"Twilight" bad guy Cam Gigandet and Jena Malone are starring in "Five Star Day," an indie drama written and being directed by Danny Buday.
The film is a journey of self-discovery about a guy (Gigandet) who loses everything and must come to terms with what's most important in life. Malone is playing his girlfriend.
Also in the cast is Will Yun Lee ("Bionic Woman"), who plays Samuel, the smart best friend and voice of reason to Gigandet's character.
Joel Mendoza and Buday are producing. Shannon Makhanian is co-producing. Executive producing is Mike Robertson.
Buday is a recent AFI grad whose thesis film won several awards on the festival circuit.
Gigandet plays a merciless vampire in Summit's vampire romance "Twilight," which bows Friday. He also appears in "The Unborn," David Goyer's horror thriller, and recently wrapped "Pandorum" with Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster. He is repped by Endeavor and Luber Roklin Entertainment.
