, it established a formula that inspired an entire entertainment genre. Coinciding with the rise of social media, Ghost Hunters distinguished itself by focusing on human stories, with series leads that were family men, and a team that possessed a blue-collar ethic. In many ways, Ghost Hunters resembled a reality-tv adaptation of Ghostbusters (an observation confirmed by Dan Aykroyd to me years ago when he said the show was “no doubt” inspired by the film). As a fan of Arrow, I must admit that I’m conflicted at the moment. Like many of you, I’m very much looking forward to next week’s episode, “Star City 2040,” but I’m dying to see what lies ahead in the present day narrative for Emiko Queen now that we know it’s she who burned Ricardo Diaz alive in his prison cell. As always, all we can really do is enjoy the ride.
I can’t say I’m too surprised at how the producers and network aren’t willing to cough up much when it comes to “Star City 2040,” but I thought they’d give us a little more to chew on than what’s offered in the promo found at the top of this article. The Flash season 5 began yesterday with an awesome premiere titled “Nora.” As Barry’s eponymous daughter from the future is now in the present, the opener provided viewers with a lot of hints at what lies ahead for the Scarlet Speedster and the Arrowverse as a whole. The big one, of course, was the extra tease that the franchise is heading towards an adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths…eventually.
According to the Reverse-Flash’s holographic newspaper that’s been knocking about the time vault since season 1, the Flash will disappear in a crisis involving red skies in the year 2024. Nora showed her dad another front page from 25 years after that, 2049, which looked back at the event and revealed that the hero never returned. When Syfy's "Ghost Hunters" returns Wednesday (June 12) for its midseason premiere, Jason Hawes and the specter seekers of The Atlantic Paranormal Society promise fun for all involved.
"We've caught some crazy stuff," Hawes tells Zap2it. "In the new season, when it comes back, there's some really just wild moments, some incredible activity that we caught that's almost impossible to explain."
Joining Hawes are tech manager Steve Gonsalves; investigators Dave Tango, Amy Bruni, Britt Griffith, Adam Berry and Michelle Tate; and canine crew member Maddie.
Even with Gonsalves' considerable technical expertise, the elusive spirits aren't making it easy for the Taps team.
"People are going to have to draw their own conclusions about the stuff we caught," Hawes says. "I can't get into too much, but it's weird when you start having camera issues ... you have certain cameras in a room, and then you hear voices, and they're talking specifically about messing with your equipment.

The granddaddy of the modern incarnation of the popular fascination with ghosts and the paranormal on the television still remains the most popular with fans, as Syfy’s Ghost Hunters, now in its eight season, won this category with by a frighteningly large margin. Even following the departure of longtime Ghost Hunter Grant Wilson in May, the show maintains its strong fan base, and has recently begun a string of Southern-theme episodes where the team looks for spirits below the Mason-Dixon Line. It looks like it will be a while before viewers give up the ghost on the Taps team! New [...]...

You know as well as I do that were anyone to ever legitimately prove the existence of ghosts that the footage would be all over the news within minutes. It makes you wonder then who is watching Ghost Hunters and genuinely thinks they’ll ever see anything credible. Are there actually people who, at the end of each episode where nothing conclusive is proven, think to themselves that maybe next time Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes will hear more than just ambient noise or see more than shadows when they dart their flashlights back and forth? It’s doubtful. Instead, the real secret of Ghost Hunters’ success is that television is a business and Syfy has decided that a show that costs almost nothing to shoot is preferable to any kind of scripted programming that actually requires skill, effort, and risk.

For Roto-Rooter plumber (yes, he still does plumbing) and paranormal investigator Jason Hawes of Syfy's long-running Wednesday-night reality hit "Ghost Hunters," currently airing new episodes, life after his longtime partner, Grant Wilson, left the TV show is pretty much like life before he left the TV show.
"It's funny," Hawes says, "the absence of Grant is only to the viewers of the show. I still talk with Grant all the time; we meet up all the time. He's still involved in the Taps [The Atlantic Paranormal Society] home team and things of that nature, and other things we've been doing for many, many years.
"As for him not being on the show anymore and not being on the road with me, it was a little odd in the beginning, but then again, I worked with Steve [Gonsalves] for years before Grant and me hung out, and Grant was really involved.

