Boba Fett was conspicuous by his absence in The Mandalorian season 3 and, much to the chagrin of actor Temuera Morrison, the bounty hunter even took a backseat to Din Djarin in his own series.
Given the mixed response to The Book of Boba Fett, it's currently unclear what the future holds in store for a character we all thought had died in Return of the Jedi. However, some Star Wars fans are convinced his new armour design has been revealed...in The Simpsons?!
In the latest episode, titled "The Tipping Point," Boba Fett is spotted wearing a suit which features several significant changes to the character's appearance in Disney's recent Star Wars offerings.
As we first pointed out on SFFGazette.com, the design is clearly based on The Book of Boba Fett but includes added details to his shoulder pauldrons and Mandalorian spike decals above his helmet's visor. While this may seem like a stretch,...

Many kids dream of one day getting to play a superhero/villain in a major Hollywood motion picture. The thing is, while it must be incredibly edifying to see yourself performing fantastic feats on the big screen via the assistance of wires and computer-generated effects, actually making these movies can be a slow, arduous undertaking.
While film production in general is often a frustratingly piecemeal process, it gets particularly drawn out when you're dealing with people in complex make-up and tremendously uncomfortable costumes. There are myriad horror stories of actors getting stuffed into suffocating suits that can't be donned or removed easily. You may look and move like Batman in the finished film, but, on set, you feel more like Frankenstein's monster.
Indeed, it often feels like the cooler the outfit looks, the more uncomfortable it is to wear. And if you want proof of this, you need look...

For a character that first appeared in animation in the "Star Wars Holiday Special" and had only a few lines in "The Empire Strikes Back," Boba Fett did pretty well for himself. If you're a "Star Wars" fan, you've likely had discussions about the craziness of how a brilliant costume design ended up taking Boba Fett from a side character to a fan favorite with his own series.
Temuera Morrison, who played Boba's father Jango in the prequels, plays the role in its current form in the Disney+ series "The Book of Boba Fett" as well as "The Mandalorian," giving us more info on Boba and his backstory. This, of course, includes how the bounty hunter working for Jabba the Hutt and Darth Vader managed to survive certain death after being thrown into the sarlacc pit in "Return of the Jedi."
However, back when Boba had only ridden a...

Shawna Trpcic, the Emmy-nominated costume designer who worked on the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka, has died. She was 56.
Trpcic died suddenly of an unknown cause in Palm Desert on Wednesday, her daughter, Sarah, told The Hollywood Reporter.
“Shawna was one of Hollywood’s pre-eminent science fiction costume designers — a creative force, a trusted collaborator and all-around delightful person for her friends and colleagues,” her rep Tim Kressman, an agent at Gersh, said. “She was a beloved member of the Star Wars/Lucasfilm family as well as the community of costume designers and the Costume Designers Guild.”
He added, “Shawna was a dear friend and a dream client to work with.”
Born on Oct. 18, 1966, in Artesia, California, Trpcic initially wanted to be a truck driver in high school, but she had an art teacher who inspired her to pursue being an artist. She...

Prequel Trilogy actor Temuera Morrison has enjoyed a bit of a Star Wars renaissance in recent years, thanks to live-action shows such as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. In both, he took on the role of Boba Fett, the bounty hunting son of the equally infamous mercenary Jango Fett, Morrison’s original character from Attack of the Clones. His role as Boba Fett has opened up a whole new realm of possibilities for Morrison in Star Wars despite Jango’s death in the Prequels.
But although Boba’s story seemed far from over after the events of Book, Morrison didn’t appear in the third season of The Mandalorian, which picks up where his series left off. With no certainty that Book of Boba Fett will even get a second season or that there are plans for the daimyo of Mos Espa in The Mandalorian season 4, we...

The galaxy far, far away isn’t done with director James Mangold just yet, despite the way his first attempt at making a Star Wars movie went. In 2018, the filmmaker was tapped to write and direct a Boba Fett solo movie, but the project was nixed after the tepid response to Solo: A Star Wars Story sent Lucasfilm back to the drawing board to rethink its movie slate. The studio eventually decided that planned movies starring Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi would instead become streaming series for Disney+. The rest is history.
Mangold’s collaboration with Lucasfilm didn’t end there, of course. This week, the studio releases Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which Mangold directed and co-wrote, and he’ll next take a crack at another Star Wars movie, this time about the origin of the Jedi. As revealed at Star Wars Celebration, Mangold will direct...

