“It had everything to do with it,” admits Emmy winner Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”), about the main reason why she wanted to star in “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.” Portraying Jennifer Walters on the show meant she could upend expectations by giving voice to a woman in her 30s awkwardly navigating her career and personal life, who just so happens to also be a superhero in her spare time. “When I read the first script,” she explains, “it was so funny, so human and so irreverent of any expectations of what a superhero is. I found Jennifer just so infinitely relatable.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

The mid-credits sequence in which She-Hulk viewers get to see Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and Madisynn King, supreme party girl, fast become “besties” was not in the original script for Episode 4.
The Disney+ comedy’s Sept. 8 episode opened with magician Donny Blaze (played by Entourage‘s Rhys Coiro) pulling Madisynn (Florida Girls‘ Patty Guggenheim) from the audience as a volunteer and then sending her into an interdimensional portal that the Mystic Arts dropout opened with his sling ring. Some time later, Madisynn fell through another portal into Wong’s (MCU vet Benedict Wong) Kamar-Taj crib, where she promptly spoiled his bingeing of The Sopranos.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Season 1, Episode 4, “Is This Not Real Magic?”] She-Hulk‘s latest episode, “Is This Not Real Magic?” got caught up in the mystic arts with the introduction of magician Donny Blaze (Rhys Coiro). Working as an entertainer at the “Mystic Castle,” Donny’s desire to impress the audience leads to some interesting choices as he employs some tricks Wong (Benedict Wong) once taught him. When those tricks disrupt Wong’s life (mainly his ability to binge The Sopranos spoiler-free), he seeks the help of Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) in order to prevent Donny from practicing the kind of dark magic he doesn’t understand how to control. As the episode unfolds, Wong’s point is proven when Donny ends up opening a portal that allows demonic entities to breach their world. It’s up to She-Hulk and Wong to wrangle the creatures and save the potential fate of the world. ...

Well, you know the drill by now: Another day means another round of fresh speculation concerning the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Never mind that fans have been burned many a time before by leaping to conclusions that weren't necessarily as cut-and-dry as they might've hoped -- remember the hype surrounding Evan Peters' appearance in "WandaVision," only for all those dreams of the X-Men waltzing into the MCU to turn into Ralph Bohner? Or "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" seemingly capitulating to all those fan-casts for John Krasinski to take on the role of Reed Richards, only for the alternate universe character to find himself, ah, a bit stretched out instead?
Anyway, all of these past examples of lessons learned should probably run through every fan's mind before anyone jumps the gun and starts setting...

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Episode 4
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has always adopted a, let’s say, irreverent tone. The precedent was established early on in 2008’s Iron Man. Using the film’s screenplay as more of a suggestion than a bible, Robert Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges helped imbue the franchise with a wise-cracking, improvisational spirit that would carry on to just about every other film.
Still, even though most Marvel properties don’t let too many beats pass between jokes, none of them have ever fully bent towards outright cartoonish farce. That is, not until now with She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
Through four episodes, She-Hulk is truly like nothing else Marvel has ever produced, and perhaps that’s why it’s proven to be so divisive. Episode 1 established its heroine’s fourth wall-breaking abilities and since then the show has allowed itself to become goofier week after week,...

Colson Baker – Aka Mgk – is injured and on the run from the gang he stole from, when he gets on a bus and endangers his fellow passengers
Colson Baker is a promising actor who continues to evolve away from his better-known personas: a white rapper with a silly name (he alternates between Machine Gun Kelly and sometimes just Mgk), actor Megan Fox’s arm candy, and sometime-Jackass satellite. Here Baker takes a starring role as a low-level LA hoodlum called Freddy who has stolen a bag of cash and cocaine from now very angry associates, a Puerto Rican gang led by sociopath Vic.
Shot in the gut while fleeing, Freddy boards a coach headed for a small town in Georgia and it’s onboard where most of the rest of the film takes place – apart from cutaways to the various people Freddy phones, such as Vic, his nurse ex-girlfriend...

Last December, Variety exclusively announced “Murder City” as one of the first films slated for Black Noir Cinema, a lineup of genre movies developed and produced by Village Roadshow and Tubi, which will exclusively debut on the Fox-owned free streaming platform.
Described as a “thrilling contemporary crime story,” the film follows Neil (Colter), a disgraced former cop, who after losing his job on the police force is forced to work with the city’s most notorious — and ruthless — kingpin, Ash (Sigman), to settle the debts of his estranged, deadbeat father, Graham (Fargas), and protect his wife and son.

