We were a bit worried about the new series of My Mad Fat Diary. It's that difficult second series syndrome - we adored the first run, so could these new episodes possibly live up to it? Would it retain its charm, its brazenness, its touching moments? We weren't entirely sure that the show could pull it off. Luckily, we were utterly wrong.
It turns out My Mad Fat Diary's second series opener was just as funny, just as moving, just as brave, just as honest as those episodes that we fell for last year. It's hard to truly explain the importance of a show like this, which is so utterly candid about teenage life - whether or not you're mentally ill. In a world post-90210 and Gossip Girl, it's a genuine relief to find a show which deals with genuine insecurities, fears and anxieties.
But that's not to say...

Comic Con hasn’t been strictly superheroes in a long, long time. We have scoured the schedule for this year’s event and have pulled out the dark, the bloody, the monstrous, and the ghostly panels that look to be right up FEARnet readers’s alley.
Paranormal Passion Panel
Authors discuss the inclusion of romantic elements in their action-packed novels. Protagonists must battle the forces of evil while trying to keep the world (and often their lovers) safe from destruction. Maryelizabeth Hart of Mysterious Galaxy leads a discussion with Comic-Con special guest Christine Feehan (The Dark Series), Claudia Gray (Spellcaster), Aprilynne Pike (Earthbound), Lauren Kate (The Fallen Novels), Kendare Blake (Antigoddess), and Magnus Flyte (City of Dark Magic).

New Party Game! In apropos of nothing, we’ve spent the last two days coming up with Celebrities Whose Names Sound Like Game Of Thrones Characters – meaning, actors, musicians, athletes, and other famous people whose real-life names contain some combination of fantasy-ness, pseudo-ethnicity, and juuust-slightly-offitude worthy of a bonafide Westeros inhabitant. Here are our favorite 50 Celebrity Names That Sound Like Game Of Thrones Characters, along with descriptions of who their names would be on the show (not who they’d be, just the names), ranked from 50 to 1 in order of Game Of Throneyness. Leave your own suggestions in the comments – we stupidly can’t get enough of these: 50. Baz Luhrmann Director of Moulin Rouge; Shifty mage apprentice to the warlock Pyat Pree 49. Jurnee Smollet Played Jess on Friday Night Lights; Homely Winterfell commoner who attracts Theon’s affections 48. Joaquin Phoenix Star of Gladiator and Walk The Line; Standard-Bearer of House...

Smallville ended with Clark Kent finally understanding his calling as the Last Son of Krypton and embracing his destiny as the Man of Steel. What happens next is, as they say, history. We all know the hero that Superman becomes, right?
Maybe not.
Smallville story editor and writer Bryan Q. Miller doesn’t think so apparently. Bleeding Cool reports that he may be working on a novel about what happened to the characters of Smallville after that curtain closed. Something similar to the medium hop that Buffy the Vampire Slayer experienced with the Season 8 and Season 9 comic book arcs.
Stay tuned with us as this story develops.
[The Shakedown]
If you’re anything like me, the 2 hour finale to Smallville was the biggest cheap shot in television history. For a decade, fans watched Tom Welling take on the role of Clark Kent and really make it his own. While producers and writers...

'Doing EastEnders wasn't exactly suffering for my art, but my soul's not in TV. We all have to live, don't we?'
What got you started?
A lady called Anna Scher. She used to go around the London schools in the holidays, doing theatre workshops. My friend Paul's sister was going, so we turned up one day when I was about 13. There were some nice-looking girls there, so we carried on going.
What was your big breakthrough?
Doing a play called Class Enemy at the Royal Court when I was about 16. It was about a classroom of kids left with no teacher, so each of them gives a lesson about what they know.
Do you suffer for your art?
Doing EastEnders wasn't exactly suffering, but my soul's not in quick-fix TV. Theatre doesn't pay like TV work pays, though. We all have to live, don't we?
You've played a lot of "geezer" roles.

British host Jonathan Ross said in a radio interview that his daughter Betty Kitten is a lesbian, and that he loves and supports her.
American Idol alum Alex Lambert is not homeless, despite a series of tweets to that effect. His management company says that he doesn’t have a record deal, he’s being paid and in the studio creating demos.

Jerry Lewis films Cinderfella, The Bellboy, and The Family Jewels are set for remakes. I’m not a huge fan of Jerry Lewis comedy to start with, and his recent antics in the press make him less appealing. I'm not so keen on these remakes, though I’d be completely in support of a totally gay take on Cinderfella.

Talks on Blur reuniting for next year's Glastonbury have been rive but they have never been as close as a confirmation. The Sun is reporting that the British band that made their fame in the '90s, will announce a confirmation of their reunion later today, December 9.
Two of the things in their agenda would be the June festival, Glastonbury, and their own show at London's Hyde Park the following month. This year's Glastonbury is set on June 24 to June 29. Confirmed acts include Franz Ferdinand and The Ting Tings while the rumored ones include Kanye West and Bruce Springsteen.
Blur, which are fronted by Damon Albarn have gone stale since releasing "Think Tank" in 2003. Allegedly, it was the rift between Albarn and the band's guitarist Graham Coxon that caused the hiatus. But The Sun claimed a source said that "they've patched up their differences and are friends again. The group...

Young ‘uns might recognise actor Phil Daniels from his recent spell on EastEnders as Kevin Wicks or perhaps his short stint on reality TV show Strictly Come Dancing rings bells. For those more into their music, his cockney charms might seem familiar from the hit single and accompanying music video for indie band Blur’s “Park Life” but for mods and fans of cult films, it was as Jimmy in 1979’s Quadrophenia that he will forever be remembered. In the 60s set film, Jimmy and his London pals spend their time getting high, listening to music and riding about on cool scooters and fans of the film can get their hands on Jimmy’s scooter as it goes under the hammer later in the month.
