Warning: This article contains spoilers for the BBC sitcom Ghosts
One of the best things about BBC sitcom Ghosts is the way the cast welcomes viewers into its heartwarming friendship circle, and makes us feel like one of the gang. They might be one of the tightest ensembles in the business, but there’s a definite generosity of spirit (pun intended) in Ghosts, and a “the more the merrier” vibe.
Perhaps this is why there’ve been so many memorable guest stars. The show easily attracts superstar-level names as well as giving a well-earned platform to some of the UK’s rising comedy stars. While we eagerly await Ghosts fifth – and sadly final – series, let’s remind ourselves of some of the show’s best guest appearances:
Jennifer Saunders

Zooey Deschanel is the proud mom of two kids, daughter Elsie and son Charlie. Both of Deschanel's children are from her second marriage to film producer Jacob Pechenik; they married in 2015 and separated in 2019. Both Deschanel and Jacob are pretty private about their kids, and when they do post photos of them online, they usually cover up their faces. But Deschanel, who's been in a relationship with "Property Brothers" star Jonathan Scott since 2019, did open up about her blended family in a June Instagram post for Father's Day. She wrote, "As a mom in a co-parenting family I am just so grateful for the dads in mine and my kids' lives! From Daddy(Jacob), to Bonus Daddy (big-dad jonathan), Papa(Caleb) and Grandpa Jim. We are blessed with amazing father figures."
Scott also opened up about life with Elsie and Charlie in a May interview with "Entertainment Tonight." "The kids' dad is a great dad.

"Barbie" cannot be stopped. At the time of this writing, the Greta Gerwig film has become a proper pop culture sensation. Some of this can be attributed to the heartfelt writing, especially a monologue by America Ferrera that describes the experience of being a woman in modern society that will bring tears to many eyes. Then there are the fantastic performances, most notably Margot Robbie as Stereotypical Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken. However, perhaps more than anything, it's the sheer joy of seeing the world many children have imagined over the decades as a place full of real beings.
Barbieland is largely practically built and a confection of pink perfection. Those of us who had Barbies and their wide range of domiciles, vehicles, pets, and outfits (I had the Barbie hot tub that came with pink and purple hair markers and a button to make the water bubble) can...

Just when many were ready to count out The Walking Dead universe, The Walking Dead: Dead City promised a complete story charting Maggie and Negan's journey to New York City.
The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 1 Episode 6 marked the season's conclusion, and it's clear this new entry is setting up plots for the years to come.
We'll start with Negan because there's been such a push and pull with him as he's tried to contain this beast, so to speak, regarding the person he has to become when he's backed against a corner.
We witnessed it many times in The Walking Dead Season 7 and several more throughout the first five episodes of The Walking Dead: Dead City.
Negan doesn't like who he can become during these moments, and he doesn't need to tell the audience because you can see it in Jeffrey Dean Morgan's portrayal of this flawed man...

American Dad directors and creatives stepped in for voiceover cast and key creatives today on San Diego Comic-Con to tease the upcoming season on TBS. The session kicked off with Innerspace parodied episode airing on Sept. 4, in which Francine, Stan’s wife, shrinks down into a small spaceship and takes a ride through Stan’s body; a battle with spiders ensues.
Asked about the Christmas episode this year, director Brent Woods said that Santa is making an appearance as Stan’s family is “transported into a different place, we have fun with them looking like CGI animation.”
One fan asked if B12, the boy band which was assembled by Snot’s uncle. That’s still Tbd.
Another fan raised the question to the panel today in Ballroom 20 as to how the show deals with the network’s standards and practices.

Oscar-winner Jamie Lee Curtis has a new project on the horizon but it will be a few more sleeps until it arrives.
Curtis has teamed once again with illustrator Laura Cornell for a new children’s picture book titled Just One More Sleep: All Good Things Come to Those Who Wait…and Wait…and Wait. Curtis, a New York Times bestselling author, has previously authored such children’s offerings as Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born, Today I Feel Silly and I’m Gonna Like Me.
Just One More Sleep will be published in January from Philomel Books, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers. Per the publisher’s description, the book “celebrates the benefits of delayed gratification and explains why waiting can be wonderful. Waiting is not easy — especially for children, and they often measure the concept of time into how many more sleeps until the special day they are awaiting.

American animation is in an odd place. For creators, directors, and animators, the overriding cultural stigma against animation — that it's just for kids — probably provides a great deal of frustration. That's a joke even the Oscars make. It's a perception that limits the medium and reduces any potentially heady thematic material to something bland and easily digestible. Any material directed towards adults shifts into a mélange of innuendo and pop culture references, and children are condescended to in much the same way.
But even the movies that seem tailor-made for children's sensibilities get lost in the shuffle sometimes. 2012's "Rise of the Guardians," for instance, had a slam-dunk premise and an epic scale. It was a movie that took the fears of children seriously while also providing wildly entertaining set pieces, with beautiful animation and a star-studded cast. And yet, according to The Numbers, it didn't even make its production budget back domestically.

Dominic Thiem is yet to return to where he once was, but he's embracing the challenge of making it back there.
The Austrian sat down exclusively with Tennis Majors and spoke about his journey to the top which has been mostly rocky. There have been some good moments but for the most overall it's not been what you could call smooth sailing.
Slow improvements are visible with part of that being him gaining more confidence and the other part of him being back on clay. Both had a similar effect on his season last year and he's even opted to play some Atp Challengers as opposed to top events. It's a process, one that he feels more in tune with as opposed to the start of the year.