Director Kat Coiro has had plenty of meet and greets at the Marvel Studios offices over the years, but when She-Hulk: Attorney at Law first came on the radar in August 2019, Coiro quickly threw her hat into the ring. After all, she grew up near a comic-book shop where she first established a connection to the She-Hulk comics, and that bond would later be reignited by her husband (and She-Hulk actor) Rhys Coiro’s boyhood comic-book collection.
Coiro, who directs six of the series’ nine episodes and also serves as executive producer, knew the Disney+ show was going to work during an early scene between Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk/Jen Walters and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk/Dr. Bruce Banner.
“You can’t direct chemistry, and … I knew that the whole opening episode was going to work because they brought out a playfulness in each other.

With the premiere of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law looming on Disney+, there’s been a lot of speculation as to how the series ties to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans of the comics spotted an alleged reference to the character of Ghost Rider whose name is Johnny Blaze, with the last name being very visible.
However, it turns out that the name of the character is Donny Blaze, who will be personified by actor Rhys Coiro. During the red carpet premiere of the series, Deadline asked him about his character but didn’t reveal too much.
“He’s a very powerful and fantastic individual and he’s amazing and wonderful in every way and he just lives to amaze and entertain,” he said.
His wife Kat Coiro, who is a director on the show, jumped in saying that the only person that could answer more about the Ghost Rider possibly appearing was Kevin Feige.

"We're next..." "Well, get ready." Saban Films has released an official trailer for an action thriller film titled Agent Game, another one of these direct-to-video-esque action movies they're churning out dime-a-dozen of these days. A CIA officer finds himself the target of a rendition operation after being scapegoated for the death of an interrogation subject. As the team tasked to bring the officer in begins to question their orders — and each other — Olsen, a senior intelligence officer, and his subordinate raise the stakes. The impressive ensemble cast includes Dermot Mulroney, Adan Canto, Katie Cassidy, Annie Ilonzeh, Rhys Coiro, Barkhad Abdi, with Jason Isaacs and Mel Gibson. I don't have much to say about these action films - they all look the same, they all seem extra redundant and dull. It's almost as if the plot doesn't even matter. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Grant S. Johnson's Agent Game,...

Exclusive: Dermot Mulroney, Katherine McNamara, Rhys Coiro, Annie Ilonzeh, and Oscar-winner Mel Gibson have signed on for the indie spy thriller Agent Game, which is being directed by Grant S. Johnson (Nighthawks). Mike Langer and Tyler W. Konney wrote the screenplay, which is set in the murky world of CIA renditions.
The plot follows Harris (Mulroney), a CIA officer involved in missions to detain and relocate foreign nationals for interrogation. When a political shift in Washington turns his allies into enemies, Harris finds himself the scapegoat for a detainee’s murder and must run from a team of operatives sent to bring him in (McNamara and Coiro), led by a ruthless double agent (Ilonzeh). Gibson has a small role as an intelligence official running the unsanctioned covert operation to hunt down the disgraced spy.
Tyler W. Konney is producing the pic via the Taylor & Dodge banner, which is also handling worldwide sales.

IFC Films nabbed North American rights to Stephen Dorff’s mixed martial arts drama “Embattled” and plans to release the film in November.
The Blitz Films production marks Georgian-born director Nick Sarkisov’s English-language film debut. David McKenna, whose credits include “Blow” and “American History X,” wrote the script.
Dorff plays a man who channels his aggression into becoming a major champion in the cage-fighting sport but when his second son is born with Williams Syndrome, an incurable developmental disorder, he runs away from his family. McKenna’s own 15-year-old son Colin, who was born with Williams Syndrome, portrays the boy. When his elder son, played by Darren Mann, decides to follow his father’s footsteps into the fight game, a media firestorm results in the father and son facing each other in a battle that neither can truly win.

