Bogota (Colombia), Dec 7 (Ians) Star Indian weightlifter Mirabai Chanu battled wrist pain to clinch a silver medal in the women’s 49kg division at the World Weightlifting Championships 2022, here.
Mirabai lifted a total weight of 200kg (87kg snatch + 113kg clean and jerk) on Tuesday night for her second world championships medal. She won the gold in 2017 and finished fourth in the 2019 edition.
Jiang Huihua of China won her third world championships gold medal with a combined lift of 206 kg (93kg+113kg) while Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Hou Zhihui of China settled for bronze for 198kg (89kg+109kg).
The 28-year-old Indian hurt her wrist during training in September. She then competed at the National Games the following month despite the injury.

Mumbai, Nov 24 (Ians) With a few medallists from the Commonwealth Games including Jeremy Lalrinnunga still to recover from their injuries, India will field a five-member team led by Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu at the World Weightlifting Championships 2022 to be held in Bogota, Colombia next month.
With the likes of Lalrinnunga, who suffered a lower back and thigh injury while winning the gold medal in men’s 67kg at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in August, has not yet recovered fully and will, just like the Asian weightlifting championships last month, missing the event, the national selectors have picked four lifters for the event and will add one more name to the list.

Tigmanshu Dhulia’s next Raag Desh had its official launch and set visit on 3rd July 2016. The film is based on Indian National Army trials. The film is produced by Gurdeep Singh Sapal, who is also the CEO of Rajsabha TV.
Three major characters of the film are played by Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Mohit Marwah. Renowned directors like Raj Kumar Santoshi, Vishal Bhardwaj, Ketan Mehta, Shaad Ali, Sudhir Mishra and Subhash Kapoor were also present at the event. The event was hosted by the lyricist Manoj Muntashir.
When asked, Gurdeep Singh Sapal he said, “Rajya Sabha TV only works with National Award winning directors and the repertoire of his work and the way he has treated Paan Singh Tomar especially which was set in a period of contemporary India but not current India was one of the criteria why we chose him and also his treatment about the subjects.

The entire Mehendi family including Daler Singh Mehendi his wife Niki Mehendi son Gurdeep Mehendi, daughter Ajit Mehendi launched the first look of their forthcoming film Meri Shaadi Karao alongwith the cast of the film Radhika Vaid and Manoj Pahwa.
While they were excited about their debut venture, debutant Gurdeep Singh Mehendi spoke about his role in the film. Ajit Mehendi entertained the audiences with her song from the film. Niki Mehendi had no words to describe her children who are both making their debut in their own ways.
As the title suggests the film is a romantic comedy, which has been shot in the beautiful landscape of Dubai.
The film speaks about marriage which is the turning point in everybody’s life as one steps into a new journey of life. Those who are fortunate are successful in this journey and those who are unsuccessful are the few unfortunate.
