Star Trek: Discovery’s journey comes to an end, and it leaves behind a sense of frustration. Spoilers lie ahead.
Nb: The following contains spoilers…
The end of Star Trek: Discovery arrives, then, not with a firework display of pop culture anticipation, but rather the whimper of a series that never translated beyond a highly protective core fanbase of viewers. You do or die with Discovery, it seems. Mine, in the end, has been a death by 60+ episodes.
The episode ‘Life, Itself’ by all accounts was never conceived as a series finale, rather Kyle Jarrow and Michelle Paradise’s episode, directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi, was meant to wrap up a fifth season. It provided in theory the biggest Discovery plotline yet – the search for the Progenitors, a long extinct race who seeded the known universe of life. It doesn’t get much bigger than Space Gods.
Yet what was promoted in the season premiere,...

This Star Trek: Discovery article contains spoilers.
After five seasons, Star Trek: Discovery, the series that launched a new era of Star Trek programming on television, has come to an end with the finale “Life, Itself.” Leaning heavily on the science fiction action and prominently connecting with Star Trek elements introduced in the ‘90s, Discovery’s fifth and final season brought the adventures of Starfleet officer Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) to a satisfying close. That conclusion includes a coda that was added after the creative team learned Discovery would not be renewed for a sixth season. The additional scenes were filmed to provide the finale with greater closure.
At the helm of the fifth season was Michelle Paradise, who has been an executive producer on the series since the second season and co-showrunner, with series co-creator Alex Kurtzman, since Discovery season 3. Paradise recently sat down with Den of Geek to...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the Star Trek: Discovery series finale “Life, Itself.”] It was an emotional ending for Star Trek: Discovery, on and offscreen, for the cast. The Paramount+ series ended after five seasons, and what this show got that very rarely happens is the chance to go back and film a coda. In it, years in the future after Saru (Doug Jones) and T’Rina’s (Tara Rosling) wedding, Admiral Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) takes Discovery on one last journey, and while doing so, she sees herself young again, back with her crew on the bridge. Below, Jones talks about filming that coda and the beautiful wedding and shares what he thinks happened next for Saru in the time that was skipped. Talk about finding out the show would be ending and then getting to go back to film that coda. Doug Jones: It’...

Two of the credited screenwriters on Leonard Nimoy's "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" were Steve Meerson and Peter Krikes, the screenwriters behind the Frankie Avalon/Annette Funicello flick "Back to the Beach," the two-Van-Dammes-for-the-price-of-one movie "Double Impact," and the 1999 would-be Oscar darling "Anna and the King." "Star Trek IV" was one of their first major screenwriting gigs, and it was a dizzying experience. The screenwriters remembered meeting with Nimoy and with producer Harve Bennett for a brainstorming session, and it seems that no one could come to any kind of solid conclusions. Bennett mentioned that he wanted the next movie to be a throwback to "The City on the Edge of Forever," one of the most celebrated episodes of the series. Nimoy was in a weird headspace, talking about environmentalism and biodiversity. Meerson recalls: "Leonard started talking about plankton, cells, that cells become plankton, that things eat plankton...

In the "Star Trek: Voyager" episode "In the Flesh" the U.S.S. Voyager encounters a mysterious space station that contains a perfect simulation of Starfleet Academy back on Earth. The simulation contains familiar faces from Starfleet Academy, including the friendly groundskeeper Boothby (Ray Walston). Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) is suspicious of the simulation, and some investigation finds that the "humans" she encounters inside are actually genetically altered members of Species 8472, vicious aliens from an alternate dimension full of fluid. Species 8472 is convinced that humans intend to invade their dimension and take over, and they are using simulations to better know a potential enemy.
Armed with this knowledge, Janeway enters into negotiations with Species 8472, hoping to end the hostilities between them and the Voyager. The negotiations are held with Boothby, a woman named Commander Valerie Archer (Kate Vernon), and the grumpy Admiral Bullock (Tucker Smallwood).

