- Doug Fieger was born on August 20, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He was an actor and composer, known for Super 8 (2011), Reality Bites (1994) and The Next Karate Kid (1994). He died on February 14, 2010 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.
- Wrote the song, "My Sharona", a hit in 1979 for his band, The Knack. The song was written for Sharona Alperin, a girl he had a crush on. They dated from 1979 to 1982. She has publicly thanked him for teaching everyone how to pronounce her name correctly. She is now a real-estate agent in Los Angeles.
- Member of the band Sky. The band can be seen in the movie Private Duty Nurses (1971).
- In late 2007 the tumors reappeared and he is currently undergoing an experimental treatment.
