Prime’s The Boys has gained immense love and appeal from its fans, as it has shown a refreshing take on superheroes, which goes beyond themes like nobility and selflessness. The series showcases a darker side of heroism and how individuals would act if they had superpowers. With relevant themes and equally dark humor, the show is definitely a fan favorite.
A still from The Boys
Needless to say, the fans were excited when the 4th season was announced. However, none of the fans were ready for the renewal of 5th season. However, it was not too surprising as the franchise’s most renowned spin-off, Gen V was renewed for a 2nd season as well. The fans of the twisted TV Series were hyped and jumping with excitement as they tweeted on social media.

Black Noir isn’t the only supe making a surprise reappearance in The Boys season 4.
The first official trailer for the upcoming season reveals not only Black Noir alive and well in The Seven after his death the end of season 3, but also someone who looks a lot like Queen Maeve. We know that Maeve (Dominique McElligott) is still alive, albeit totally powerless, after fighting Soldier Boy. She used the fight to fake her death so she could escape Vought once and for all. To them and the rest of the world, Queen Maeve is dead.
So who is the lookalike in the season 4 trailer? While there hasn’t been confirmation of this new Maeve’s role, it doesn’t seem like she’s a replacement for Maeve in The Seven like Black Noir’s is. Her outfit is more bejeweled than practical (though that hasn’t stopped Vought before...

Based on the bestselling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys was developed for television by Eric Kripke, who serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner. It’s described as a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes—who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods—abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for Episode 7 of “Gen V,” titled “Sick” now streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video.
One week until the Season 1 finale of “Gen V” and Amazon’s college spinoff of “The Boys” has revealed just how tight the ties that bind it to its parent series are.
In Episode 7, “Sick,” there are callbacks to storylines planted at the beginning of “The Boys,” and vital information relayed from characters on one show to another.
Grace Mallory (Laila Robins) of “The Boys” — the former deputy director of the CIA, and founder of The Boys and their fight against Vought — met with Dean Shetty (Shelley Conn) at Shetty’s request, and was shocked to learn of the fatal-to-supes virus built in the Woods, and quickly refused to help Shetty spread the virus.

This article contains spoilers for The Boys seasons 1-3 and Gen V season 1.
In the world of Prime Video’s The Boys, superheroes – or supes as they’re not-so-affectionately called – are a part of normal, everyday life. But these supes aren’t naturally born, they’re created by Vought Industry’s Compound V serum. Even though Vought does their best to control who does and does not become a supe, they don’t have control over how abilities manifest in people who take Compound V.
This leads to a wide variety of powers among the supes on the show, including those in the prestigious superhero group known as The Seven. With so many superpowered characters appearing in both large and small roles throughout the series, it can be hard to keep track of what exactly everyone can do. Here is a handy guide breaking down the powers of The Seven,...

This article contains spoilers for Gen V.
The Boys’ universe has become well-known for shocking deaths, bloody explosions, and corrupt superheroes. While the spinoff series Gen V has all of those things, and more, it also has an effortless queerness to it that The Boys has been lacking.
This isn’t to say that Queen Maeve’s (Dominique McElligott) arc in The Boys is terrible queer representation. It makes sense that she would have felt forced to hide who she was to keep her place in The Seven only for Vought to force her to come out to make themselves look progressive later on. Every part of Maeve’s identity is something for Vought to exploit, which The Boys does a great job of making abundantly clear.
But that’s what makes Gen V so refreshing in comparison. Queerness is just a normal part of life at God U and...

Is “The Boys” a satire of superhero franchises or a superhero franchise itself? Such is the question posed by a show that is, among other things, a cautionary tale about corporate monopoly that airs on Amazon. So far, though, the answer is both — a delicate balance “The Boys” has sustained through three acclaimed seasons, an animated anthology series and, now, a live-action spinoff, the college-set “Gen V.” The contradictions of success may eventually take their toll on the pitch-black comedy and its satellites, which portray so-called superheroes as pawns of the rapacious Vought International. But “Gen V” retains the edge, cynicism and (aptly) adolescent humor that make its parent show tick, suggesting “The Boys” is far from the creative fatigue now plaguing juggernauts like the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Eric Kripke's "The Boys" emerged as a groundbreaking and thought-provoking series in an era dominated by superheroes on big and small screens. It tore away the glossy veneer from caped crusaders, focusing on the intricate issues accompanying god-like powers. With its unapologetically dark tone and satirical storytelling, "The Boys," adapted from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's comic book series, dismantles traditional notions of heroism, celebrity, and power dynamics. It portrays a world where superpowers and marketing prowess collide, creating a chaotic and morally corrupted landscape.
Starring Anthony Starr, Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, and Erin Moriarty, "The Boys" garnered critical acclaim across its first three seasons. Its strong fanbase led to the approval of a fourth installment and a new spinoff named "Gen V." This fresh series introduces aspiring heroes whose powers derive knowingly from a manufactured element called Compound V.