Disney+ still has eyes for Vision. Paul Bettany will return to his Marvel role as the humanoid conception of the malevolent supercomputer Ultron, but a good guy, but also undead because Thanos killed him a few movies back. It’s comics, it’s meant to be confusing.
“WandaVision,” in which Bettany starred opposite Elizabeth Olsen, remains one of the most successful of the Disney+ Marvel shows, netting both Bettany and Olsen Emmy nominations—one of eight Primetime Emmy nominations for the show, as well as 12 Creative Arts Emmy nominations and three wins.
Terry Matalas has been tapped as executive producer and showrunner for the series, due to stream in 2026. Matalas’s most recent gig was over at Paramount+, where he had the center seat on the third season of “Star Trek: Picard.” Most nerds will agree that the third season was the best, pivoting away from the original mandate of...

Sixty years ago, Walt Disney and his talented team of storytellers, artists, designers, and Imagineers made a huge splash on the world stage, contributing four magnificent attractions to the 1964 World’s Fair in New York. Luffy’s Gear 5 is right now the epitome of his powers in One Piece. He unlocked these powers while fighting Kaido during the Wano arc, and he defeated the strongest creature in the world. However, these powers might not be able to save him in the Egghead Island arc as the Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates is fighting the Five Elders, the strongest individuals in the World Government.
Gear 5 Luffy vs Kaido | Toei Animation
As of now, Luffy has been struggling against the Gorosei, and no matter which move he tries, he is not able to even land a scratch on them, much less defeat them. Therefore, there is a chance that Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, might introduce a new power-up for the protagonist. And the recent events in Chapter 1114 might have already hinted at this upcoming power-up.

With the 2022 film, Top Gun: Maverick, Val Kilmer returned to the role that brought him widespread acclaim, Lt. Tom Kazansky, aka Iceman. Bringing Tom Cruise back as Pete Maverick more than three decades after the original film’s release, the sequel went on to become one of the most significant hits of Cruise’s career.

Although the first arc of the finale saga of One Piece, Egghead, disclosed many facts, revealed the mysterious Five Elders, and provided many exciting fights, the main plot of the Egghead Island arc centered around the World Government attempting to assassinate Dr. Vegapunk and his Satellites. And his message that is being delivered to the world is proof that they succeeded in killing him.
Dr. Vegapunk in One Piece
It was revealed at the beginning of the story that Dr. Vegapunk was conducting research that went against the policies of the World Government, which is why they decided to kill their biggest technological ally. However, this might not be the only reason why Dr. Vegapunk was given the status of the most wanted person in One Piece.

Former President Donald Trump mocked Democratic Sen. Jon Tester’s (D-Montana) weight, stating that he “looks pregnant.”
Trump made these remarks on May 4 during a private fundraising event at his Mar-a-Lago resort for Rep. Ronnie Jackson (R-Texas), who had been the former president’s White House physician. Tester helped torpedo Jackson’s nomination for Veteran’s Secretary during the Trump administration.
“He’s now in a tough campaign, and he could very well lose,” Trump stated about Tester. “We ought to go up and campaign against him. In fact, I looked at him and I said, ‘Oh, this finally works for a man or woman, because he looks pregnant to me.'”
The audience laughed as the former president kept speaking.

Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus One Piece stands as a monumental figure in the anime and manga industry for featuring a rich and captivating story with vibrant characters with a mysterious past. Oda-Sensei’s world has been ravaged by pirates on the hunt for the legendary treasure which happens to be the same name as the show. It has been 27 years since the first chapter of the Shonen series which was published in 1997, none has managed to find it.
Monkey D. Luffy in One Piece
Even though none of the pirates could come close to finding the overzealous treasure, a number of fan theories have surfaced regarding the ultimate treasure or the series’ plot and its character. This one fan theory for Oda-Sensei’s Shonen series follows how Monkey D. Luffy’s father was the former Admiral Shiroryu.

The sense of brotherhood prevalent among the Clones often contributes to some of the most poignant storylines in the universe of Star Wars, and the animated series Bad Batch was a prime examples. After three memorable seasons, the series finally came to an end with the final episode of the third season, and the emotional connection established with the eponymous team of Clones was done justice to in a befitting way.

