I’m not going to lie, the Axeman franchise is starting to get a bit confusing… the original film was released in 2013 and a sequel arrived a few years later under the title Axeman 2: Overkill. Then in 2020 the original film was recut and re-edited, making it – as filmmaker Joston Theney stated – a more straightforward horror with a leaner edit, new footage and new music. Originally set to be released under the title Axeman: Redux, instead it was released as Axemen at Cutter’s Creek.
Now comes Axeman at Cutter’s Creek 2 which, if you believe IMDb is a sequel to Axeman 2 and Not Axemen at Cutter’s Creek – though the press materials claims otherwise, stating...

Another slice of Surrender Cinema, the cheesy and sleazy sister company of Full Moon, who are notorious for delivering films packed with T&a, and Haunted Hotties does not disappoint. However, the film also delivers on the story (for a change).
Haunted Hotties sees a Professor’s search for the perfect test subject for his invisibility serum lead him to an exotic night club with a macabre twist… all the dancers are blood-sucking creatures of the night! Oh, and another of his serums, one that does for women what viagra does for men, also turns the test subjects into zombie-like rampaging killers!
So we’ve got a mad scientist, vampires and “zombies” plus plenty of nudity in a film that feels like a modern-day Carry On movie.

Interviewed by Jonathan Weichsel
Over the last few years Steven Chang has emerged as one of the most active members of the indie horror community. There is no question that Mr. Chang is deeply passionate about the various artists that he promotes through his Facebook "spotlights," as well as his various Facebook pages. I also like to believe that the artists Chang supports appreciate his boundless enthusiasm for them and their work. I got the chance recently to interview Chang via Facebook's messenger app. You can read our discussion below.
Jonathan Weichsel: How would you describe your role within the indie horror industry? Are you a promoter? Networker? What is your title?
Steven Chang: I am mainly a promoter who does networking when events are available. Such as horror cons or film festivals.
Jonathan Weichsel: Cool! So, how did you first get into indie horror?

The Walking Deceased follows a group of survivors from all walks of the apocalypse – an idiotic Sheriff with definite coma-induced brain damage, his hardass son, four squabbling friends forced to survive this zombieland together, and a lonely zombie who just needs love to fully regain his warm body. They all leave their once-safe hideout in search of the rumored Safe Haven Ranch, a refuge untouched by the zombie virus that has ravaged humanity. But despite the comforting name, they discover that this sanctuary may not be as welcoming as advertised.
Ok, so if you haven’t gathered by the title or by that synopsis, The Walking Deceased is a spoof of the zombie genre – more particularly of the fantastic Zombieland, AMC’s The Walking Dead...

Two's company and three's a crowd--but four can soar! At least that's what the good folks at haRFMFul Productions, Sick Puppy Pictures, MOnsterworks66 and Lion Arch Productions believe as they prep a three-feature slate to shoot in Louisiana later this year or early in 2016!
Rycke Foreman (haRMFul), Phil Condit (Sick Puppy), Maria Olsen (MO66) and Lionel Archuleta (Lion Arch) are developing a slate of three horror-comedies for production in Louisiana and are presently attaching cast and finalizing budgets before approaching La. investors. The three films, Happy Ending, Hacked Off and Grizzled! (#Hehog) are all zany romps through HorCom Land featuring lovely ladies, buckets of blood, hunky heroes and terrifyingly funny Big Bads.
The films may all live in the same genre, but they each have their own special stamp of entertaining insanity:

I like zombies just as much as the next person. Well, okay, maybe a little more, but probably not by much. While my friends and I, as teenagers, discovered the walking dead from satirical horror movies sought out in movie rental shops, most new initiates to the delights of the undead can simply leave their TV on for ten minutes and chances are there’ll be a zombie on it at some point.
Zombies have taken over the world. While the irony of their mass appeal is most certainly lost on them, it isn’t lost on Alexandre Philippe and Chad Herschberger, who decided the best way to deal with the oversaturation...

I don't know who is behind the marketing for Joe Carnahan's Stretch, which is now available on iTunes and Amazon, but they are definitely going all out and it doesn't appear to be Universal is going anywhere near it. That said, they have definitely captured the attention of the Internet, or, well, at least me as I'm something of a Carnahan fan and this new red band trailer would seem to either convince you to see the movie or keep you very far away from it. amz asin="B00O8O3W4U" size="small"Clearly the intent with Stretch is to see just how crazy and debaucherous things can get on the big screen as Patrick Wilson plays a down-on-his-luck chauffeur looking to relieve himself of some debt when he starts working for a billionaire (Chris Pine) who makes his life hell. That, however, only seems to be...

We told you about Joston Theney's sequel to his flick Axeman, entitled Axeman 2: Overkill, a few weeks back; and right now we have an exclusive interview with star Rachel Reilly ("Big Brother," "The Amazing Race") to share.
Dread Central: Mum's been the word with the producers, Joston "El Rey" Theney and Dr. Christopher Otiko, so. What can you tell us about the film?
Rachel Reilly: The film is reminiscent of a 1980s slasher film. It has a witty script and is really fun, action-packed, and of course scary. You're going to laugh and have to cover your eyes! It's everything you want in a horror flick! They take the killings to a whole new level.
DC: You play "Breaker" in the film. What can you tell us about the character? How does she fit into this world?
Rr: Breaker is one badass chic whose only loyalty is to a paycheck!

