- Mother is Spanish and Ute. Father is Cherokee and Irish.
- Recites her own poetry in the film, Taos (2008). While writing it, she had a vision of a dream sequence taking place in the desert. Excited and unable to sleep, she called director, Brandon Schmid, at three in the morning and pitched him her idea. He turned it down. However, her inspiration for and belief in the scene were so strong that Lora persisted for weeks that her dream sequence be shot. She even took Brandon out to dinner one night during the shoot to convince him. He gave in, and on the last day of filming took a 2nd unit camera crew out in the desert to shoot Lora's vision, which is now one of the film's highlights.
