Sophie was born in London and still lives there with her four sisters,
menagerie of animals and her parents.
She was 'discovered' in 2000 when she was 7 years old by a casting
agent who visited her school and observed her class. After a number of
auditions she was selected early in 2001 by Stephen Daldry for the part
of Angelica Bell in
The Hours (2002).
The following year she auditioned for
Peter Pan (2003) and was flown to
Australia in November along with another girl, both competing for the
role of Jane, grown-up Wendy's daughter. PJ Hogan chose Sophie and she
filmed for ten days. Although the scene was deleted from the final film
when it was released she appeared on the DVD under 'deleted scenes'.
Since then Sophie has auditioned for a range of films - Love Actually,
Nanny McFee, Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe amongst others and
continues to fulfill her love of drama and literature at school.