They will be taking the "killings" in the film to a whole other level of profoundness! People that usually don't ever cover their eyes while watching horror films will probably be starting a new trend after watching this film.

Before we go any further, this has nothing to do with David Cronenberg's 1988 flick Dead Ringers starring Jeremy Irons in a dual role as a loony. Nope, what we have here is a loony of a different kind and sex!
Below you'll spot the first one-sheet for director John Kearns, Jr.'s, new erotic horror thriller Dead Ringer (See? No "s." It's not plural) starring Timothy Woodward, Jr. (Hollywood East, 7 Faces of Jack the Ripper), Jacqui Holland (Hollywood Sex Wars), Ross Bagley (Little Rascals, Independence Day), and Kelly Ryan (Random Acts of Violence) with Todd Bridges ("Diff'rent Strokes") and Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, The Expendables).
Could this finally be all that Willis was talking 'bout? We'll find out soon enough!

I think we can all agree that there haven't been enough nursing home-based horror-comedies lately. The sub-genre is basically barren aside from Bubba Ho-Tep; however, the upcoming Silent But Deadly is ready to drop some more horrific retirement palace humor on you.
Originally titled Hotel Arthritis (which is a pretty hilarious handle in its own right), Silent But Deadly has grabbed this new name, redesigned its movie poster (see below), and even shot a new trailer (see below as well…probably should have told you it was down there when we told you about the poster…sorry).
The cast of this film is absolutely wonderful, including Dawn Wells (MaryAnn from "Gilligan's Island"), John Tartaglia (Broadway's Avenue Q), Lee Meriwether (Catwoman from the 60's "Batman" series), David Proval (Richie Aprile on "The Sopranos"…how's your chest, Richie?), Martin Kove (played the sensei of the Cobra Kai in the original Karate Kid)…are you kidding me?...

The film finds ways to “push the boundaries” of what is wrong and what is funny by meshing the bizarre with the fun, the old with the young, and the comedy with its horror.

Jason Lockhart Deemed one of the potential breakout stars of the year in the horror genre by this very site, Jason Lockhart is one of the busiest actors this year with a wide variety of projects that are either in pre or post production or just recently released like Vampire Boys. Vampire Boys is a gay romantic horror comedy / drama that's out to push boundaries and open the door for a new type of film to co-exist in the indie film world. Jason Lockhart has a non fussy, awww shucks kind of screen presence that allows for him to relate to viewers as the appealing guy next door as he takes on roles playing the nerd, the lovable goofball or the everyman. However, he hasn't allowed himself to be completely corner stoned by this by playing a brooding bad boy in Mine, a cross between Steven Spielberg's Duel and the 2001 thriller Joy Ride.

The idea of doing a Friends styled horror / comedy with some Gen X humor seems like a surefire, can't miss kind of idea. Unfortunately, Zombies and Assholes misses the mark. During the introductory scenes, Jacqui Holland turns in a scene stealing performance. However, the humor that follows afterwards, doesn't have enough edge or bite. What makes something funny, is when the unexpected happens. With that in mind, the various scenarios presented in Zombies and Assholes are all a bit too safe and expected. It's all a bit too predictable. As for the editing, it's sloppy, causing the film to feel disjointed in places throughout. Zombies and Assholes lacks...

The horror genre is known for being the genre in which plenty of up and coming talents have been discovered. Why don't we take a look: Margot Kidder and Bob Clark of Black Christmas, Cory Monteith in Killer Bash, Shannon Elizabeth in Jack Frost, Brandon Fehr in Final Destination, and so on and so on.
With this first annual edition, I wanted to bring some attention to slightly unknown talent that's been making waves or has the potential to do so in the horror community. Anybody in this talented lineup has the potential to become a breakthrough star in my opinion and I wanted to highlight that. I fully believe in the talent of each person that's here on this list. These are the ones you might not have heard of yet, but you should be keeping an eye out on them......

Campy low budget horror film production company and distributor Full Moon Pictures just recently announced the completion of Gingerdead Man 3-D: Saturday Night Cleaver. In between filming and post production the film's status was updated to include the fact that it will be shown in 3-D.

Director Jason Horton is now in post-production on his creature feature Monsters in the Woods. The first trailer for the feature was posted (here) on Fangoria earlier this week. Now, Horton has passed on a couple exclusive photos from the shooting of the film. Actress Jacqui Holland is seen left as Suzi, with what appears to be a life-threatening branch impalement. A second photo is inside, which shows characters Kris (Paul Misko) and Ashley (Linda Bella) in an embrace. Horton says that he is working on the "actual cut this week" and that: "this is definitely the best material I've had to edit with" (Zapruter).
The film is a bloody satire on independent filmmaking and the challenges that directors go through to simply make a film. Even lower budget productions encounter fierce competition and pressure from studios to follow certain formulas. These elements are in Horton's tongue-in-cheek Monsters in the Woods.