This Star Wars article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian.
Even though Boba Fett was presumed dead after falling into the Sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian found a way to bring him back with Jango Fett actor Temuera Morrison now playing the role. What started out as a guest appearance in season 2 ultimately led to Boba Fett getting his own spinoff show, The Book of Boba Fett, which showed both how he escaped the Sarlacc and his rise to power on Tatooine.
Boba has become an important character in this era of the Star Wars timeline, unofficially dubbed the “Mandoverse,” and one of Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu’s most valuable allies. So why didn’t Morrison return for The Mandalorian season 3?
During a Q&a at the Supanova Comic Con and Gaming convention in Melbourne, Australia (via The Direct), Morrison speculated that his absence could...

Legendary New Zealand actor Temuera Morrison's number was finally called up again by Lucasfilm when he appeared as Boba Fett, the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy, in the hit Disney+ show "The Mandalorian." As part of the legacy of "Star Wars," Morrison has arguably followed the most unique path out of any other performer in the history of the franchise. First appearing as Jango Fett in "Attack of the Clones," Morrison's likeness became the basis for the Grand Army of the Republic's clones, while the unaltered clone of his "son" Boba grew up to be a gun for hire for Darth Vader.
Morrison would go on to supply voiceovers for the special editions of the original trilogy and numerous video games, along with a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in "The Mandalorian" season 3, episode 4, "The Foundling." However, before Jon Favreau's series came along, Morrison spent years waiting in the wings,...

This Post Contains spoilers for this week’s episode of The Mandalorian, “The Return.”
A funny thing happens in the last 10 minutes of The Mandalorian Season Three: Din Djarin seems to be the central character again.
Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and company spent much of this season treating the show’s title as something that didn’t refer specifically to Grogu’s adoptive father, but to Mandalorian culture as a whole. We learned even more about the Watch’s silly rules regarding helmets, about the Mythosaur, and about tensions between different Mandalorian factions,...

For all of its faults and imperfections over the years, part of what makes "Star Wars" such an enduring franchise is its ability to keep capturing the imaginations of kids everywhere. For original trilogy fans, the lightsaber duel between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi or Luke's trench run through the Death Star were reenacted over and over again on countless playgrounds. Inspired by "Flash Gordon" adventure serials and samurai movies, George Lucas went back to his own childhood to tap into something timeless, and his original vision is still resonating with millions of people around the globe.
For Samuel L. Jackson, wielding his trademark purple lightsaber as Mace Windu -- the fiercest blade on Coruscant -- in "Attack of the Clones" and "Revenge of the Sith" finally allowed the actor to live out a childhood fantasy of his own. Primarily known for more dialogue-heavy roles, Jackson had rarely been given...

This article contains spoilers for "The Mandalorian" season 3, episode 4, "The Foundling."
After last week's episode of "The Mandalorian" spent much of the hour hitting pause on the Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu storyline to revisit a famous "Star Wars" locale, this week's chapter, titled "The Foundling," takes us right back to the same planet of Coruscant -- though at a very different moment in franchise history. The extended flashback sequence explains Grogu's origin story, set during the most fraught events of the entire prequel trilogy. Under the soon-to-be Emperor Palpatine's orders, the wholesale slaughter of the Jedi is enacted as the balance of power in the galaxy shifts decisively in the favor of the fledgling Empire. The scars of the past aren't easily forgotten for a youngling like Grogu, but his trip down memory lane does provide an opportunity for another "Star Wars" legend to make a brief appearance ... of sorts.

This article contains spoilers for "The Mandalorian" episode, "The Convert."
As "The Mandalorian" embarks on its third season, it faces tougher challenges than Pedro Pascal's beskar armor-clad Din Djarin does on a daily basis. For one thing, the return of Grogu neé Baby Yoda in the other Disney+ series, "The Book of Boba Fett," may have confused some of "The Mandalorian" viewers who skipped that show, as well as people who had tuned in for more Boba action and not "Mandalorian 2.5." For another, like most series entering their third season, the show faces many questions about its future: how long is it going to run, is there an endgame in play, and where else can the show (and Din and Grogu) go exploring?
That last question began to be answered with the show's latest episode, "The Convert." Although the beginning and end of the episode followed the further adventures of Din,...