The first teaser for Cameron Boyce's final onscreen project, Paradise City, is officially here. The clip, which dropped on May 1, features the late actor as Simon, an aspiring rock star who finds himself enwrapped in the dark side of Hollywood. "Do you think that devil worship is real in Hollywood?" Boyce says in one scene. "Like the whole black magic, and all that stuff." His costar replies, "Oh, I definitely think there's good and evil spirits, and black magic is real."
According to Paradise City's Instagram account, a portion of the program's profits will be donated to The Cameron Boyce Foundation. The organization launched this past July, shortly after the actor died from an epileptic seizure at the age of 20. "The series was filmed just months before his tragic passing," the show wrote. "He gave us an incredible performance as a young musician, band leader and aspiring Diy executive in the music business.

"How does a robot get drunk? How does a robot shave?" Who's up for some robot love? Rust in Peace is a fun short film written & directed by Will Welles. After playing at festivals over the last year, the 17-minute film is now available to watch online in full. The short is about an abandoned robot that awakes alone in a junkyard. He travels home, to his creator's ranch, to learn if the love he feels is returned. "The heart of the film is a breakup story," Welles reveals. "The kind of breakup where you have a big fight, think its over, then the next day your partner is in the kitchen making eggs like nothing is wrong." The short stars Rhys Coiro & Douglas Tait. With a clunky practical robot that walks and talks, and wonders if anyone still loves him. Thanks to Short of the Week for the tip on this film.

"You want 'em drunk enough to get their credit card, but sober enough to sign the check." Stx released the second & final trailer for Hustlers, based on a magazine article about "Robin Hood" strippers who "turned the tables" on their Wall Street clients. This trailer is a but snappier, more of an extended TV spot compared to the first. The latest film by Lorene Scafaria, it's a true story told in this article about a group of hustler strippers in NYC. The full cast includes Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Julia Stiles, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, Cardi B, Stormi Maya, Frank Whaley, Madeline Brewer, Trace Lysette, Lizzo, Rhys Coiro, Jon Glaser, Usher Raymond, Tia Barr, and Brandon Keener. Looks like a wildly fun mash-up between Showgirls and The Usual Suspects. When characters in a movie are having a good time, it’s hard to completely resist their charms. Such is the case with Finding Steve McQueen, a jaunty heist tale that has more than its fair share of fun, even if the final product is on the sleight side. This is the sort of picture that, depending on how and when you watch it, will determine in large part what your feelings are. If you were to see it on cable or on a plane, for example, it would certainly satisfy and pass the time. In theaters or On Demand, however? There, it comes up a little short of the necessary mark. The film is a mix of a crime caper and a bit of a romance as well. In 1980, Harry Barber (Travis Fimmel) begins to tell his girlfriend Molly Murphy (Rachel Taylor) a story. Back in 1972, a group of thieves from Youngstown,...

Chicago – The “caper” film, Aka the heist film, is one of the old reliable genres in the movies, and usually involves a gang of mismatched thieves. “Finding Steve McQueen” goes all the way back to the 1970s to spotlight a based-on-truth burglary that involves Tricky Dick himself, President Richard M. Nixon.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
The gang is led by the underrated character actor William Fichtner (probably best known as the gun-waving astronaut in ‘Armageddon”), who depends on a dim-but-reliable car enthusiast played by Travis Fimmel, whose story is the focus of the film. The title is a reference to the Fimmel character’s love for the King of Cool, movie star Steve McQueen, and many of the film’s incidences either alludes to or directly comments upon McQueen’s films. Director Mark Steven Johnson (“Ghost Rider”) also does some fancy timeline jumping, as the film begins in 1980, but tells the story of...

The Dinsio Brothers and their accomplices stole around nine million dollars from four hundred-plus safety deposit boxes inside the United California Bank of Laguna Niguel. To read Amil Dinsio’s website is to learn of his self-proclaimed “master” exploits and how the FBI sought to frame him for the job before discovering the evidence necessary to prove he did it. Maybe there’s a movie there, but probably not. The world simply doesn’t need another self-serious drama projecting the smarts it takes to pull off the “perfect” heist despite still inevitably getting caught. So screenwriters Ken Hixon and Keith Sharon looked beyond the Dinsios to uncover their nephew Harry Barber as a more entertaining entry point. This burglary could acquire the necessary humor to render it appealing through him instead.
As a result, Mark Steven Johnson’s Finding Steve McQueen is less about the crime than how Harry (Travis Fimmel...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains details of tonight’s A Million Little Things Season 1 finale
“We did every single thing we could do to downplay it and make sure it was authentic,” says A Million Little Things creator DJ Nash, speaking of the role that the terrible events of September 11, 2001 played in tonight’s Season 1 finale of the ABC drama.
In the tightly constructed and flashback filled “Goodbye” episode, we learned much more about the true identity of the illusive Barbara Morgan and Drea de Matteo’s Mrs. Nelson coming out of the shadows of the past. We also dug deeper into the events forging the inner turmoil that Jon Dixon (Ron Livingston) keep secret in the years leading up to his suicide at the beginning of the show.
Jon was supposed to be on American Airlines Flight 11 out of Logan Airport on the morning of that September day 18 years ago.

