My Adventures with Superman is one of the most brilliant superhero animated series. Created by Brendan Clougher, Jake Wyatt, and Josie Campbell, the Adult Swim series tells the story of Superman aka Clark Kent as he starts his new job at The Daily Planet, with his roommate Jimmy Olson, and his senior intern at The Daily Planet who is none other than Lois Lane. They quickly become a team and try to bring in big stories so that they can become real reporters while Clark also tries to become the hero he is meant to be. My Adventures with Superman has great action but the brilliant thing about the series is that it isn’t an action series about Superman, it’s a series about a superhero and his relationships as he figures out who he really is. So, if you love the heart, optimism, great story, and fantastic animation...

The daughter of Stan Lee is launching a new legal fight against Pow! Entertainment, the company that holds the rights to her father’s name, likeness and intellectual property.
In a lawsuit filed in L.A. Superior Court on Tuesday, J.C. Lee alleges that a series of “suspicious transactions” have diluted her stake in the company. The suit also alleges that she has not received payments as required under the intellectual property agreement.
Stan Lee, the co-creator of numerous Marvel superheroes, died in 2018 at the age of 95, leaving behind a tangle of legal disputes.
J.C. Lee, his daughter and sole heir, sued Pow! Entertainment in 2019, alleging that the company wrongfully claimed ownership of her father’s name and likeness. A federal judge dismissed that suit in 2020, finding that the claims were “frivolous” and “factually and legally baseless,” and that the central issue in the case had already been adjudicated several times.

A messy legal battle initiated by Stan Lee’s estate involving accusations of exploitation and elder abuse by the comic book legend’s inner circle has concluded, with an arbitrator siding with Lee’s former attorney that the lawsuit against him was brought too late.
The five-year legal saga was sparked by The Hollywood Reporter’s investigation into Lee’s estate, which chronicled allegations that people introduced into his life by his daughter, J.C., stole millions of dollars from him. This included Jerardo Olivarez, Lee’s ex-business manager who was given power of attorney. Olivarez allegedly insisted that Lee retain Uri Litvak as his attorney for business dealings, but he didn’t disclose a conflict of interest stemming from Litvak representing him in personal matters. A year after Olivarez was sued, Lee also named Litvak in the lawsuit calling the pair “unscrupulous businessmen, sycophants and opportunists” seeking to take...

There’s a moment in “Stan Lee,” David Gelb’s lively and illuminating documentary about the visionary of Marvel Comics, that’s momentous enough to give you a tingle. The year is 1961, and Lee, approaching 40, is burnt out on comics. It’s a form he has never taken all that seriously, even though he’s been working at it since 1939, when he started, at 17, as a gofer for Timely Comics. The comics he creates get so little respect that he tries to hide his profession when asked about it at cocktail parties.
In 1961, though, Lee receives a directive from Martin Goodman, the publisher of the company that’s about to be renamed Marvel. He is ordered to devise a team of superheroes that can compete with DC’s Justice League (who have become the fulcrum of the so-called Silver Age of Comics). Lee, weary of superheroes, is ready to quit the business.

Stan Lee’s estate is one step closer to clearing up a messy legal battle involving accusations of exploitation and elder abuse by the comic book legend’s inner circle, with the settlement of a lawsuit against Lee’s former business manager, Jerardo “Jerry” Olivarez.
According to a court document filed on Monday, Lee’s estate moved to dismiss claims against Olivarez. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. The settlement doesn’t include claims against Lee’s former attorney, Uri Litvak.
The four-year legal saga, sparked by The Hollywood Reporter‘s investigation detailing accusations of elder abuse, revolves around an ugly battle over Lee’s estate that includes his daughter, J.C., and people who allegedly manipulated her in efforts to exploit her famous father. Lee accused J.C., his only child and heir to his estate, of verbally abusing him. THR reported that J.C.’s outbursts turned...

When there’s casting news about an upcoming superhero movie, the hoped response is something along the lines of a fist pump and some level of, “Hey, awesome!” You’re always going to hit on a character somebody’s interested in. I mean, I for one was excited about Vin Diesel as Bloodshot until I actually watched the movie. There were certainly enough Jack Kirby fans psyched about Eternals. People were hyped about John Cena as Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad the moment he was announced.
But when news hit that Dakota Johnson is set to star in a movie about Madame Web? That’s the kind of news that has you pause for a moment before asking, “Really? Are you sure?” Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe somebody out there did a backflip over this news. The rest of us are just scratching our heads, because…what in the world?...

To superhero fans, spotting Stan Lee’s cameo in each of the movies starring the characters he created has become just as important as seeing the films themselves. From the hot dog vendor in the 2000’s X-Men to the dog walking love guru in 2018’s Venom, he’s always added something special to the flicks. X-Men: Dark Phoenix, though, will have no such cameo.
But fear not; there will still be a tribute to The Watcher himself. In an interview with Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg and producer Hutch Parker, CinemaBlend’s Eric Eisenberg gives us the dish, straight from the mouths of the filmmakers:
“We don’t have a cameo. I’d rather say that than then keep it mysterious, out of respect for Stan. We do have some tribute to him, and it’s something that obviously we weren’t thinking about when we were making the movie...