Zack Snyder may not have been able to bring Justice League 2 to life, but he was able to repurpose a scene for Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver
Rebel Moon 2 includes a “Last Supper” scene in which Kora (Sofia Boutella) and the other rebels trade war stories while awaiting the final battle against Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein). Snyder told THR that this scene was originally included in his Justice League sequel. “There absolutely is a Last Supper in Justice League 2, and the scene had them telling the stories of how they got there, because Justice League 2 was going to open with us now 10 years in the future. ‘How did we get here?’” Snyder explained. “So that was kind of it, and yes, [Rebel Moon — Part Two’s sequence] has a similar sort of structure to the Justice League 2 scene that we have.“

The Cylons, androids created by man, are the villains of "Battlestar Galactica," but they wear human guises. This reflects how the show's human heroes are all deeply flawed people and humanity's foibles (from arrogance to self-destructive) continue to haunt them even as their technology soars past the modern day.
Indeed, the best villain in "Battlestar Galactica" was a human character: Admiral Helena Cain (Michelle Forbes), commander of the Battlestar Pegasus. In the series' pilot min-series, the Cylons attack humanity's 12 colonies. The only survivors appear to be Galactica herself and a handful of civilian spaceships, who set out to find the mythical world Earth to be their new home.
Midway through season 2 in the episode, "Pegasus," the Galactica and her fleet meet the Pegasus, the other Battlestar which survived the genocide.. It doesn't stay a happy reunion for long. In a great dramatic move, Cain pulls rank on Commander Adama (Edward James Olmos...

Zack Snyder finally delivers epic battle action in “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver” (currently streaming on Netflix), the sequel to his space opera that began as a “Seven Samurai”-inspired “Star Wars” pitch. In fact, the 122-minute, PG-13 version contains nearly an hour of mostly ultra slo-mo fighting in parallel montages. (The upcoming extended cut this summer promises another hour of gory footage.)
In terms of VFX, that breaks down to 1,316 shots for a combined 745 battle shots. Plus, there are impressive flashbacks of battles pertaining to the crew of warriors prior to the big event.
It was quite an undertaking for production VFX supervisor Marcus Taormina, considering that he simultaneously worked on “Part One: A Child of Fire” and “Part Two: The Scargiver.” But like a strategic-minded military leader, he laid the groundwork in “Part One” for the moment in “Part Two” when the Nazi-like Imperium forces (led by...

You might remember English actor Julian Glover for his role as Walter Donovan, the villain of "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade." A Nazi collaborator who wants the Holy Grail to achieve immortality, he meets a grisly end when he chooses ... poorly.
In his native England, Glover was a renowned member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. In Hollywood, though? He's a 6'2 British man, so, of course, he plays the heels, even in his later roles like Pycelle on "Game of Thrones." (Who knows if he'll show up in "3 Body Problem" with his former co-stars.)
"Last Crusade" was not Glover's first rodeo with Lucasfilm; he had a much smaller role in "The Empire Strikes Back" as Imperial General Veers. The general only shows up in the film's first act, but he leads the At-at assault on the Hoth Rebel base (with some insert shots of him riding in the...

1. Always hire Anthony Hopkins to deliver exposition. The man is an Oscar-winner, he’s played everybody from Hamlet to Hannibal Lecter, he’s got the best butter-melting British purr in the business. So if you’re Zack Snyder — or even if you’re not Zack Snyder, but are dropping the second chapter of a needlessly complicated space saga and need to get folks back up to speed — you enlist Sir Anthony to say things like: “On the far edges of the Motherworld’s reach, circling the gas giant Mara, was the small moon of Veldt…...

This Rebel Moon article contains spoilers.
Like Star Wars before it, and Dune earlier this year, Zack Snyder‘s two-part space epic Rebel Moon ends with the defeat of an evil Empire. At least a temporary one. While Kora (Sofia Boutella) and the rest of the heroes have defended the moon of Veldt from Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein) and his dreadnought, the Imperium still stands, presumably ready to strike back in a future movie.
Balisarius (Fra Fee) is still emperor and Kora still has unfinished business with her treacherous father figure. And in Part 2: The Scargiver, we also learn Princess Issa (Stella Grace Fitzgerald) may still be alive. It’s a new hope for a galaxy stuck in a vicious circle of endless wars. Rebel Moon ends with this revelation, planting the seed for Kora’s next quest were Netflix to green light a third part of the brutal sci-fi saga.

