- Alexander Jefferson was born in November 1921 in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He died on June 22, 2022 in the USA.
- He served in WWII as a P-51 fighter pilot with the 332nd Fighter Group - 301st Fighter Squadron in Italy, later called the "Red Tails." He flew 18 missions before being shot down and held as a POW in Poland for eight months in 1944-45.
- He earned a bachelor's degree from Clark College in Atlanta, carried out graduate studies in chemistry at Howard University, and received a master's degree in education from Wayne State University.
- Following the war, he was a US Postal Service mail carrier, then became a science teacher. He retired as an assistant principal.
