Star Wars is still a cherished part of many people’s childhoods. Beyond the nostalgia, its sheer coolness and grandeur make it perfect for the theaters. However, it’s no secret that the Star Wars universe is expansive, with a plethora of spin-offs and sequels, which amounts to a $10 billion franchise.

It’s remarkable to think that the franchise remains relevant with new movies still coming out to this day. Nevertheless, it’s only natural that, despite its popularity, Star Wars has had its occasional oopsie-daisy moments. One such instance is The Phantom Menace, which even George Lucas, the creator of the universe, admits to being a bit “disjointed.”

Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace celebrates a major milestone this year, and fans will never forget how the movie created a divisive opinion among its viewers, particularly on the matter of Jar Jar Binks.
Jar Jar Binks
The character was beloved by some and hated by many, and this remains a mystery among the cast and crew. Fans did not like the figure because of his clownish behavior and was too cartoonish for the movie.
Star Wars Actor Liam Neeson Reacted To Jar Jar Binks Issue
In an interview with Empire, Liam Neeson recalled how much he loved working with Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best. He admitted feeling offended after the surge of backlash on the character and the actor.

Playing families on screen is a challenge for any actors. Finding the chemistry between siblings, parents and their kids, and even spouses can be a matter of finding the right combination of talent and connection. Over the years, parents and their children have portrayed fictional dynamics similar to their own, notably Paper Moon starring Ryan and Tatum O’Neal. There are a lot fewer of these movies than you might think. Luckily, rising star Clara McGregor envisioned a film that echoed her relationship with her father, Ewan McGregor, and the actor was more than willing to step in as the dad on screen as well. The result, Bleeding Love, is a wonderful road trip film that takes the familiar tropes of the genre and adds to it.
Bleeding Love tells the story of an unnamed Daughter (Clara McGregor) being driven across the American Southwest by her Father (Ewan McGregor) after she recently overdosed.

Being a girl dad has its problems, especially when your daughter thinks you’re a prick. As “Bleeding Love” begins, a teenage girl shoots a jaundiced look at her father who is driving her somewhere in the desolate West. She can’t hear him because her headphones are blaring “I’m Yer Dad,” a not even remotely subtle noise pop song by Grlwood that includes the lyric, “Feed me food while I watch sports / In my man cave made for sports / Whores in my porn, porn in my sports … ’Cause I’m your dad.”
Dad studies her without comprehension. She is his daughter, but she is an undiscovered country to him. He vacated his fatherly duties during his booze years, and now he must deal with an estranged beautiful daughter whose heart stopped beating last night during an overdose. He pulls his pickup to the side of the road so she can pee,...

Since the launch of Disney+ back in 2019, the streaming service has proven to be an embarrassment of riches for “Star Wars” fans.
In addition to housing all the movies in the franchise, Disney+ has also introduced several spin-offs, including “The Mandalorian” (which returns with its third season next month), “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, “Boba Fett” and “Andor”, in addition to several animated “Star Wars” series.
Meanwhile, Disney+ recently announced that two more live-action “Star Wars” series are set to debut later this year, “Ahsoka”, with Rosario Dawson in the title role, and “Skeleton Crew”, starring Jude Law.

Liam Neeson has ruled out a return to the Star Wars franchise, criticising its many recent spin-offs.
Neeson famously played Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn in 1999’s prequel trilogy opener, Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
Appearing alongside Paul Rudd on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday (16 February), Neeson was asked by a fan whether he’s interested in reprising his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi’s mentor.
“No, I’m not,” Neeson responded.
“There’s so many spin-offs of Star Wars. It’s diluting it to me, and it’s taken away the mystery and the magic in a weird way.”
“It was nice to do the little bit with Ewan [McGregor],” the actor stipulated about his short cameo in McGregor’s Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Liam Neeson thinks there’s a disturbance in the Force thanks in part to the rapid expansion of the Star Wars Universe. On Watch What Happens Live on Thursday, Neeson said he wants to avoid starring in his own spin-off series because the glut of Star Wars projects is diminishing the franchise.
“No, I’m not,” Neeson said about returning to the Star Wars Universe for a spin-off on Disney+. “There’s so many spin-offs of Star Wars. It’s diluting it to me, and it’s taken away the mystery and the magic in a weird way.”
Star Wars fans will be quick to point out that Neeson made a cameo appearance as his character Qui-Gon Jinn in Disney’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series, though Neeson says it was just a bit of fun. During the interview, he said it was “nice to do the little bit with Ewan [McGregor]” in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

I wondered what might happen when the brilliant artisans of BBC One’s The Repair Shop were confronted with a slightly weary but classic piece of mid-20th-century British craftsmanship, foxed round the edges, slightly stooped, the hands strangely bloated, and the head desperately clinging onto the few strands of the hair still remaining. Yet this unique national treasure, with all of his famous provenance, finds himself in good care. Yes, His Majesty King Charles III, now approaching his 74th year and never seriously refurbished despite some rough treatment, is handled with chummy deference by the programme’s stars, presenter Jay Blades, ceramics expert Kirsten Ramsay, horologist Steve Fletcher, and furniture restorer Will Kirk. And equal solicitude is applied, to the obvious delight of the then Prince of Wales, to the bric-a-brac he’s asked them to do up.