[The following story contains spoilers for Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver.]
Zack Snyder knows the intricate future of his Rebel Moon universe, and now it’s up to the audience to make sure that Netflix leadership feels the demand to bring as many as four more movies to fruition.
Between today’s release of Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver and this summer’s R-rated director’s cuts of Part One and Two, Netflix subscribers will have plenty of opportunities to impose their will on the streamer, but currently, the situation is up in the air now that Snyder is caught up in an all-too-familiar regime change. Gone is the director’s longtime collaborator Scott Stuber, and with Dan Lin now taking the reins from Stuber as Netflix’s new film chief, it’s anyone’s guess as to how things will unfold.

Director Zack Snyder is once again making headlines, and we all know what that means: gorgeous visuals, provocative world-building, and another divisive movie. "Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver" is now streaming on Netflix and serves as the latest installment in the filmmaker's new, original franchise. (You can check out my review for the sequel here.) Initially conceived as a "Star Wars" pitch before Snyder took his talents elsewhere, his operatic space saga still bursts with colorful imagery and reams of nerdy details and lore that would've filled any "The Art of Star Wars" book from cover to cover -- and, in fact, that's pretty much exactly what a new art and making-of book has done.
Titled "Rebel Moon: Wolf: Ex Nihilo: Cosmology & Technology" from author Peter Aperlo, this official book is described as:

Finding acceptance in one’s own self is the first and most important part of redemption, which is the central theme in the recently released Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver, the second movie entry in Zack Snyder’s space opera franchise. Set in the fictional galactic empire centered on Motherworld, the first part of Netflix’s Rebel Moon 1 managed to draw viewers’ attention thanks to the narrative similarity it shared with Seven Samurai and Star Wars: Rogue One, uniting a ragtag group of warriors to stand against a cosmic dictatorship, but the lack of originality in Snyder’s vision made for a rather forgettable experience. Releasing shortly after the release of the first part, the sequel had a chance to expand the lore by utilizing the creative freedom provided to the makers, but it ends up venturing merely knee-deep into the past lives of the key characters showcased in...

Spoiler Alert: This review reveals details of both Rebel Moon movies.
Slow-motion scenes that sputter story pacing? Check.
Poorly developed characters? Check.
Plot holes bigger than the Milky Way? Check.
… And we’re back with part two of Zack Snyder’s Netflix space opera Rebel Moon -Part Two: The Scargiver. You might not be a shock to hear this, but part two manages to be worse than part one. Its biggest offense? Nothing happening for way too long. The film stars Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae, Staz Nair, Elise Duffy and Anthony Hopkins as the voice of Jimmy the robot. While this is a capable cast of actors, they have nothing to work with. I wonder if the reason Snyder hasn’t delivered a comprehensible script in some time is because he wears too many hats as writer, producer, director and cinematographer on most of his films?...

Wheat. So much wheat.
That’s the main takeaway from the second installment of Zack Snyder’s interplanetary space saga that, depending on your perspective, either pays homage to or shamelessly rips off previous epics ranging from Seven Samurai to Star Wars. If you add up the running times of both Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver and the first film, it amounts to well over four hours. It’s not surprising, considering that this one features a sequence in which the characters harvest wheat for what seems longer than a Swedish art film. And I know that the setting is supposed to be an alternate universe, but considering that it features space ships and technically advanced weaponry, it seems a bit absurd that farming hasn’t advanced beyond scythes. Although the extremely buff performers look damn good wielding them.
Such musings are unavoidable when confronted with this would-be epic,...

A new movie just came out from Zack Snyder, the divisive but provocative director who has inspired legions of passionate and loyal fans online, but it hardly feels like anyone outside of the internet knows or even cares much. Perhaps that's the peril of falling into the streaming trap, where name-brand talents receive sky-high budgets for productions that no traditional studio is willing to support ... only to be promptly forgotten once its brief time in Netflix's weekly Top 10 reports comes and goes. Full disclosure: It's downright strange to have been able to see "Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver" in a theater and base this review on that experience, particularly when the vast majority of those reading this will never have the same opportunity. Yet it's stranger still that the film we've received, from a visionary auteur whose battles with corporate overlords during his tenure in the DC...