"That's when it all started to go sideways." Momentum Pictures has debuted an official trailer for a crime comedy titled Finding Steve McQueen, a new film directed by Mark Steven Johnson. Not to be confused with the biopic film about actor Steve McQueen, titled Chasing Bullitt, this film is about some thieves from Ohio and it doesn't really involve the iconic actor. Set in 1972, a gang of close-knit thieves based in Youngstown, Ohio attempt to steal $30 million in illegal contributions and blackmail money from President Richard Nixon's secret fund. All based on a true story, of course. Travis Fimmel (from Warcraft) stars, along with Rachael Taylor, William Fichtner, Forest Whitaker, Lily Rabe, Jake Weary, Rhys Coiro, and Louis Lombardi. This really looks quite boring. "We're on a spiritual quest, here!" Wtf is this?! Cinedigm has released a new trailer and a new poster for the indie horror comedy, rock band drug trip film Dead Ant, described as "Spinal Tap meets Tremors!" Okay, you have my attention. The synopsis for this is hilarious and pretty much sums it up way better than we could. When the 1989 "one-hit-wonder" glam-metal band "Sonic Grave" embark on a trip to Coachella in hopes of a comeback, their peyote trip pit stop in Joshua Tree incites an "unworldly" viscous attack, and they must "rock" themselves out of harms way. This stars Tom Arnold, Sean Astin, Sydney Sweeney, Jake Busey, Leisha Hailey, and Rhys Coiro. As much as it seems like a fun concept for a film, this looks really terrible. The post-Rick Grimes world of “The Walking Dead” came into focus with this week’s episode, introducing several new characters while offering a fresh look at some old ones.
Years have passed since Rick’s apparent death at the bridge. Michonne (Danai Gurira) now stands by the edge of the water, talking as if she were talking to Rick. As she does, the episode flashes to people like Daryl (Norman Reedus), who is now living a solitary life in the wilderness; Carol (Melissa McBride), who is rocking a new hairdo while serving as Ezekiel’s “queen” at the Kingdom; and Michonne herself, who is seen scavenging an abandoned vehicle. There she finds a figurine of an old West sheriff who looks an awful lot like Rick.

“The Walking Dead” leaps six years into the future with the sixth episode of Season 9. “Who are You Now?” marked the first episode without Rick Grimes at the lead. The family of survivors he left behind have forged ahead. Judith (Cailey Fleming) is older and headstrong like her dad, Aaron (Ross Marquand) has a new metal prosthetic arm, Ezekiel (Khary Payton) finally married his queen, and Alexandria is expanding with new farmlands and the windmill that was foreshadowed in the retooled opening sequence. Below, explore the five most shocking moments of “Who Are You Now?” which include friendly and terrifying new faces.
On Trial
Despite harsh rules on outsiders, Judith is insistent that Magna (Nadia Hilker) and her group must be admitted to Alexandria. Michonne (Danai Gurira) is resistant and Magna herself is hesitant due to previous settlements that have fallen. Eventually, everyone agrees to a hearing and subsequent vote on the newcomers.

“The Walking Dead” continued it’s strong forward momentum in Season 9, with this week’s episode continuing to show the deterioration of the fragile alliance that has been forged.
The episode opens with Justin (Zach McGowan)–the Savior who raised the ire of Daryl (Norman Reedus) in the first two episodes of the season–lying dead on the ground near a brick building. Soon, he reanimates as a walker and rises back to his feet.
The next morning, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) walks through Alexandria in the early morning and visits Carl’s grave. He leaves a freshly grown tomato from the community’s gardens near the grave as a sign of the future Carl helped inspire. Back at home, he and Michonne (Danai Gurira) talk about the bridge building project and her charter.
