Plot: Follows Maggie and Negan traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.
Review: After eleven years on the air, The Walking Dead aired its series finale just seven months ago. While the series wrapped up many storylines, it failed to feel like a finale as it laid the groundwork for not one or two but at least three spin-offs. While the Rick and Michone series and the Daryl Dixon story won’t debut until later, Dead City is the first new title in The Walking Dead universe. Led by Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Maggie Rhee and Negan, Dead City finds the adversarial duo forced to team up to rescue Maggie’s son, Hershel, from a villain...

In the trailer for The Walking Dead: Dead City that AMC released Thursday, the Big Apple looks as likely to take a bite out of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan as the other way around. Not only do he and frenemy Maggie (Lauren Cohan) have zombified Manhattanites nipping at their heels, but the baddie who kidnapped her and her late husband Glenn’s son Hershel has, let’s say, a past with the Saviors’ former leader.
As Maggie explains in the clip above, a raid on Hilltop left her short on more than supplies. A new antagonist called the Croat...

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 11, Episode 23, “Family.”] “Family” really has it out for the youngsters in the Walking Dead group, huh? Not one, but two major characters suffer life-threatening injuries in the episode, and both scenes just might bring a tear to your eye. Aside from that, the whole group heads back to the Commonwealth to confront its corrupt leader — but they’re unaware that as they return, a massive horde of walkers (some of them smart walkers) is also heading for the community. Yikes! Here’s how it happens. Jace Downs/AMC As the episode opens, the adults track down the rest of the kids. Judith (Cailey Fleming) maintains that she’d like to go with everyone else to build hope for the future, while Rj (Antony Azor), Hershel (Kien Michael Spiller), and Annie (Medina Senghore) stay behind to potentially set up some ...

There isn’t much that we can imagine would make tough-as-nails Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) cry at this point on The Walking Dead. But in this exclusive sneak peek above from the AMC zombie drama’s October 30 episode, “Outpost 22,” something is clearly up. “They just ripped him away from me. I wasn’t strong enough,” Maggie laments to Carol (Melissa McBride). Last we saw many of the series’ survivors, they had been abducted by the Commonwealth and thrown into trucks headed who knows where. Was Maggie one of the many survivors with bags over their heads on those trucks? If so, she must’ve escaped to get to this point with Carol, who has been on the lam with Daryl (Norman Reedus). It’s possible that her son Hershel (Kien Michael Spiller) has been taken by the Commonwealth and that’s why she is so upset. The future doesn’t...

“Everything I done, and everything I still do is so that we have choices,” says Lauren Cohan’s Maggie Rhee to her young son Hershel (Kien Michael Spiller)in tonight’s latest midseason finale of The Walking Dead. “The place we’re going right now, you may not like it, but I promise you, it is the right choice,” she adds as the zombie apocalypse series reaches the two-thirds point in its 11th and last season.
With the final eight episodes of the AMC show based on Robert Kirkman’s comics set to start later this fall, tonight’s “Acts of God” was certainly a reckoning and a revelation.

A necessary banishment. In this exclusive clip from Sunday, April 4's season 10 finale of The Walking Dead, the tension between Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) isn't subsiding in Alexandria. Thus, Carol (Melissa McBride) takes it upon herself to relocate the reformed villain. The clip starts off with Maggie going for a walk with her son Hershel (Kien Michael Spiller), where she reminisces about life on her family farm. "My daddy and I used to go out first thing like this when I was your age," Maggie explains. "Walk a different part of the property every day. He said it gave him a feel for what kind of day it was gonna be." Young Hershel, who is named after his...

Maggie Rhee is back and she means business. With the premiere of the first of six bonus episodes of Season 10 of “The Walking Dead,” Lauren Cohan has officially made her full-time return to the series that made her a household name.
Before delving into the storyline of this week’s episode, Variety asked Cohan about her experience shooting the show under Covid protocols and how it differed from her past experiences on the set.
“There were obviously a lot of parallels for us shooting the show that’s about an apocalyptic environment, and coming out of what most of us know to be the closest thing to an apocalyptic environment,” Cohan said with a laugh. “We shot episodes that involved a lot less people. So just comparing it to...