Stan Lee has died at the age of 95 but his last few months of life were filled with turmoil.
While the co-creator of comic book icons like Spider-Man, Iron Man Thor and the X-Men catapulted Lee to fame and prestige, all was not easygoing for the businessman in the months leading up to his death.
In April, Lee sued his ex-manager Jerardo Olivarez for allegedly duping him out of millions of dollars — and stealing his blood, according to a complaint filed in Los Angeles and obtained by People.

Some have been fun surprises, while others have been underwhelming. Here’s the definitive list of every Stan Lee appearance through “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” ranked from boring to excelsior!
35.) “Deadpool 2” (2018)
The bottom of this list consists of Lee’s “blink and you’ll miss it” cameos. In “Deadpool 2,” he doesn’t actually appear in the movie in person — he pops up as a huge wall mural that’s a bit tough to spot, and gone almost immediately.
34.) “Spider-Man 2” (2004)
Another super-quick Lee cameo, but during the first fight between Spidey and Doc Ock, Lee sees enough screen time to pull a women out of harm’s way. Watch the clip here.

Stan Lee, the co-creator of Spider-Man, the Avengers, the X-Men, the Hulk and the Fantastic Four, is dead. He was 95. Kirk Schenck, the attorney for Stan Lee’s daughter, confirmed to Deadline that the comics culture legend passed away Monday morning after being admitted to Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
As a writer and editor for Marvel Comics, Lee became the most famous comic book creator in the history of the medium — he was the only creator in the field whose fame rivaled that of the characters he created. His career began in 1941 when — at age 17 — he got his first published work, a prose story that appeared in the fifth issue of Captain America Comics. It was the 1960s, however, when Lee minted his reputation and tapped into a vein of pop-culture creativity that made history.

Stan Lee, the legendary comic book writer and editor who helped redefine the medium when he co-created much of Marvel Comics’ vast library of characters and concepts, died Monday, according to THR. He was 95.
Working alongside fellow comics titans like Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby during the 1960s, Lee was instrumental in sparking what became known as “the Marvel revolution,” a shift in superhero comics that emphasized flawed protagonists expressing humanistic values. Concepts and plots remained as colorful and weird as ever. But Marvel characters, written with complex, realistic personalities and mundane private lives, often had to resolve family, dating and even financial challenges while protecting the public from an increasingly packed roster of supervillains.
This new approach to superhero comics debuted in “The Fantastic Four,” a team of superheroes presented as a dysfunctional but loving family unit that Lee co-created with Kirby in 1961. Lee credited his wife, Joan, for...

A judge ordered a memorabilia dealer and one-time advisor to stay away from comic book mogul Stan Lee for three years, amid allegations of elder abuse.
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Laura Hymowitz issued the restraining order this morning against Keya Morgan, who had inserted himself into Lee’s affairs. Morgan was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Lee and his immediate family until Aug. 17, 2021.
Morgan took control of Lee’s business affairs and personal life in February and allegedly isolated him from the people Lee was closest to and trusted the most, and embezzled or misappropriated $5 million of assets, according to court documents.
An application for a restraining order accuses the 42-year-old Morgan, who had been serving as Lee’s manager and personal advisor, of taking advantage of a frail Lee, who suffers from impaired hearing, vision and judgment.

Comic book legend Stan Lee is being sued by a massage therapist who accuses the 95-year-old of acting in an inappropriate manner during a massage session.
In the suit filed Monday, Maria Carballo says she was summoned to Lee’s suite at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Chicago last year to perform massage therapy on Lee.
According to the suit, about 30 minutes into the session, Carballo “noticed that Lee began to fondle himself as she performed the massage.”

The suit says Carballo instructed Lee to roll onto his back in an effort to diffuse the situation, and noticed that the sheets Lee had been lying on “were wet,” but she decided to give Lee the benefit of the doubt.
According to the suit, the massage continued without any issues until Carballo began massaging Lee’s quadriceps, after which Lee began “to moan and groan,” at which point Carballo decided to end the massage.
Lee complained that the massage session was supposed to last two hours, the lawsuit says, and Carballo agreed to charge for only an hour. However, the suit says, the next day Carballo’s employer called her, saying that Lee had relayed an apology and assuring her “that there would be no further incidents.”

