Dragon Blade Trailer Has Been Released. Daniel Lee‘s Dragon Blade (2015) movie trailer stars Adrien Brody, John Cusack, and Jackie Chan. Dragon Blade‘s plot synopsis has yet to be officially released.
Though there is no official plot synopsis for this yet, there is a trailer below, and to be honest – who needs more information on this, anyway? I think I will watch this lazily, hazily on a rainy, no brainy Sunday, and have the time of my life. John Cusack looks so incredibly miscast here, you wonder if he’s ever been in a fight. Adrien Brody looks incredibly engaged and out of his mind, which is wonderful news for us. And then there’s Jackie Chan, who looks every bit as dignified and personable as he ever has. Jackie can do no wrong.

"If you stand with us you will be butchered." Lionsgate has debuted the official Us trailer for Dragon Blade, a historic action epic from China directed by Daniel Lee, produced by & starring Jackie Chan. This "action spectacle on a grand scale" features the fight for the Silk Road when East and West collide, in a story about warriors fighting against warriors. Adrien Brody (screaming his heart out) stars as Tiberius, John Cusack stars as Lucius, Jackie Chan stars as Huo An, with Sharni Vinson as Lady Crassus, and Alice Aoki as the Queen. While the footage does look action packed, and that arrow-to-the-face shot is awesome, I'm not so sure about the rest of the hammy acting. Maybe they're just out-of-context scenes? Let's hope so. Here's the official trailer for Daniel Lee's Dragon Blade, direct from Lionsgate's YouTube: When corrupt Roman leader Tiberius (Adrien Brody) arrives with a giant...

The Udine Far East Film Festival (Feff) opened its 17th edition with a bang. Not only did the Italian festival hold the world premiere of the international cut of Dragon Blade, it also managed to have Jackie Chan himself introducing the screening. Too bad the film's overall quality didn't match the glamorous efforts put in by the festival, as Daniel Lee's war drama suffers from too much naivety that cannot be counterbalanced by its technical qualities. Grossing more than $50 million only a few days after its release in local theaters, the Chinese blockbuster revolves around the "true" story of Roman and Chinese armies whose paths cross on the Silk Road during the Han dynasty. Although the encounter between Huo An (Jackie Chan) and Lucius...

Here's the thing about the three leads of upcoming period set martial arts film Dragon Blade: Jackie Chan doesn't give a shit about his English language work, hasn't for a very long time, and doesn't even bother to hide this fact in interviews. Why should he? Mainland China alone makes him one of the world's biggest stars which means he can view the English stuff as a lucrative sideline without any concern for actual quality. John Cusack and Adrien Brody, however? They haven't been doing so hot lately and they are - for lack of a better term - very much violating the age old wisdom that you shouldn't shit where you eat with this one.Daniel Lee directs the upcoming big budget - a reported...

Featuring the cast team up we never knew we wanted, the first trailer for Daniel Lee's Dragon Blade has hit. The plot is pretty insane, giving us a historical action adventure with Jackie Chan's Chinese soldier teaming up with a disgraced Roman general (John Cusack) to battle the evil Roman emperor Tiberius (Adrien Brody), and while it only has release date in China at this stage (February 19th 2015, the start of chinese New Year), there's something about this that has me wisghing for a wider international release.

Through their careers, John Cusack, Jackie Chan and Adrien Brody have each experienced high levels of acclaim and box office success, but what happens when they all come together to make a movie in China? The result is Dragon Blade, the first trailer for which was just released online. Written and directed by Daniel Lee, Dragon Blade is set in China in the year 48 BC. Jackie Chan plays Huo An, a commander with a 1,000-soldier army who teams up with a Roman general named Lucius (John Cusack) to try and protect the borders of China from external invaders. Unfortunately, the blood-thirsty Tiberius (Adrien Brody) has a score to settle with Lucius, and heads his direction with an army of 100,000. I'm sure that part of it has to do with the fact that this trailer (via Webzine Check) feels like it was hastily cut together, but I can't say that I...

