Jessica Pratt has released the buoyantly dreamy “World on a String” (and no, it’s not a Neil Young cover).
The track is delicately acoustic, yet it harks back to Sixties sunshine pop in melody. “I want to be the sunlight of the century,” she sings. “I want to be a vestige of our senses free.”
“On this track, I was influenced by the swaying, naive brilliance of ‘lost’ teenage garage rock bands, as well as enduring loves like the Nazz and Guided By Voices,” Pratt said in a statement.

Hot off the heels of ‘Dune: Part Two’ success, Ferguson is set to team up with Chris Pratt in a new thriller titled ‘Mercy.’ This Amazon MGM Studios production promises to be a gripping sci-fi tale set in a future where crime rates have skyrocketed.
In ‘Mercy,’ Pratt plays a detective caught up in a whirlwind of accusations over a violent crime. The challenge? He must clear his name. The storyline teases a suspense-filled journey, something we’re all looking forward to. Directed by Timur Bekmambetov, known for the 2016 remake of ‘Ben-Hur,’ and penned by Marco van Belle, the project has a mixed team behind it (‘Ben-Hur’ was pretty bad). Still, with Charles Roven, a name recently nominated for an Oscar for ‘Oppenheimer,’ leading the production, expectations are high.

The Reacher star said he came close to playing Thor, god of thunder, before Marvel eventually handed the role to Chris Hemsworth.
“I didn’t take it seriously,” Ritchson said of his MCU audition in a new Men’s Health cover story. “I was like, ‘They’ll throw me the part if I look like the guy; nobody really cares about acting.'”
Following his audition, though, the Marvel casting team told Ritchson he hadn’t shown he had “the craft,” and the part eventually went to Hemsworth. Thor first appeared in the character’s titular 2011 film and has been featured in eight Marvel films since then.
The loss plagued Ritchson, who rededicated himself to acting lessons following the defeat.
Several years later, he also lost out on the role of Finnick Odair in 2013’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire...

Since the Dcu is still in its development stage at the moment, there are a lot of decisions to be taken for the future of the franchise. Thus, DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran are still in the process of hiring new stars that will become crucial parts of the entire narrative going forward, which has led to a lot of speculations being put to the test.
James Gunn and Margot Robbie on the sets of The Suicide Squad
Among the many rumors that were being churned out, there was one that stated Booster Gold, a character from the pages of DC Comics might become part of the franchise’s events, which has not only been confirmed but has also been successfully assigned to a star. If Gunn’s early claims are true, many people believe that the actor that the role went to was none other than Chris Pratt.

Kenneth Mitchell, known for his portrayal of several characters in Star Trek: Discovery as well as roles in Captain Marvel and Jericho, has died. He was 49.
Mitchell died Saturday in Los Angeles from complications of Als, his family told The Hollywood Reporter.
“Kenny was the keeper of countless enduring friendships,” they said. “Like a massive star exploding with kindness, pureness and a particular brand of silly, you were pulled right into his orbit. Once captured, Kenny could bathe you in positivity, compassion, thoughtfulness, and hilarity, and make you feel so loved.”
Mitchell played four characters across three seasons of Paramount’s Star Trek: Discovery: Kol, Kol-Sha, Tenavik and Aurellio. He also portrayed a young Captain Marvel’s father in a flashback in Marvel’s Captain Marvel and World War II flyer Deke Slayton in ABC’s The Astronaut Wives Club.

This weekend, the biggest sporting event on the Stateside calendar, the Super Bowl, went down between the San Francisco 49ers and the Taylor Swiftie… Sorry (checks notes), Kansas City Chiefs. And with a massive guaranteed TV audience, that naturally meant companies shelling out not just $7 million for 30 seconds of precious airtime, but millions more to secure celebrity faces and guarantee viewers/clicks. As is usual these days, most of the ads went up days before the event itself, or the spots linked to longer versions online. Here is a roundup of our favourites…

Retired Australian tennis player Nicole Pratt has lavished praise on Coco Gauff for her eloquence during Wta's 50th-anniversary celebrations in September.
Gauff, one of the only recognizable members from the current roster who attended that night, was given the stage to deliver a speech. The 19-year-old kept her composure and displayed maturity beyond her years, as Pratt said during an episode of the Ao Show podcast.
Gauff appreciated the blueprint laid out by her predecessors, including Wta trailblazer Billie Jean King and seven-time Grand Slam singles champion Venus Williams, who have used their voice to ensure women are respected and rewarded just like male players.
The young American sensation also mentioned her childhood idol, Serena Williams, who set the pathway for her to realize her dream. Reflecting on Gauff's speech, Pratt was left in awe and opined that the Atlanta native is shaping to be a great role model for young women.