Carballo returned to Lee’s suite to again provide massage therapy, the suit says, but after again massaging his quadriceps, “Plaintiff observed that Lee was once again moaning.” According to the suit, Carballo immediately stopped the massage, and that Lee “stood up from the massage table, completely naked, and became angry with Plaintiff.”
“Plaintiff begged Lee to put on his clothes on and to let her leave, but he became angrier and demanded that she continue the massage,” the suit reads.
Carballo says she agreed to continue the massage for another 10 minutes, this time with a Shiatsu massage performed with her feet, and that, after a few minutes, “Lee grabbed Plaintiff’s foot and moved it against his penis and scrotum.”

“When Plaintiff freed herself from his grip, she promptly gathered her belongings,” the suit reads.
Alleging assault, battery and other counts, the suit is seeking a judgment “in excess of $50,000, plus an award of punitive damages, and attorneys’ fees and costs as permitted under the statute.”
TheWrap has reached out to Lee’s spokesperson for comment on the suit.

Comic book industry legend Stan Lee is suing a former business manager for fraud and elder abuse in a suit that alleges such egregious claims of abuse as extracting and selling vials of the Marvel Comics icon’s blood as “collectibles” in Las Vegas.
Lee, whom many consider the godfather of the modern-day superhero, was grieving the death of his wife of 70 years, Joan B. Lee, in late 2017 when he became the target of “unscrupulous businessmen, sycophants and opportunists” who sought to take advantage of his despondency.
A suit filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court alleges Jerardo Olivarez is once such opportunist. A former business associate of Lee’s daughter, the suit claims Olivarez took control of Lee’s professional and financial affairs — and began enriching himself through various schemes and bogus enterprises.

You might assume that the life of a 95-year-old would be relatively sedate. Not so for Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee, who has spent the last year embroiled in a variety of worrying stories.

It's hard to completely gauge the impact that Stan Lee has had on this planet, but I don't think it would be wrong to say that without Stan Lee the world would be a much duller place.
Stan Lee is the co-creator of most of the Marvel heroes we watch in droves on cinema screens across the world. Just as the world prepares to pounce on the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, whose title character also just happens to be Marvel and Stan Lee's most famous creation, it is with sad heart that we report the death of Stan Lee's Wife Joan at the age of 93.
After suffering a stroke, and being hospitalized earlier this week, Joan sadly passed away yesterday. Joan is survived by her husband Stan and their only daughter, Joan Celia.

Penny Dreadful was one of my favourite shows of the last few years. I’m certainly not alone in that it quickly grew into something of a cult classic. Often violent and bloody, but very stylish and superbly written and acted. It’s fair to say I was extremely disappointed when it ended after three seasons. If you are picking this book up, or are thinking of it, chances are you are a fan yourself, and missing the show just as much. If you are a newcomer to the world of Penny Dreadful, all you need to know is that it explores the horror and supernatural elements lurking under the surface in a splendidly gothic late Victorian world, and it is most definitely worth a visit.

Tracee Ellis Ross participated in #FlashbackFriday, the social media hashtag for the day, and dug up an old photo of her and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Early on in Penny Dreadful’s third season premiere, Sir Malcolm, Ethan, the Creature and Vanessa appeared to be locked in a competition to see which of them could be the biggest Debbie Downer. Not that you could blame them, really.
Having just laid Sembene to rest, Sir Malcolm was in Zanzibar and eager to be “quit of the filthy place”; Ethan was being escorted across the New Mexico Territory by Rusk and what seemed like an inordinate number of marshals — even for the extradition of a werewolf; the Creature was stuck on a ship that was frozen in place in the Arctic; and,...

Penny Dreadful has already been likened to Alan Moore's League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and those comparisons are going to become more frequent now that they've added Dr. Jekyll to the mix. According to Variety Shazad Latif (The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) will play an interpretation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Dr. Henry Jekyll, and most likely his murderous alter-ego Mr. Hyde at some point, too. The site also reports that Patti LuPone, who played Joan Clayton (aka the Cut-Wife) season two, will be returning as a different character: Dr. Seward, who will treat Eva Green’s bewitched Vanessa Ives with an “unconventional new approach.” Other new additions include Wes Studi as Kaetenay, "an intense, enigmatic Native American with a deep connection to Ethan (Josh Hartnett)", and Christian Camargo as Dr. Alexander Sweet, "a zoologist who strikes up an unlikely friendship with Vanessa." Penny Dreadful returns with 9 new episodes...

He's 89 years old, and his career is hotter than ever. With hits like Thor, Captain America and X-Men: First Class dominating the box office in 2011, and upcoming films like The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man looking to light up the summer in 2012, you'd think that a man whose career in comic books began just prior to World War II might want to slow down. Think again -- because this 89 year-old dynamo is named Stan Lee. This year's Sundance Film Festival offered a smorgasbord of art-house delights, but its competitor across the street -- the scrappy Slamdance Film Festival -- presented one of Park City's best events last week when it hosted comic book legend Stan Lee for a two-hour master class associated with Slamdance's screening of the new documentary, With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story. Just two days after receiving the Vanguard Award from the Producers Guild of America,...
