By now, you're either in the thick of Goliath's final season, or you've already watched and cannot wait to read more about it.
That works out great since we still have more on the way.
During Goliath's virtual press day, we had the chance to chat with producer, director, and Season 3 showrunner, Lawrence Trilling so that we could pick his brain about where the ideas emanated from and a lot of other good stuff. Enjoy!
What if that had been the last thing that anybody saw of Billy McBride? How would that have made you feel?
I would've been sad. However, that was absolutely in our calculation that it might be the case. We did not know when we finished shooting season three whether there'd be a season four.
Right.
We wanted to design something that would be a satisfying conclusion if we didn't get the chance to come back,...

Amazon Prime Video released a trailer for the fourth and final season of “Goliath,” which premieres Sept. 24.
Viewers were left with a cliffhanger in the Season 3 finale, when lawyer Billy (Billy Bob Thornton) faced a murder attempt. In the new season, Billy returns to his Big Law roots and attempts to take on the opioid industry and its leaders, including George Stax (J.K. Simmons), the leader of one of the largest family-owned pharmaceutical companies, and his brother Frank (Bruce Dern). He and Patty (Nina Arianda) hope to use the power of Big Pharma to buy justice, but loyalties are tested when Patty feels Billy may be using her because she got a new job at a prestigious white-shoe law firm in San Francisco. Billy is also still reeling from chronic pain due to the attack he endured last season.

Today, Amazon Prime Video released the official trailer and key art for the highly anticipated fourth and final season of Goliath.
If we thought Billy McBride was a badass during the first three seasons, we might be in for a surprise.
Here's what we know.
Goliath is going out with a bang, taking on one of the biggest bads in recent history.
This time, the struggle we've become used to will have to come from somewhere other than an attorney barely scraping by and down on his luck.
His refreshingly frank partner in crime, Patty, takes a job at a prestigious white-shoe law firm in San Francisco, prompting Billy to return to his Big Law roots.
Together, they try to take down one of America’s most insidious Goliaths: the opioid industry.
With money behind them, we imagine there's nothing that will hold this dynamic duo down from slaying a pharmaceutical giant.

Amazon Studios has picked up a fourth and final season of Goliath, its original drama series starring Billy Bob Thornton. The news Thursday comes a little over a month after the streamer rolled out Season 3 last month, revealing a new case for Thornton’s conflicted super-laywer Billy McBride.
The legal drama, created by David E. Kelley and Jonathan Shapiro, broke ground at Amazon, landing the first straight-to-series order at the platform which at the time was employing exclusively a pilot model, making its pilots available to the public.
Since its 2016 debut, Goliath has been one of the most popular original series on Amazon, at one point holding the crown as the service’s most binged show. Thornton won a Golden Globe that first season for playing McBride, the hard-living, once-famous L.A. lawyer with a complicated past who seeks redemption by solving cases nobody else can crack.

2.9 Home Again
After spending two episodes embodying what Evil Dead isn’t, it was time to get back to the basics. And that’s what Home Again is all about if you can’t already tell that from the reading the title with your own two eyes. We take a trip back in time, via an evil Necronomicon-powered time portal that Ash forces Ruby to open up by reading the incantations written on Pablo’s cold dead skin, to the year 1982. Ash wants to stop himself from ever picking up that god forsaken Book of the Dead and start reading random words out of it.

Banshee, Season 3: Episode 10 – “We All Pay Eventually”
Written by Jennifer Ames & Steve Turner
Directed by Loni Peristere
Returns to Cinemax in 2016 for a fourth season
In all of the craziness that is “We All Pay Eventually,” Banshee displays its growth over three gripping years by giving two supporting characters the chance to verbalize the heart of the episode, season and series thus far:
“I am guys like that…I will always be that man…I am doing everything I can to change. And every once in a while, I manage to convince myself that I’m a better person.”
And when Bunker gets so angry, Brock shows him what that really is:
“That isn’t anger that you’re feeling. That’s the shame and guilt…That is what makes you better than them. If you didn’t feel that, that’s when I’d start to worry.”

Banshee, Season 3: Episode 9 – “Even God Doesn’t Know What to Make of You”
Written by Jennifer Ames & Steve Turner
Directed by Loni Peristere
Airs Friday nights at 10 on Cinemax
Regardless of where cliches originate, many of them persist because of how well they hold up over time. When it comes to pain, physical or emotional, one of the timeless cliches has been that we always hurt the people we love the most. There has been research carried out in explaining the phenomenon, but I can’t claim to have a real idea of how convincing any of it is. Instead, my interest is in how the theory applies to Banshee, since “Even God Doesn’t Know What to Make of You” is a smorgasbord of examples of conflict between people who care deeply for one another.
The first article linked above states that “In situations in which we have nothing of value to lose,...

Boardwalk Empire, Season 4, Episode 9, “Marriage and Hunting”

Airs Sundays at 9pm Est on HBO
Kate is new to Boardwalk Empire this season and her reviews will approach the acclaimed series from the newbie’s perspective.
This week, on Boardwalk Empire: Narcisse is displeased, Nucky is foggy, and Van Alden is back
Much of season four of Boardwalk Empire has felt disjointed. The series has a surplus of talent, with far more characters than it seems to know what to do with, and rather than cut down the cast, they’ve jumped back and forth between these characters (taking the same approach as they did in season three), often shelving characters and arcs for weeks at a time. What this inevitably leads to are peaks and valleys throughout the season, as the episodes featuring viewers’ favorite...
