From the original Mortal Kombat to Mortal Kombat 1, “Get Over Here” has become an iconic catchphrase among them. Basically, everything that Scorpion does has found a home in the hearts of people. One of his signature moves, when he harpoons the opponents through his Kunai rope dart, can raise the hair strands on anyone’s neck every time they hear it.
Little do they know, this could’ve become a matter of jokes today if the original concept had been added to the game. To that end, Scorpion might’ve become the cowboy running around, giving a loud “Yeehaw” instead of the original catchphrase. Maybe people would’ve given him a new alias, ‘Wonder Man’.
Mortal Kombat Would’ve Seen an Entirely Different Character

Avengers 5 was originally titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, the movie lost that shortly after Marvel Studios decided to take the focus off Kang the Conqueror (a reaction to Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's mixed reviews and Jonathan Majors' firing).
While there have been some pretty reliable Doctor Doom rumours, a new actor is expected to play a Kang Variant who serves as the Multiverse Saga's main threat. Meanwhile, Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron is overhauling Avengers 5's script after Jeff Loveness first took a crack at it.
He was supposedly fired from the project shortly after the Ant-Man threequel flopped, while Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton left the movie to focus on Wonder Man and the Shang-Chi sequel.
Scooper @MyTimeToShineH has shared an update on Avengers 5 today, claiming that pre-production begins next month.

Giancarlo Esposito recently confirmed that he had joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe... but not as the character he's been campaigning to play over the past few months, Charles Xavier.
During Ccxp back in May (via Collider), Esposito revealed that he will be appearing in a Marvel Studios project, but declined to reveal any more details. The actor did say that we'd find out "sooner rather than later," and the role is "better than you can imagine."
There was some speculation that Esposito might show up in the cameo-filled Deadpool and Wolverine, but according to Mttsh, he will be making his MCU debut in an upcoming Disney+ series.
Does this narrow down the character possibilities? Not really, since we have Agatha All Along, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again, and the recently announced Vision series all on the horizon, as well as more Marvel Spotlight presentations such as Wonder Man.

With Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Daniel Destin Cretton no longer attached to Avengers 5, he's been able to focus on Disney+'s upcoming Wonder Man series.
While the show has never been "officially" announced by Marvel Studios, we have a new update from Variety. In a piece addressing the decision to bring back the "Marvel Television" label to better differentiate big and small screen stories, the trade confirms that Wonder Man will fall under the "Marvel Spotlight" banner Echo debuted with in January.
That's meant for one-off, character-driven TV shows which can serve as standalone projects with fewer connections to the wider MCU. However, with Echo, that decision seems to have been made relatively last-minute seeing as it set the stage for Daredevil: Born Again.

Marvel has been coming up with a lot of new strategies to fix the mistakes they have made these past few years. One of the most creative solutions has to be the concept of Marvel Spotlight. Many fans were upset with how every single project in Marvel had a level of continuity to another, which made casual watching impossible.

How much Marvel is too much? That question has hung over the MCU for more than five years, since Avengers: Endgame gave viewers an easy jumping off point. In that time, Marvel has released 25 movies, TV series, and specials, few of them pleasing all but the most committed fans.
It’s no surprise that, since he came back as Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger has talked several times about reducing MCU output. He hasn’t offered much in the way of specifics until now, but that still raises questions about the franchise’s future success.

George R.R. Martin is known for his A Song of Ice and Fire book series, which would become the legendary HBO series Game of Thrones. The writer has been in the business for decades and has contributed his storytelling to multiple franchises, including the Wild Card anthology series of novels as well as the Elden Ring games.
Martin’s writing in Game of Thrones is known for its merciless killing of fan-favorite characters. Fans at the time were surprised by an important death in each season and many times the arcs of these characters were not even complete before their demise. George R.R. Martin was not fond of the toxic fanbase of his work, Game of Thrones, which became a TV sensation. Martin revealed that they would send all kinds of threatening messages, especially after the poor reception of the eighth season. It made Martin remember the good old days when he was a superfan of Marvel. He revealed that he didn’t resort to hatemail when he didn’t like The Incredible Hulk show that ran on TV or the Captain America home movies.

What Happened To The MCU?
This… well, this used to be one of the most reliable franchises in Hollywood, and now it’s not.
Let us explain.
For over a decade, it felt like the Marvel Cinematic Universe was on top of the world. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and his rotating crew of filmmakers churned out one hit after another, with each new movie in the MCU guaranteed to be one of the biggest of the year.
So what went wrong?
After what might be the most significant event in cinema history — Avengers: Endgame — the Marvel Cinematic Universe was primed for a reset. Many of the old characters were out, passing the baton to some new faces.