A quarter century after making his screen acting debut as a guest star on “The Rockford Files,” 60-year-old James Cromwell received his first Emmy nomination for his supporting turn in the 1999 TV movie “Rko 281.” In the time since, he has racked up a win for “American Horror Story: Asylum” and four guest acting bids, including two for special appearances on “Succession.” To date, the dependable actor has embodied central character Logan Roy’s older brother, Ewan, in five episodes across the HBO drama’s three seasons.
Cromwell received his first “Succession” bid at 80 and thus became the 12th oldest Best Drama Guest Actor nominee ever. Two years later, his second nomination for the show allowed him to move to 10th place on the list. All but one of the nine older actors in the ranking joined after the turn of the century, with two being among the very few nonagenarian contenders in Emmys history.

Ewan McGregor is having quite the year. After his Emmy-winning performance in Netflix's "Halston" and the immense success of his return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Disney+ limited series, the "Star Wars" legend will be next seen in an adaptation of a beloved novel.
"A Gentleman In Moscow," the bestselling story from American author Amor Towles (who also wrote "Rules of Civility" and "The Lincoln Highway"), is getting the adaptation treatment (via Variety). The book has sold over a million copies and has been translated into 30 languages since its publication in 2016, and a series based on Towles' novel will be streaming on Paramount+ soon. If you haven't read it yet — now's probably a good time. It's a moving story about luck, second chances, and how the most mundane-seeming decisions and interactions with people can change the course of your life. “I’m not an uncomplicated man,” confesses James Cromwell’s character Ewan Roy in the third season of HBO’s “Succession.” The veteran actor certainly brings complexity to his performance on the acclaimed drama series, and for his work he just secured his second nomination for the role. His 2022 bid for Drama Guest Actor marks his sixth overall Emmy citation; he previously won in 2013 for “American Horror Story: Asylum.”
Unlike his first time competing for “Succession,” Cromwell faces off against three other cast mates in the category this year. In addition to Adrien Brody, Arian Moayed, and past winner Alexander Skarsgård, first-time nominees Colman Domingo (“Euphoria”) and Tom Pelphrey (“Ozark”) round out the race. Back in 2020, when Cromwell was first nominated for “Succession,” he faced no internal competition but lost to repeat champ Ron Cephas Jones (“This Is Us”).

In the third season of HBO’s “Succession,” Nicholas Braun’s character “Cousin” Greg Hirsch finds himself stuck between a rock and a hard place, switching allegiances between Jeremy Strong’s Kendall Roy and Brian Cox’s patriarch Logan. The actor describes his character as “thrown around all season” and put through the wringer, and for his portrayal of the troubled Greg he just received his second Emmy nomination, recognition he calls “awesome” and “exciting.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.

John Boyega may not be returning to “Star Wars” as Finn any time soon, but that doesn’t mean he’s not plugged into the new Disney+ shows that are happening. In fact, he was a pretty huge fan of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” — particularly Hayden Christensen’s part in it.
While at the premiere for Jordan Peele’s latest horror film “Nope,” Boyega told TheWrap that he’s been very on top of all the new series, even amidst his own busy schedule. “Of course I’ve watched them! Oh yeah, I watched them first day they came out,” he said.
Boyega added that he particularly enjoyed Disney’s latest series, “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” because it brought back Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. Boyega made it clear that Anakin may not be everyone’s favorite, but he’s definitely got a lot of love in his own heart for the character.

It was never a question of whether “Succession” would earn multiple acting nominations for its stellar third season that aired in late 2021. Rather, it was simply a matter of how many it would receive. It turns out, the answer is “enough to set a new Emmy record.” Created by Jesse Armstrong, the HBO drama about the complex relationships between the members of a wealthy and dysfunctional family who own a major media conglomerate snagged a history-making 14 acting nominations this year. Most were expected, some were not, but all were exciting.
Let’s start with the expected: Jeremy Strong, who took home the award for Best Drama Actor in 2020, received his second nomination in the category for portraying troubled middle son Kendall Roy. Following a season that pitted Kendall against his family and saw him finally confess to his siblings what happened at the end of Season 1, Strong’s nomination was all but guaranteed.

