These days, it’s not too hard to find someone wearing a Lantern ring in the DC Universe. While originally the Green Lanterns were the only ring wielders across the 3600 sectors, the colours began to increase, and now you’ve got different colored rings roaming everywhere. Each ring utilises a different emotion (or in the case of the black and white rings, utilise death and life respectively), which means that each individual who is given a ring is chosen for their ability to channel said emotion. The rings are capable of many things, from flight to language translation to creating hard light constructs. Whichever ring you’re wearing, you’re guaranteed great power.
With all these different Lanterns around, it’s hard to keep track of everyone. Luckily, we’ve compiled this list of the most notable ring wielders in DC Comics. From heroes to villains, the strong to the cunning,...

Cologne, Germany – Chewing popcorn while watching cinema ads could make us immune to the brand message. That's the finding of a new study by researchers at Cologne University, who tested the impact of cinema advertising on popcorn-munching moviegoers. Story: Shutdown Special: AMC Will Hand Out Free Popcorn to Federal Employees The researchers invited participants to watch a film in a cinema preceded by a series of ads for new, unknown products. Half the audience was given free popcorn to eat during the ads; the others got a small sugar cube that dissolved in their mouths within a minute. A

Black Hand #1 (Green Lantern #23.3)
Written by Charles Soule
Art by Alberto Ponticelli
Colored by Danny Vozzo
Cover by Billy Tan with Alex Sinclair
Published by DC Comics
DC Comics gratuitous “Villains Month” series of one-shots continues this week with Black Hand #1. Black Hand was elevated to a more significant role by Green Lantern-wunderkind Geoff Johns, and now gets the spotlight in his own issue.
Following the events of the “Wrath of the First Lantern” crossover, Black Hand was killed (again.) Being the master of death however, it should be no surprise that William Hand is back once more. While the world is being torn apart by the Crime Syndicate from the events of Forever Evil, some vestiges of law enforcement are still trying to maintain order. After Black Hand inadvertently attacks some police officers, he is thrown in jail. Gradually he recalls what he is capable of and escapes his prison.

Apparently, Marvel and DC sent a memo to each other declaring this week would be filled with origins and character building stories as evidenced by the three books appearing on today’s edition of The Pull List. Not to say that’s a bad thing by any means, character building is what helps us care most about this who we normally see just in the heat of battle.
Also thankfully for our wallets, this was a “light” week in terms of shipping. After the three weeks of 20 or more pulls, it was nice to have a week to be able to sit down, relax and get to enjoy the work in these issues.
Pull of the Week:
Green Lantern #43 – DC – $2.99
Score: 8.0
Contrary to the image on the cover of the Black Hand clutching the grave of Bruce Wayne, this issue takes the reader back before the events of Blackest Night...