Wanda’s journey in the MCU has been complex. She began as a villain, transitioned into a hero, faced tragedy, experienced loss, briefly returned to villainy, and then reclaimed a heroic mantle by destroying the Darkhold and seemingly sacrificing herself.
The conclusion of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ left her fate uncertain. Official statements haven’t clarified whether Wanda is still alive within the MCU.
Many fans, myself included, think that mere collapsing debris wouldn’t pose a significant threat to a Nexus being with such vast Multiversal potential. After all, we’ve seen Wanda endure far worse, so her return seems likely. Lately, there have been rumors suggesting she might get her own standalone movie. Even if that doesn’t materialize, there are several projects where her return would make perfect sense.

Wanda was never just a character in the MCU. She started out a villain, became a hero, became a hero with a tragic backstory, lost everything, and circled back to being a villain until eventually becoming sort of a hero again by destroying Darkhold and supposedly taking her own life.
Now even the ending of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ was pretty open-ended, and the official statements on the matter really did nothing to answer the question – is Wanda still alive within the MCU?

When the character Riri Williams (played by Dominique Thorne) made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut back in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the idea was that we’d be seeing the character again the following year in her own Disney+ show Ironheart… but 2023 came and went without Ironheart, and the show still doesn’t have an official premiere date. This has caused some fans to speculate that Marvel and Disney+ might have decided to scrap Ironheart, along with the series Wonder Man, which had Yahya Abdul-Mateen II taking on the role of the title character, who is also known as Simon Williams and hasn’t been seen in the MCU yet. Sometimes, you have too many irons in the fire and must take one out and let it cool. According to Deadline, Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton is no longer helming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty for Marvel Studios. Deadline says they hear Cretton’s exit is amicable, with the in-demand filmmaker remaining in the Marvel family for Wonder Man and Shang-Chi 2. Thankfully, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is years away from hitting theaters, giving Marvel ample time to reassign the Infinity War-level project to another director. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty releases on May 1, 2026, setting up Avengers: Secret Wars for May 7, 2027. The two event-driven films end the MCU’s Phase 6 timeline.
Cretton remains a creative force on Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man, which he co-created with Andrew Guest, who serves as showrunner. Cretton executive produces Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man. Filming for the Disney+ series falls under...

‘Thor: Love & Thunder’ marks the latest addition to the ‘Thor’ film series, showcasing Thor’s comeback post-‘Endgame’ alongside a diverse cast of characters, including a well-known comic villain. Despite its anticipation, the movie fell short of expectations due to awkward humor and an underutilized storyline.
However, a standout element emerged with Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor, whose poignant journey battling Gorr the God Butcher took a tragic turn, culminating in her death and entrance into Valhalla. Now, reliable leaker and The Cosmic Circus writer Alex P. hints at Jane’s potential return on X.
And in Valhalla, the Einherjar will feast, revel and train as they are called upon for the end of days. https://t.co/c6qARneJC5

‘Thor: Love & Thunder’ is the latest installment in the ‘Thor’ movie series. Despite the movie featuring the grand return of Thor following ‘Endgame’ and a grand cast of characters, including a fairly-known villain from the comics, the movie wasn’t as successful as it was hoped, mostly due to its cringy humor and waste of a potentially magnificent storyline.
Still, one good thing came out of the movie, and that was Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor. As a reminder, Jane is sick with cancer, and in a last-ditch attempt to save her life, she starts wielding Mjolnir but gets more than she bargained for as she goes on on an epic adventure with Thor battling against Gorr the God Butcher, who has beef to settle with pretty much every god in the universe. But, the movie doesn’t have a cheery ending as its overall atmosphere seems to be,...

One of the highly anticipated projects in the MCU that had fans buzzing was ‘Wonder Man.’ It’s a Hollywood satire with Williams portraying an actor-turned-superhero in Tinseltown. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is set to star as Simon Williams (Wonder Man), alongside Ben Kingsley, Demetrius Grosse, and Ed Harris. However, recent rumors, sparked by Joanna Robinson on ‘The Watch’ podcast suggest that ‘Wonder Man’ is on the verge of cancellation.
This isn’t entirely surprising, given that many MCU projects are at risk of significant reworking. The most recent shock came with the announcement that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ would undergo major changes because the studio deemed the original concept dull. Instead of sticking to the comic material, the writers are shifting towards a procedural legal drama, focusing on Matt as he takes on a group of rogue policemen.
As for ‘Wonder Man,’ details about the project were scarce, and Joanna claimed...

But the recent rumors started by Joanna Robinson on the podcast ‘The Watch’ claim that ‘Wonder Man’ is all but canceled.
This isn’t as surprising considering that many MCU projects are in danger of at least being significantly reworked. The latest shock came when the studio announced that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ would undergo major overhauls because the studio found the original concept of the soft reboot boring. Instead of honoring the comic material, the writers were going more in the direction of procedural legal drama, focusing on Matt as he tries to take on a group of rouge policemen.

This Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 article contains spoilers.
“The Legendary Star-Lord Will Return.” With that declaration, viewers of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 breathed a sigh of relief. We went into the final movie in James Gunn‘s Marvel trilogy, his final MCU film before co-heading DC Studios for Warner Bros, expecting a few deaths. And yet, despite some close calls, all of the Guardians survive the ordeal, even if the band breaks up in the end, with Peter returning to Earth, Gamora rejoining the Ravagers, and Drax and Nebula staying on Knowhere.
In the movie’s first post-credit scene, we get a glimpse at Guardians 2.0, led by Rocket and featuring new recruits Phyla-Vell and Adam Warlock alongside old hands Kraglin and Groot, suggesting that the MCU is not quite done with the team of galactic misfits. But as of this writing, there are no official plans...

This post contains spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and potential spoilers for Loki season 2.
Loki’s coming back for a second season this October, and he’s bringing one of the weirdest Marvel characters with him. No, I’m not talking about sub-z-list Thor villain Zaniac, whose name appears on a marquee in the trailer. I’m talking about Victor Timely, the variant of Kang the Conquerer revealed in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and featured in the trailer for Loki season two.
We knew that Kang would be a concern for Loki‘s second season after Loki and his variant Sylvie confronted He Who Remains in the season 1 finale. By killing He Who Remains, Sylvie not only allowed the Multiverse to grow unchecked — leading to this next set of MCU movies being dubbed “The Multiverse Saga” — but she also opened the way for more dangerous Variants of He Who Remains.

Jenna Fischer had an unexpected influence on getting her Office co-star one of his most prominent movie roles. And it was all thanks to Fischer’s close connection with current Dcu head James Gunn.

Fischer and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn enjoyed a long six-year marriage together before their divorce in 2007.
Although their marriage didn’t last, Fischer and Gunn remained on pleasant terms afterwards. Fischer would continue her acting success on the popular comedy series The Office. Meanwhile, Gunn would reach greater heights as a filmmaker.
Fischer’s connection with Gunn came in handy for one Office co-star when the director was looking for a lead in the superhero flick Super. Super was Gunn’s 2010 movie about a superhero without any powers operating in a very realistic world. But Gunn...

Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley (Wonder Man) and Sofia Boutella (Rebel Moon) are set to star opposite Dave Bautista in The Killer’s Game, the action comedy that JJ Perry is helming for Lionsgate, which heads into production this summer. Their roles are being kept under wraps.
Based on Jay Bonansinga’s novel, The Killer’s Game is written by Rand Ravich and Simon Kinberg (X-Men series), with recent rewrites by James Coyne. The film follows veteran assassin Joe Flood (Bautista), who is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and authorizes a kill on himself to avoid the pain that is destined to follow. After ordering the kill, he finds out that he was misdiagnosed and must then fend off the army of former colleagues trying to kill him.
Mad Chance’s Andrew Lazar will produce alongside Steve Richards for Endurance Media, which is financing the project, as well as Kia Jam. Bautista...

This Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 article contains spoilers.
One of the biggest thrills in a new James Gunn movie is seeing how he uses his stock company of players. Since his earliest days in the business, Gunn has loved bringing back actors from his other projects, making his brother Sean cameo as Calendar Man in The Suicide Squad, getting Nathan Fillion from his first feature Slither to play Simon Williams aka Wonder Man in unused artwork for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and even sneaking Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman into a big budget Disney movie for the first and third Guardians films.
But while Guardians Vol. 3 finally saw Fillion get a bigger part, and the move also brought back Old 97’s frontman Rhett Miller from the Christmas Special for a couple of shots, the most unlikely cameo involved a relative newcomer to the cast of Gunn players.

When it comes to cameos in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the franchise overlord put the “awesome” in Awesome Mix. We blasted off into the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s cosmos for what’s supposed to be a final hurrah for the team first assembled in 2014, and it was a who’s who of returning favorites and new faces in this new offering.
As with any MCU outing, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was stuffed to bursting with Easter eggs and cameos. Alongside the welcome return of Sylvester Stallone’s Stakar Ogord and Seth Green’s Howard the Duck, there’s even a role for Gunn’s wife and Peacemaker star, Jennifer Holland. Still, there’s a sense that Marvel ultimately wasted one actor that really could’ve had major potential.

During a tumultuous time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the third and final film in James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy will (hopefully) arrive to save the day in a satisfying way. Our favorite band of A-holes are heading back to the big screen at the beginning of May for a new adventure together. Some lucky people have already seen the movie, thanks to the movie’s “European Gala” held at Disneyland Paris earlier this month, as well as the US screenings this week for critics. As you might expect, we now have plenty of thoughts about Gunn’s (presumably) final Marvel movie.
But first, a refresher on what’s going on in this one: in the upcoming Phase 5 threequel, the Guardians have pretty much settled down on Knowhere after the events of the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, but when Rocket’s past resurfaces, Peter Quill...