The new series of Quantum Leap has brought in many elements from the original show. The returns of Beth (Susan Diol) and one-time leapee Magic (Ernie Hudson), name-checking the Evil Leapers, addressing the question of whether Sam (Scott Bakula) ever made it home, and many more. But two seasons in a major part of Quantum Leap lore has failed to be even hinted at.
Sam’s daughter. Sammy Jo.
Introduced as part of the “Trilogy” series of episodes in 1992 in the original Quantum Leap’s fifth and final season, Sammy Jo’s origin is complicated. The three episodes follow Sam as he leaps into different people attempting to help a woman named Abigail Fuller, who in each leap is accused of murder. Sam first meets her as a young girl in “Trilogy Part 1” when he leaps into her father, saving her from being killed.

Having been in the pop cultural consciousness since 1978, lasagne-loving cat Garfield has been through some of the usual stages of popular source material: animated TV shows and specials, a couple of less-than-loved live-action/CG films and a mountain of merchandising spun off from Jim Davis' original comic strips and books. Now, of course, we've reached the inevitable CG animated film version, with Chris Pratt as the voice of the title character. The first trailer for The Garfield Movie is online. Take a look:
Of course, releasing the trailer on a Monday feels like a cardinal sin for a cat whose major catchphrases include "I hate Mondays". Still more people might want to complain about the fact that Pratt's voice for the character mostly feels like him playing himself.

A lasagna-loving feline is returning to the big screen next year. Sony Pictures released The Garfield Movie trailer Monday, giving fans their first look at Chris Pratt’s version of the beloved orange feline. The trailer begins with a hungry, wide-eyed young Garfield stumbling across a man sitting by himself in a pizza parlor. When the man invites him in, they end up sharing a bite of pizza — and if you know Garfield, you know it didn’t end there. The one bite leads to a montage of Garfield devouring the rest of the pie,...

Chris Pratt has traded in his plumber uniform for something with a little more fur in the first trailer for Columbia Pictures and Alcon Entertainment’s The Garfield Movie.
The famous lasagna-loving cat is back with Pratt as the man behind the whiskers in this nearly three-minute look (below) at the movie based on Jim Davis’ famous Garfield comic series.
The film sees Garfield, “the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat,” setting out on a wild, outdoor adventure following an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father, a scruffy street cat named Vic who’s voiced by Samuel L. Jackson. With his canine friend Odie at his side, Garfield is forced from his perfectly pampered life into joining his father for a comedic, high-stakes heist.
The trailer teases a tail of an abandoned kitten fighting to survive on the streets until he sees Jon Arbuckle, a lonely man eating a pizza, through a restaurant window.

Sony Pictures Animation just dropped a trailer for their upcoming film, ‘The Garfield Movie,’ and it’s catching everyone’s attention. Chris Pratt, known for his role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ brings life to the iconic, lasagna-loving cat. The trailer hints at a unique story, showing how Garfield and his owner Jon Arbuckle meet, wrapped in a theme reminiscent of ‘The Peanuts Movie.’
What’s really exciting is the twist in the story. The movie promises a high-stakes heist, which is a departure from the usual Garfield antics. According to the studio’s synopsis, Garfield, after reuniting with his long-lost father Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson), gets dragged into a thrilling adventure. He’s not alone, though; his pal Odie joins in on the action too.

