The duo are pointed in the direction of Gacha’s old properties in Pacho, Colombia, by Escobar’s former hitman Popeye. Sources claim Gacha buried millions of dollars there during the height of the Medellin Cartel’s operations in the 1970s and 80s. On this week’s Finding Escobar’s Millions, former CIA operatives Doug Laux and Ben Smith investigate a hidden underground tunnel that was used by drug traffickers including Pablo Escobar. In our exclusive clip, Smith explains how the tunnel was a relic of the Spanish rule in Colombia, built for battle before winding up being used centuries later for smuggling narcotics. Its original purpose was to link two bunkers so that the Spanish could fire at ships coming into the nearby port from either direction. The tunnel held up and turned out to be really useful for narco-trafficking back in the glory days of...read more...

Former cartel drug and money runner Mickey Munday reveals on tonight’s Finding Escobar’s Millions how he sprayed liquid cocaine on to “hundreds of millions of dollars”, mostly $100 bills. Munday — the “get” for former CIA operatives Doug Laux and Ben Smith on tonight’s truth-is-stranger-than-fiction edition of the Discovery show — explains he did it because he wanted “everybody” to test positive for cocaine. Speaking to Laux and Smith over some tequila, he tells them: “I would take the money to my hangar, bust it out and spread it all over the floor of the hangar. “I would put plastic bags...read more...

Tonight on Finding Escobar’s Millions, we head to the “hot place” — the ground central location where Colombian and American forces worked together to fight Pablo Escobar and his Medellin cocaine cartel. The two countries’ law enforcement personnel joined forces to combat the growing political power Escobar wielded in the region. Interspersed in a series of flashback photos, former CIA operatives Doug Laux and Ben Smith interview former DEA special agent Joe Toft, who was in charge of the Bogota office. Earlier this summer, I won tickets to HUSHfest, one of a series of silent dance concerts at the end of the Santa Monica Pier. The setting was spectacular: 30 feet above the Pacific Ocean and 500 yards beyond the edge of the continent, surrounded by waves, a cooling breeze, and a perfect pastel sunset behind Malibu’s oceanside hills.
I strapped on wireless headphones, chose between two audio channels streaming music from different DJs, and began to move my body. Given the setting, the chance to dance in it and a soundtrack of awesome deep tracks of obscure world music, it was a pretty sweet night. Until I took the headphones off.

By applying its viral content strategy to video productions, BuzzFeed has turned its Motion Pictures wing into a major part of its profile. After spending the first six-or-so years of its existence establishing itself as a forward-thinking source for news, listicles, and other written content, BuzzFeed surpassed a billion video views per month back in 2015. For many of its fans, it is now a video platform first and a news publication second.

The days of free video are over at Hulu. The streaming service, home to both broadcast network series like Scandal and Brooklyn Nine-Nine and original series like The Path and Casual, is eliminating its free offering and going full-time subscription, this according to Variety. The company plans to wind down the no cost version in the weeks ahead. “As we have continued to enhance that offering with new originals, exclusive acquisitions, and movies, the free service became very limited and no longer aligned with the Hulu experience or content strategy,” Hulu senior VP Ben Smith said in a statement. This shift shouldn’t come as a huge surprise considering how few titles were available on Hulu without a subscription. Furthermore, the free version wasn’t available on services like Roku or on mobile platforms. Hulu currently offers two pricing packages - $7.99/month with limited commercials and $11.99/month for the commercial-free option.

Riz Ahmed, star of Four Lions and the Jake Gyllenhaal-led thriller Nightcrawler, is teetering on the edge of stardom. In 2016, he’ll join Gareth Edwards for a trip to a galaxy far, far away for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first installment in Disney’s high-profile Anthology series set adjacent to the core trilogy. It’s a remarkable coup for the actor and next year is certainly going to catapult him into the limelight now that Variety has confirmed that Ahmed will join the burgeoning cast of Paul Greengrass’ Bourne 5.
Starring opposite The Man From U.N.C.L.E.‘s Alicia Vikander, Tommy Lee Jones, Vincent Cassell, Julia Stiles and of course, Matt Damon, Ahmed has landed a “key role” in the starry action sequel, assuming the part of a CIA specialist. What remains unclear, however, is whether he will help or hinder Jason Bourne’s globe-trotting adventure when it arrives in theaters next year.

This has also impacted the film's locations it seems as Damon added:
