Interestingly enough, Bill is looking very clean in today’s photos, but none the less sinister. He may have been swimming in blood in our previous sneak peeks, but in today’s images, its Sookie and her compatriots who look like they’ve been to hell and back. Hey, at least they are still alive, right? That counts for something.
HBO’s 10-episode sixth season of True Blood begins Sunday, June 16 at 9/8c. Yes, very sadly, that’s two fewer episodes than fans are accustomed to having.
On the bright side, however, you can expect a big number of special guest stars this coming season. Veteran actor Rutger Hauer returns as Niall Brigant. He is in one of today’s photos. Anna Camp is Sarah Newlin,...

Plus, Billith is here to stay — and he doesn’t look too happy. Browse all 22 new pics!
A battle is brewing in Bon Temps between humans and vampires, and thanks to HBO, we have another major sneak peek at all the action! The network just released 22 stills from the upcoming sixth season of True Blood – premiering June 16 at 9 p.m. — giving us our first look at some of the town’s newest residents. But do they call come in peace? (Yeah, right.)
For starters, we see Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) narrowly escaping the Authority’s compound. The season premiere picks up exactly where last summer’s finale left off, which means Billith (Stephen Moyer) remains in hot pursuit of the duo. Speaking of the vampire ‘god,’ it looks like Bill won’t be bloody and naked forever. An additional still in the collection shows him seated on a chair,...

NBC never did pick up the women's prison drama pilot Bad Girls - an adaptation of a UK series - that Jurnee Smollett was a star of. But the young actress has locked in 2 other TV jobs, including the previously-mentioned role as the daughter of Phylicia Rashad’s character, in NBC's Jekyll-and-Hyde-ish thriller, Do No Harm, as well as today's reveal - that she'll be joining the cast of HBO‘s True Blood during its upcoming sixth season. Ms Smollett will play Nicole Wright, described as "wide-eyed... who is not concerned with money and more concerned with the common good and...

Two new faces are set to come on board True Blood Season 6.
Jurnee Smollett (pictured, Friday Night Lights) has been cast as a series regular, Deadline reports, and will portray the new character of Nicole Wright, described as someone unconcerned with money and focused on the common good.
Amelia Rose Blaire, meanwhile, will come on board as Willa Burrell, the daughter of Arliss Howard's Governor Truman Burrell and someone who has long clashed with her dad over vampire rights. Her role is recurring.
No premiere date has been set yet, but look for True Blood to return in June.

HBO‘s vampire drama True Blood is adding two females to the cast for its upcoming sixth season with Amelia Rose Blaire (90210) and Friday Night Lights alumna Jurnee Smollett. Blaire will play Willa Burrell, the daughter of Louisiana Gov. Truman Burrell (Arliss Howard), who has long clashed with her father over vampire rights. Smollett will play wide-eyed Nicole Wright, who is not concerned with money and more concerned with the common good and doing what’s right. I hear Blaire’s role is recurring that could become regular, and Smollett will be a regular. Blaire, repped by Bauman, Redanty & Shaul, and Anthem Entertainment, will be seen in the upcoming indies Commencement and Jesus Iin Cowboy Boots. Smollett, repped by ICM Partners and Storefront Entertainment, recently did an arc on Fox’s Mob Doctor.