Chris Pratt embodies the world’s most sarcastic yet endearing orange feline in the trailer for “The Garfield Movie,” premiering in theaters on May 24, 2024.
The new animated feature introduces new characters to comic creator Jim Davis’ universe, including Samuel L. Jackson as Vic, Garfield’s father. Both Pratt and Jackson have been honing their voice acting chops, with Jackson playing another animated cat in “Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank” and Pratt portraying Mario in “The Super Mario Bros. In the trailer for “The Garfield Movie,” Pratt’s lovable fat cat explains how he adopted his owner, John. Before he dives into a tray of lasagna, he warns the audience, “I apologize in advance. It's been 20 years since "The O.C." debuted on Fox, but it's still hard to see past Seth Cohen when Adam Brody shows up in a movie or TV show. It shouldn't be, because he's a terrific actor, but there's something about his still-fresh-faced persona that immediately harkens back to his time as America's favorite nerd-turned-awkwardly-popular-kid on the millennials' slightly savvier version of "Beverly Hills 90210."
Recently, Brody took his typecasting head-on with Evan Morgan's "The Kid Detective," an underrated and frustratingly underseen comedy about an Encyclopedia Brown-type wunderkind who's grown up to be a hard-drinking-and-drugging failure of a detective. His character has never made good on his early promise, but suddenly a murder case falls in his lap, and he has the opportunity to break free of his boy-wonder shackles.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” could have looked a lot different if things had gone another direction when it came to casting.
Recently, Adam Brody sat down for a chat with the “Just for Variety” podcast, and opened up about the time he read for the role of Peter Quill — a.k.a. Star-Lord — in James Gunn’s cosmic adventure installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I wanted that one,” Brody said of the role, which eventually went to Chris Pratt, whom the “O.C.” alum admitted was a “better fit” for the part, ultimately.
“He is bigger, stronger, but tonally, I really dug it,” Brody lamented.
Pratt starred as the space-faring smuggler and thief who stole fans’ hearts when the first film hit theaters in 2014.

Somewhere in the multiverse, Adam Brody is Star-Lord. The actor revealed in a recent interview that he auditioned for the role in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, directed by James Gunn, but it eventually went to Chris Pratt.
I wanted that one,” Brody admitted to Variety, confirming that Pratt was a “better” fit. “He is bigger, stronger,” Brody said. “But tonally, I really dug it.”
Pratt went on to play the role in two sequels, including this year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, as well as elsewhere in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Note: Light spoilers ahead for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” may mark the end of the Guardians as we know them, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t continuing on. In fact, the film’s post-credits tag makes it explicitly clear that “The Legendary Star-Lord Will Return.” Now, you might be wondering if the word “legendary” signifies something important, or maybe someone new — and those instincts would be right.
The good news is “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” doesn’t actually kill off any of the Guardians, as many expected it to. There were a few scares between Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), but ultimately, they all survived. That said, they did kind of break up.
The end of the film sees the original Guardians go in several different directions. Peter heads back to Earth to find his...

2Nd Update: In an Instagram post Tuesday evening, former Everwood co-star Chris Pratt mourned both Treat Williams, who died Monday, and fellow former cast member John Beasley, who died two weeks ago.
“It’s an incredibly sad season for the cast and crew of Everwood. We’re still reeling from the loss of John Beasley and yesterday we lost Treat Williams as well,” Pratt said. “Both men were exceptional actors, wonderful husbands, fathers and friends. They will be missed tremendously.”
Update: Everwood creator Greg Berlanti has shared a remembrance of his first meeting with Treat Williams following the veteran actor’s death Monday in a motorcycle accident in Vermont. Berlanti posted a tribute on Instagram next to a photo of Williams with Berlanti’s sister. “I can still feel the warmth of your presence,” Berlanti wrote.
“I remember our first lunch like it was yesterday. Myself and my fellow producer...

The first reactions for the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are in following its first screening this past weekend at Disneyland Paris. They’re looking like the trilogy capper may be one of the best in the entire universe…well, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The reactions look to place the third Guardians of the Galaxy not just as the best in the trilogy but next to 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, which is generally considered one of–if not the–best Marvel movies.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is a brilliant end to a brilliant trilogy. It's very funny, emotional and everybody gets their stand-out moment. Will Poulter's Warlock is a terrific addition, yet the focus is rightly on telling a satisfying end for the Guardians. Gonna miss them. pic.twitter.com/ot6L67Q9Cf