For the first time since the show premiered, the "Ghost Hunters" will have to carry on the show without Taps co-founder Grant Wilson as part of the team. Wilson left the show at the mid-season break back in May.
The Detroit News feels the show suffers a bit in Wilson's absence, particularly because co-founder Jason Hawes doesn't have the same easy rapport with the team. Plus, the exposition that used to come from Hawes and Wilson chatting now comes from voiceover work by Hawes alone.
The team was in the Old City Jail in Charleston, where the most frequent reports are of women getting scratched. For the team. that woman turned out to be Hagar, who is normally behind the cameras instead of on them. The site is where America's first female serial killer, Lavinia Fisher, was executed.

Ghost Hunters, Syfy’s longest-running unscripted series, continues its eighth season with 14 all-new episodes, beginning tonight at 9/8c. In support of that premiere, Jason Hawes, Lead Investigator and founder of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (Taps), was recently on hand to answer press questions.
He started out the conference call telling the group that the upcoming second half of the season includes some of the Taps team’s best cases to date “and some of the best evidence that we’ve caught recently. I honestly believe it’s probably going to be one of the best seasons ever.”
This will be the first Taps half-season without co-founder Grant Wilson, but Hawes reported that it wasn’t tough to do the investigations without him, “because I still deal with Grant daily on other things and he’s still there. He had to take a leave of absence from the show but our...

The first stop down in Dixie is Charleston, South Carolina – the winning location of the "Ghost Hunters" America’s Hometown Ghost Hunt contest. Other famously haunted hotspots getting the thorough Taps treatment this fall are Louisiana’s Alexandria Zoo and the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Grant Wilson closed the chapter on his time with "Ghost Hunters" (Wed., 9 p.m. Et on Syfy) by investigating the inn he owns with fellow Taps founder Jason Hawes. And he wasn't to go out quietly, as the inn lived up to its haunted reputation.
The team watched, with cameras rolling, as a door inexplicably opened slowly. It had been closed all night and no one was visibly opening it. At another point, a deadbolt lock kept relocking when Jason would try to unlock it. Once they got that door open, there was no one inside the room who could have been doing that.
The Spalding Inn has been plagued by spirits for 80-plus years, making it the perfect place for a final investigation for the new co-owner. There were plenty of sounds caught on camera, including footsteps in empty rooms above where the investigators were, and windows and doors...

"Life after ghosts," says Grant Wilson. "That's pretty funny."
On Wednesday, May 16, Syfy's long-running reality hit "Ghost Hunters" loses half of its founding team, as plumber-turned-paranormal investigator Wilson puts down his flashlight, Emf meter and infrared motion sensor and leads his last investigation with partner Jason Hawes.
In real life, shooting on his final episode took place some time ago, and Wilson is already settling into his new reality.
"It hasn't really sunk in yet," he tells Zap2it, "because as soon as I was done with the show, I was busy with a lot of other things in life. Now I've just started really sinking into reality, which is funny, because it's a reality show."
He's been spending time with his wife and three boys, ages 13, 12 and 9.
"When we started," he says, "my youngest was 1, and now he's 9. It's all those Halloweens, not being home and stuff, it takes its toll.

One week before Grant Wilson's final hunt, the "Ghost Hunters" (Wed., 9 p.m. Et on Syfy) headed back to Mount Washington Resort, where they had previously had some success reaching the other side during the fourth season.
The Resort was apparently once inhabited by a French princess. Her bedroom had been a hotbed of activity the last time they were there, so they tried again. One again, they got tremendous results, as well as one of the single most chilling responses in the history of the show.
After asking for a knock if the spirit wanted them to leave, they immediately got one. The spirit even finished up the classic "shave and a haircut" knock with a resounding "two bits." But it was a muffled scream that had the guys truly stunned and repeating, "Are you kidding me?" over and over again. Reality TV Magazine called that "the creepiest moment in the entire episode.