If you've always wanted to see Jackie Chan, Adrien Brody and John Cusack get dressed up like gladiators and play an expensive game of pretend, then it looks like Dragon Blade will be the film for you. The epic hails from overseas, where the first trailer has just debuted. Despite some great wardrobe and set designs, the dialogue (which is inexplicably all in English, even from Chan) just sounds like it's being rehearsed in a high school play. It's a wonder how films like this get made when so many much better projects struggle to even get in front of a camera. I don't know what John Cusack is doing anymore. Watch? A new trailer for Daniel Lee’s historical epic, Dragon Blade, has found its way online and stars Jackie Chan, Adrien Brody and John Cusack.
Focusing on the story of the Han Dynasty — an age of economic prosperity in the country of China circa 220 BC — Lee’s ambitious film will center around Chan’s character of Huo An, a powerful commander of an elite task force known as the Protection Squad of the Western Regions.
In terms of story, we understand that Dragon Blade will have similar beats to Ridley Scott’s sword-and-sandals epic Gladiator, as the story will follow a wayward Roman soldier who crosses paths with a former guard (Chan) in the Western desert. It’s not a terribly original plot by any means, but given that the entire film is in Mandarin, it’ll be interesting to see Brody and Cusack’s respective performances against the backdrop...

More than four years after it opened in Asia, Daniel Lee's 14 Blades is finally coming to America, marking the return of Donnie Yen as a martial arts hero. Right off hand, I have no idea why it took so long for the movie to hit the U.S. market, and I have no idea why Radius/TWC decided that this particular movie was the right one to push out now. I'm sure it had nothing at all to do with the recent, entirely unexpected success of Bong Joon-ho's Snowpiercer from the same company (?!). In any event, the movie will open in a small number of theaters on Friday, August 22, ahead of a more usual home video release about two weeks later. As it happens,...

Blades of Glory: Lee Brings the Old West to the Ming Dynasty
Hong Kong filmmaker Daniel Lee’s 2010 film, 14 Blades is at last making its way to Us soil this summer. It’s been a curiously long wait considering the film plays like a genre hybrid of Western gunslinger cinema and martial arts aesthetics, and Lee has gone on to direct two other features since completing this one. Amassed with bountiful action sequences and handsome visuals, the expertly utilized special effects will be reason enough for genre fans to enjoy the film. But at a running time of nearly two hours and a slim narrative, the film outweighs its welcome for those hoping for a bit more substance.

"Fight!" Yep, you read that right - this film is from 2010. This film opened in China/Taiwan/Hong Kong way back in 2010, and was released on DVD in 2011, but never made it to the Us. In fact, it's just now getting released in the Us under the title 14 Blades, even though the original title was akin to The Brocaded Robe Guards. Martial arts star Donnie Yen plays General Qinlong in this "kung fu thriller set during the Ming Dynasty and centered on a secret service agent (Yen) in the emperor's court who is betrayed and then hunted by his colleagues." If you're into kung fu or martial arts thrillers, it's worth taking a look at - though I fear many fans may have already seen this film over the last few years. This also features Sammo Hung. (Cbr) Jackie Chan’s upcoming historical epic "Dragon Blade" has enlisted some A-list Hollywood talent. According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Cusack and Adrien Brody are on board to play Roman soldiers in ancient China. The website notes that, at $65 million, this will be the highest-budget Chinese-language film of all time. Inspired by historical events, the film finds Cusack playing a Roman general named Lucius, who leads 1,000 of his soldiers into China during the Han dynasty. Brody’s Tiberius has 100,000 men on Lucius’ trail. Chan plays Huo An, who teams up with Lucius to defend against Tiberius’ advances. The film is directed by Daniel Lee, whose better-known films stateside are probably "Black Mask" and "Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon." While "Dragon Blade" doesn’t have a set U.S. release date, the film will debut in China on Feb. 19, otherwise known as Chinese Lunar New Year’s Day, a...

