- Joyce Kim Lee is an Emmy Award-winning Costume Designer with more than 25 years of experience, most recently on Disney Channel's popular show, "Just Roll With It." The first-of-its-kind series blends a scripted family sitcom with improvisational comedy to give the studio audience an opportunity to vote on the outcome of certain scenes.
Born in Ohio to Korean immigrants, Joyce graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University with a BFA in Costume Design. Upon graduating, she was awarded a Costume Design Fellowship at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. with Paul Tazewell ("Hamilton"), the resident Costume Designer at the time.
After assisting regionally and on Broadway, Joyce went on to design costumes for over 50 productions in theatre, opera, and dance. She was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts/Theatre Communications Grant as well as an LA Ovation Award Nomination for Best Costume Design for "The House of Bernarda Alba" at the Mark Taper Forum, starring Chita Rivera and Sandra Oh.
Since transitioning from stage to film and television, she has worked on over 30 projects designing hundreds of episodes and numerous pilots, many of which required custom creations. Additional credits include "The Muppets," "Walk the Prank," "The Haunted Hathaways," and "The Fresh Beat Band," for which Joyce was honored with a Daytime Emmy Award and 4 consecutive nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design. Her designs for the show were also exhibited at the 6th Annual Outstanding Art of Television Costume Design at FIDM.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Joyce Kim Lee