Nobody plays a curmudgeon quite like James Cromwell. The veteran actor scored an Emmy nomination two years ago for his performance as the principled Ewan Roy on HBO’s juggernaut “Succession,” and this year he returned to the series in two episodes. The past Emmy winner has a second role in contention this year, too, appearing in one episode of HBO Max’s new comedy series “Julia” as a pivotal character. Could the actor score dual guest bids this year?
Cromwell is certainly in strong position for “Succession,” currently leading our combined Emmy odds in the Drama Guest Actor category. The actor has appeared in five episodes over the show’s three seasons so far as the brother of the unscrupulous billionaire Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and bewildered grandfather of Greg (Nicholas Braun). He netted a nomination for the role in 2020 for the second season, but lost the trophy to...

The overall response to Obi-Wan Kenobi may have been positive, but there is one complaint that many fans seem to share: they want to see more. For some, that desire comes from a love of the characters, especially after showrunner Deborah Chow crafted a suitable bridge between the Star Wars prequels and the original trilogy, forcing Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan to face for the first time his former apprentice Anakin Skywalker in the form of Darth Vader, played by Hayden Christensen. For others, that desire comes from a sense that the series rushed through events, not giving viewers enough time to understand Kenobi’s dire situation.
Whatever they wanted from a continuation of Obi-Wan’s story, fans almost got more – a whole lot more. Speaking exclusively with The Direct, screenwriter Stuart Beattie revealed that Lucasfilm originally planned an entire trilogy of movies starring McGregor as Obi-Wan. “Yeah, Ewan was on board,...

Qui-Gon Jinn has returned.
Star Wars fans were floored on Wednesday when Liam Neeson made his return to a galaxy far, far away in the series finale of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+.
In the closing moments of the Star Wars miniseries, Neeson returned to the franchise for the first time since Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace (1999) as Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn (in live-action form; he also voiced the character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars). It had been teased since the premiere episode that Qui-Gon might make an appearance, but there was never any guarantee. And given how much time has passed since Neeson last played the character, it was hard to determine his interest in donning his Jedi robes one more time.
The Academy Award-nominated actor told The Hollywood Reporter that he decided to return to the franchise for a number of reasons.

This Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi article contains spoilers.
Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 6 closes another chapter in the wise Jedi Master’s life, but is this really the last we’ll see of Ewan McGregor in the Star Wars universe? The final scenes of the show certainly suggest that this is the end of the road. Obi-Wan has saved Leia, made peace with Anakin’s fate, and ended his watch over Luke until the time is right. He even reunites with his old master Qui-Gon Jinn, setting up Sir Alec Guinness’ own story arc in the Original Trilogy — Obi-Wan will learn how to become one with the Force. Soon, he will be more powerful than Darth Vader can possibly imagine.
But let’s face it: Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s ratings have been massive on Disney+, with the most watched debut in the streaming service’s history. If there’s an appetite for more Obi-Wan,...

Ewan McGregor detailed what really happened to the “Don Quixote” film he was attached to over a decade ago.
The “Obi-Wan Kenobi” star was set to replace Johnny Depp in Terry Gilliam’s long-awaited “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote” about an advertising executive who travels back in time to 17th-century Spain where he meets the real Quixote. The first attempt at the film, starring Depp, was over-budget, with Gilliam saying at the time that he was “relieved” it fell apart. Now, McGregor told GQ about the time the director Gilliam approached him in 2010 to lead the script that was 20 years in the making. (The role eventually went to Adam Driver in the finished 2018 film.)
“[Terry Gilliam says, ‘What the fuck have you been doing all this time? You’ve been underplaying everything,'” McGregor recalled. “‘What happened to the guy in ‘Trainspotting’? What happened to that guy?!'”
This was well after McGregor broke out of “Trainspotting” in 1996 and by then had starred in the “Star Wars” prequel films.

Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen’s chemistry is written in the stars, at least according to “Obi-Wan Kenobi” fans.
Decades after the duo first appeared side-by-side as Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker, respectively, in the “Star Wars” prequel films, McGregor and Christensen reunited for the Disney+ series, set 10 years after the events of “Revenge of the Sith.”
“There’s a lot of homoerotic Obi-Wan/Hayden fan art that gets sent to me now and again,” McGregor revealed to GQ. “I don’t know how it finds me. It’s always a bit of an eyeopener.”
McGregor continued: “You open the envelope, you think you’re going to have to sign something, and you’re like, ‘Fucking hell!'”
The Disney+ series, currently streaming, marked both McGregor and Christensen’s returns to the franchise. Christensen previously gushed that even the crew were “proper ‘Star Wars’ fans,” which made the series so special.
