“You break the rules and become a hero,” Wanda Maximoff tells Stephen Strange at the start of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. “I do it and I become the enemy… doesn’t seem fair.”
That line from should confuse some viewers. After all, such rule breaking didn’t occur in 2016’s Doctor Strange, to which Multiverse of Madness is a sequel. It happened in Avengers: Infinity War. And Wanda’s rule-breaking happened in WandaVision. During the drive to Avengers: Endgame, this type of comprehensive world-building was a feature and not a bug of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But it’s become a distraction for some fans, which is why Marvel has rebranded its divisions, into Marvel Film, Marvel Television, and Marvel Animation.
According to Marvel streaming head Brad Winderbaum (via Variety), the rebrand addresses a problem among fans. “There was a lot of pressure post-Avengers: Endgame on...

Filmmaker Scott Derrickson helmed the first Doctor Strange back in 2016. The noted horror filmmaker, who was known for his film Sinister handled the first live-action depiction of the Sorcerer Supreme in the MCU. The film received positive responses around the world and was a commercial success, earning $677 million at the global box office.
While Derrickson did a great job with the film, he left the sequel after working on it for a while due to creative differences. Recently, a fan posted a nice detail about the first film which proved why the MCU was great back in the day and why Kevin Feige seemed to have forgotten the kind of creators that were involved in its making.

Benedict Cumberbatch has played many iconic characters in his career. Be it his breakthrough role of playing Sherlock Holmes in BBC’s Sherlock or voicing Smaug in The Hobbit franchise, Cumberbatch has brought his absolute best to each role. He has been playing the role of Doctor Strange in the MCU since 2016 and has been featured as the character in multiple films.
However, the Sorcerer Supreme was not the first role that he was offered in the Marvel franchise. While Strange met the Asgardian brothers Thor and Loki in Thor: Ragnarok, Cumberbatch would have met them even earlier had he accepted the initial part offered to him by the studio. However, he chose to wait it out instead.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has found himself sharing the screen with a host of leading men throughout his trilogy. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Robert Downey Jr. made an extended cameo as Iron Man. The second film had Jake Gyllenhaal as the main antagonist of the film. The third film had Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange implementing Holland in the film.
Tom Holland as Spider-Man in a still from Spider-Man: No Way Home
Given that it’s been heavily rumored that a fourth Spider-Man film is in the works, the question that must be asked is who would be assisting Tom Holland with their star power in the film. Given that we have already gotten a teaser at the end of No Way Home with the piece of the symbiote that was left behind, there is one scientist who could mentor Peter and bring in the star power to a fourth Spider-Man film.

The second time I saw "Doctor Strange" in a theater (I liked it enough to watch it more than once), I was seated next to a young boy. I vividly recall the scene where Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) crashes his car on a mountain road and violently flips over several times before landing in a body of water below. There was a brief pause, at which point the boy next to me said (loud enough for me to hear), "I sure wouldn't want that to happen to my Lamborghini!"
Kids sure do say the darndest things. They can also be somewhat sociopathic. It's not because they're all secretly the Antichrist in disguise (although it happens more often than you'd think), it's because they simply don't know any better. This can make things particularly awkward when they're potty training or discover that their genitals have multiple uses, like Bella Baxter (Emma Stone) in "Poor Things.

Avengers: Secret Wars To Address Robert Downey Jr’s Sacrifice By Killing This Avenger… (Picture Credit: IMDb)
Despite the glorious Marvel time ending in 2019, 5 years later, with 2024 staring right at us, we’re still talking about how the MCU still has some tricks up its sleeves. Just like how Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man replaced Nebula (as portrayed in the comic book event Infinity Gauntlet) to eliminate Thanos, it looks like Avengers: Secret Wars will follow the same route.
The speculations of the introduction of Doctor Doom or The Beyonder to design the Battleworld, also known as Doom’s World. A little comic book flashback for those who have forgotten: Doctor Doom stole the powers from the Beyonders secretly via the Molecule Man. Hence, ‘Secret Wars’.
Doom used this power to create Battleworld, a patchwork planet of fragments from different realities. He ruled over this world as the “God Emperor” for eight years,...

Heavy spoilers for "The Marvels" follow.
"Avengers: Endgame" remains a monumental blockbuster, one that marked the end of Marvel as we knew it and should have marked a nice and long break for the franchise.
Since "Endgame," the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been in a bit of disarray. There's no unifying plot, nor a lot that connects the movies or characters. This makes it easier for the MCU to simply ignore and forget about every single world-changing event in the new movies and shows the moment credits roll.
Sure, this is supposed to be a saga about the multiverse, a concept explored in a few of the movies and shows of Phases 4 and 5. But that hasn't unified the titles thematically — until now. With "The Marvels," it becomes clear that the MCU is united by a common theme post "Endgame "and that's the idea that you cannot save everyone. It is...

The director behind one of the McU's latest blockbusters teased a "dark side" to Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange.
Despite its middling critical reception, it is hard to argue Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness did not try to capture the sinister side of Stephen Strange and Marvel magic.
Not only was Raimi's horror background on full display, but the Doctor Strange sequel took a dive into darker themes like how far can a hero be pushed before the start to crack.

Benedict Cumberbatch has been a working actor for more than 20 years, even getting a couple of Oscar nominations, but things turned around for him when he starred as the title character in Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange” in 2016. Cumberbatch last appeared as the character in 2022’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” but he recently hinted that Dr. Stephen Strange will be returning sooner rather than later.
Cumberbatch recently appeared as a guest on the JW3 Speaker Series, and inevitably, the talk veered toward Marvel’s good doctor, who may appear in one of the 2024 releases going by Cumberbatch stating, “There are some Marvel capers in the making next year.”
“Multiverse of Madness” ended in a cliffhanger, and it did well enough at the box office – it grossed $955.8 million worldwide – to warrant a third “Doctor Strange” movie, although none has been announced or dated yet. Cumberbatch’s comment makes it sound like he...

Despite what you might think about the Marvel Cinematic Universe these days, one thing Marvel Studios always does great is casting, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange is one of many great examples of how Marvel Studios knows which actors must be picked for certain roles.
Cumberbatch first debuted as Doctor Stephen Strange in 2016’s ‘Doctor Strange,’ after which he reprised the role in ‘Thor: Ragnarok,’ ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ and his standalone sequel ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’ In all of these projects, Cumberbatch’s performance as Doctor Strange has always been widely praised, and given that he’s now one of the most important MCU characters, the fans surely can’t wait to see him again.