Love him or hate him, you cannot deny Zack Snyder garners more attention than most filmmakers working today. It’s no surprise that his fans have been champing at the bit to see his the second part of his dark sci-fi epic, which it titled Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver.
Snyder debuted Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Light in December. That film introduced viewers to a futuristic science fiction world, drawing from beloved tropes about scrappy rebels, mysterious prophecies, and a totalitarian empire. The movie pulls ideas from Star Wars, the samurai films of Akira Kurosawa, and Frank Herbert’s Dune imbues them with his signature gritty style to create something that feels very nerdy and very Snyder.

In the anime and manga world, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece is known as the God of foreshadowing. The creator over the period of almost 30 years has introduced many mysteries which has shocked the One Piece fan multiple times. Not only that, they also make the One Piece story interesting.
Imu in One Piece
One such mystery that fans believe to be foreshadowed by Oda is the identity of Imu, the ruler or the “God” of the One Piece world. First introduced in the Reverie arc, Imu is the potential final antagonist of One Piece and although he has not made a full appearance in the series, he has already caused a lot of destruction.
There is a belief among One Piece fans that Imu has been inspired by Egyptian Gods and deities and may have a deeper connection to the Alabasta region of the One Piece world.

In the "Star Trek: Prodigy" episode "Mindwalk", the crew of the U.S.S. Protostar has learned that their ship is infected with an insidious computer virus planted by the evil Diviner (John Noble). It seems that the virus can be spread through mere communications channels, meaning Dal (Brett Gray), Gwyn (Ella Purnell), and the rest of the Protostar teens can't explain who they are to the grumpy Admiral Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) pursuing them in a massive vessel called the U.S.S. Dauntless. If the virus infects a ship, its systems will be rewired to automatically attack other Federation vessels. The Diviner aims to destroy the Federation before a cataclysmic future event occurs; the Diviner, naturally, is a time traveler.
With the Dauntless on their tail, Dal realizes that he can communicate with Janeway. Dal, it seems, has some mild and latent telepathic abilities, and reaches out to communicate directly to Janeway's brain.

One Piece has finally featured one of the most awaited rematches in the anime. After more than 700 episodes later, Monkey D. Luffy exchanged blows with his former nemesis, Rob Lucci. Previously, he was the leader of Cp-9, but currently, he has been promoted to Cp-0. The Egghead Island arc featured both of them in their awakened form and gifting the fans another great moment.
After Luffy transformed into Gear 5 and hit Rob Lucci, the latter wasted no time showcasing his awakened form. Even though both have awakened their Devil Fruit, there seems to be a disparity between the two, which proves Luffy’s Devil Fruit to be unique. He is the only Zoan-type user who has this ability, and not even the Gorosei has shown the unique ability.

One Piece Episode 1100 was a real milestone for the anime-only fans, as not only did it bring back the super popular Gear 5 form of Luffy, but it also kicked off the major battle of the ongoing Egghead Arc. However, this is just the beginning as there are some huge new battles we are about to witness.

Spoiler shields up! This article discusses events up to and including episode 3 of "Star Trek: Discovery" season 5.
Who knew we'd been watching an origin story? Last week, "Discovery" dropped the surprise reveal that the newly-introduced (former) Captain Rayner had been carefully maneuvered by the writing team to serve as a potential replacement to Mr. Saru (Doug Jones) in the position of Number One, despite firmly establishing himself as something of an antagonistic and far more reckless counterpoint to Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) during their near-disastrous away mission. It isn't every day that a Starfleet vessel recruits a new bridge officer at the onset of a critical assignment of top priority, let alone someone who was only just forced into early retirement after a scathing inquiry into his actions. But Burnham saw something in him (even if Ensign Tilly still can't figure out what that is) and with Saru off...

One Piece is a world that expands on a power system unique to its own. Each and every character has a skill set that makes them stand apart. Whether it is about the Devil Fruits, the Yonkos, or the mythologies streaming behind the river of possibilities. One of the most mysterious of the lot happens to be Sanji. His powers have so far been either a developing concoction or a brewing tale.

One theory, interestingly enough, suggests that his true abilities have always been in front of the fans. In fact, while the series may not have officially introduced his actual potential yet, there is a strong possibility that there is a process underway.