Now he's found another odd project, and a pair of somewhat struggling actors have come aboard the film as well. Hollywood actors John Cusack and Adrien Brody are heading to China for the big-budget historical action epic “Dragon Blade.” The duo will be joining the film’s Chinese star Jackie Chan in a film directed by Daniel Lee that will cost its investors around $65 million, making it the most expensive movie in Chinese history. Goes to show you that money goes farther in other countries. In a bloated and excessive Hollywood, a $65 million dollar movie would be what, a moderately budgeted film? “Dragon Blade” will co-star Cusack as Lucius, “a Roman general who leads a legion of soldiers into China. Brody plays power-hungry Tiberius, who has killed Roman Consul Crassus and chases after Lucius with 100,000 troops.” Chan, meanwhile, would play the “commander of the protectorate of the western regions, who teams up with Lucius to protect China’s borders and sovereignty.” I’m not entirely sure if this is based on actual events or what.

A $65 million price tag might seem like pocket change to the likes of James Cameron, but Dragon Blade’s budget makes it one of the three most expensive films shot in China. With Jackie Chan in the lead, the producers are aiming for even more international appeal, hiring John Cusack and Adrien Brody to co-star.Daniel Lee is busy marshalling the troops for this, a period action film that sees Roman soldiers encountering Chinese warriors. Cusack is set as Lucius, a Roman general who marches a legion into China, while Brody will be the villain, a power hungry type known as Tiberius, who has overthrown his own Consul and is chasing after our hero with 100,000 troops.Lucius will naturally need a little help, and he finds it in the shape of Chan’s character, commander of the protectorate of the western regions, who wants to protect his country’s borders.

Kung Fu legend Jackie Chan is about to team up with Hollywood actor Mel Gibson, in the movie Dragon Blade directed by Daniel Lee (14 Blades). The movie will be about a Roman leader (Mel Gibson), who gets caught up in China where he comes face to face with Jackie Chan. Someone threatens the world and the two must team up to take them down.
When i first heard the news, i was surprised by the cast and also the kind of movie being made has it’s a period movie. But, i am really looking forward to this movie and think at Jackie’s age, it’s good to try different roles other than the usual Rush Hour roles he receives.
Jackie also has Skip Trace coming out in the future, also plans to do Karate Kid 2 and Rush Hour 4 means Jackie aint going anywhere, any time soon and thank god for that.

Black Mask

Hong Kong, 1996
As Black Mask opens, a series of distorted images edited together in rapide fire MTV music video style is accompanied by a narrator explaining that a short while ago the Chinese government invested heavily in the creation of a squad of super soldiers named the 701st. The experiment proved disastrous however as it ended up producing super thugs rather than super heroes for the most part. Tsui Chik (Jet Li) was one such bio-engineered soldier who made it out alive when the state opted to liquidate its failed crop. Tsui keeps to himself mostly, working as a librarian and playing chess with his only friend, police inspector Shek Wai-Ho (Ching Wan Lau). When Hong Kong’s mob leaders are murdered in increasingly gruesome fashion in a series of elaborate attacks, Tsui finds himself thrust into action as his super hero...

The Man Inside
Stars: David Harewood, Michelle Ryan, Peter Mullan, Theo Barklem-Biggs, Jason Maza, Ashley Bashy Thomas | Written and Directed by Dan Turner
It’s fair to say that some films get confused as to what they are. The Man Inside for example has “urban drama” elements about a character trying to stop his family from falling into the trap of the gang culture that is so prevalent in this type of film, then of course there is the element of boxing and add to that the theme of parental abuse it’s easy to get confused as to what to focus on. While some complain that there is not enough boxing in it and some think it’s not “urban” enough the actual point of the film can be lost. This is what I feel hinders The Man Inside from being seen for what it is.