“It follows a typical American family who inherits a farm in the Norwegian mountains and crosses paths with a tricky creature from Nordic folklore, the Barn Elf.
“The family must avoid incurring the wrath of this gnome-like Santa by eschewing all bright lights and loud noises and making sure to leave a bowl of porridge on Christmas Eve.”
The film has been described as “an ambitious artistic bridge between American classics and Norwegian mythology,” as well as “one of those fun rides you rarely come across.”

This The Simpsons review contains spoilers.
The Simpsons Season 34 Episode 20
It is pretty apocalyptic when the locusts are everywhere, but the real monster is Rob Lowe. The Simpsons takes on the next phase of the end times in “The Very Hungry Caterpillars,” with the least teachable moments.
The Covid parody is overt, overdue to the point of last week’s news, but not quite an old joke. This is a very good breakdown of the lockdown mentality without rancor. The episode doesn’t get too preachy by getting very preachy. Extremes are funny, and The Simpsons has no problem poking wounds. The horrific atmosphere is introduced by Professor Frink, standing in for another CDC head in the form of the expert for the Center for Disgusting Caterpillars.
Frink devised a surefire hierarchy to the threat to the local community. He rates the caterpillars on a scale of ickiness, and it really sets the emotional tone.

Exclusive: The Santa Clauses needed someone to play the Easter Bunny in season two, so they went to the only person who could truly embody the cuddly part: the inimitable Tracy Morgan.
The casting of Morgan marks a reunion, of sorts, for the comedian and Santa Clauses creator Jack Burditt; the two worked together on 30 Rock. It’s unclear, for now, how Morgan’s character will hop into the plot.
In the second season of the Disney+ comedy, the Calvin family is back in the North Pole as Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) continues his role as Santa Claus after retirement plans were thwarted when failing to find a worthy successor in season one. Now that Scott and his family have successfully saved Christmas, Scott turns his focus towards training his son Calvin to eventually take over the “family business” as Santa Claus.
Returning series regulars in season two are Elizabeth Mitchell as Mrs.

"Aaaah! Sideshow Bob!" Whenever Krusty the Clown's former sidekick "Rick rolls" Bart Simpson — showing up when least expected — the 10-year-old shrieks in terror. You can't blame the kid. Sideshow Bob has a vendetta against Bart. Bob constantly escapes from prison, attempts murder, and gets sent back to jail in an endless cycle.
Voiced by Kelsey Grammer, Sideshow Bob first appeared in 1990 during the first season of "The Simpsons." He's been a recurring bad guy (and occasional good guy) ever since. Whether he's eradicating television or holding office as mayor on two different continents, Sideshow Bob almost always has a scheme up his sleeves.
Throughout the nearly 750 episodes of "The Simpsons" that exist at the time of this writing, Sideshow Bob has been the focus of 16 of them. How do Sideshow Bob's escapades stack up? How has the series' creative team adapted the character over the years? Let's take a trip...

Disney+ is calling off the hunt for more treasure.
The streamer has canceled its series National Treasure: Edge of History after a single season. The news comes more than two months after the 10-episode series wrapped in early February.
The show premiered in December 2022. Per usual with streaming series, detailed viewing figures aren’t available for Edge of History. It made Nielsen’s streaming rankings once during its run, tying for ninth place among original series for the week of Jan. 16-22. (It’s one of only two Disney+ original series not related to Marvel or Star Wars to make the rankings; The Santa Clauses is the other.)
A follow-up and “expansion” of the National Treasure movie franchise, Edge of History stars Lisette Olivera as Jess, a twentysomething Daca recipient who becomes caught up in a quest to find and secure lost treasures hidden from Spanish conquistadors by a network if Incan,...

As a child, Simon Kassianides and his family, like many, had an impressive collection of Star Wars action figures. "I was a massive Star Wars fan," the actor tells Popsugar. "I grew up with all the toys . . . [My older brother and I] had an Ewok Village, I think. But we had figures completely decimated by the time I got my hands on them - no arms, heads would be popping off and all sorts. I do remember an original Darth Vader without an arm. I just thought he was the coolest thing in the world."
Kassianides now has something even cooler: a Star Wars action figure of himself. And while we can't speak for all of the mini Axe Woveses out in the galaxy, the star's onscreen "The Mandalorian" character has his body parts intact - so far. Kassianides's Mandalorian, Axe Woves, made his debut in season two of the hit streaming series,...

Jason Fitzgerald was standing in front of a boxy e-generator the size of a small trailer, recalling how the technology helped enable a tricky scene on an upcoming Christmas movie starring The Rock.
The veteran rigging gaffer (The Morning Show, You People) had recently worked on Amazon Studios’ Red One, which sees Dwayne Johnson on a mission to save Santa Claus. During a scene shot at a busy shopping mall in Atlanta, Georgia, production needed to power a light-heavy Santa’s Workshop-type setup but couldn’t run long cables to the building’s exterior to do so, recalled Fitzgerald. So, the production discreetly built a Voltstack electric generator into the scene so to quietly power an array of Christmas lights, decorations, animatronics and even a small train without obtrusive cables.
“We’ve used them in churches, you can take them into parking garages, you can put them on skids and take them down into tunnels,...