One of the exciting things about TV spin-offs is that there's always the potential for crossover characters and cameos, and it sounds like the upcoming "The Boys" spin-off, "Gen V," will have no shortage of them! Entertainment Weekly recently revealed that there are at least a handful of characters who will make appearances in "Gen V," ranging from some of the parent series' sillier side characters to members of The Seven themselves. The new series, which debuts later this month on Prime Video, will follow students at the prestigious Godolkin University, a college run by the villainous Vought Corporation to shape young supes into the future faces of the company. The show's collegiate setting means there probably won't be any visits from any of the Boys themselves, who try to avoid being in Vought territory if they can help it, but it doesn't exclude any of the Vought-friendly folks from showing their faces,...

Happy early Halloween! The R-rated misadventures of Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his ragtag group up meta-human hunters are coming home to crash on your couch this October. The explosive third season of "The Boys" has set a home media release, with plans to arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on October 24. Continuing their ongoing battle with Homelander -- the leader of The Seven -- and the evil corporate minions of Vought International, the third season of "The Boys" hit the ground running. The series went to new heights in season 3 with some of the most shocking episodes ever shown on television. Who can forget the "Herogasm" episode? I certainly can't.
The third season of "The Boys" may be its best yet, largely due to the incredible chemistry of the entire cast, as evidenced by a peek at the behind-the-scenes gag reel (watch below) that will also be featured on the new physical release.

“The Boys” supervising sound editor Wade Barnett calls his 2023 Emmy nomination an “exciting moment,” and it’s one he’s experienced before as he was also nominated for Amazon Prime Video’s comic-book drama in 2020. This time around Barnett is up for his work on the Season 3 finale, “The Instant White-Hot Wild,” which streamed last July. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
One of the reasons the finale was chosen to be submitted to Emmy voters is because it “had a lot of really good sound design moments,” the artisan tells us. “But also the story kind of all wraps up, so overall it’s just a really solid episode.” He adds that it’s a “really tough” choice to pick just one, because “these episodes are almost kind of like mini-movies.”

Don’t let the title “The Boys” fool you — Amazon Prime Video’s comic-book series also has girls! In fact, there are six female actors submitted for the 2023 Emmys for Season 3, which streamed last summer and is now eligible at the upcoming ceremony. The Emmy ballots were officially unveiled on the Television Academy’s website on June 15, the same day nominations-round voting began (it will conclude on June 26 at 10:00 p.m.).
Submitted in the category of Best Drama Actress are Erin Moriarty as Annie January/Starlight and Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko. Season 3 was impactful for both of these fan-fave characters, as the lead actresses revealed in our recent video chats. Starlight wound up quitting the superhero team known as The Seven after some decisions people “deemed amoral,” Moriarty explained. This article contains spoilers for season 3 of "The Boys."
Eric Kripke's Prime Video series "The Boys" has always been brutal, but season 3 was especially violent, killing off major characters or wounding them permanently. That's saying something when you take into account the fact that many of the characters are superhuman and incredibly tough to kill, but season 3 saw a whole lot of them kick the bucket.
Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), in particular, went through hell in the finale, losing an eye in the battle with Homelander (Antony Starr) and losing her powers in the battle with Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). It looked like she died, but she miraculously survived, albeit as a normal, non-superpowered human with some pretty nasty injuries. This was a change from the character's fate in the comics, but it made a lot of sense given the changes to the character in general and her impressive arc over the three seasons.

Homelander continues to have blood on his hands…and everywhere else too. The Boys cast member, Antony Starr shares some deliciously bloody pictures on his official Instagram account as season 4 wraps filming. The blonde antihero is no stranger to being covered in blood and the hit Amazon Prime series never shies away from some good gore. ComingSoon reports on The Boys star, Starr, as he teases what’s to come with the caption, “Question : does history repeat? Look forward to your thoughts.”
The official Instagram account for the series would reply to his post with the tongue-in-cheek comment, “Most normal pics coming out of S4, lad.” Starr’s social media post would feature five different close ups of the actor smothered in fake blood showcasing different expressions. The account for Prime Video UK would also jokingly respond with the comment, “which homelander are you today? we’re number 5.”

Even though “The Boys” Season 3 streamed almost a year ago in June-July of 2022, this is my friendly reminder to TV academy members that it’s eligible for the upcoming 2023 Emmy Awards. “The Boys” is a classic example of a television show that continues to build momentum year after year, and it shouldn’t be discounted when marking your ballots in the coming months. After all, the third season was better than ever with new characters, deathly twists and naughty orgies.
The first season of the Amazon Prime Video comic book adaptation only nabbed a single Emmy nomination in 2020 for sound editing. In a media landscape saturated with superheros, one show manages to stand out from the rest. Eric Kripke's "The Boys" follows a ragtag group of human vigilantes in a world where superheroes are not only real, but just as flawed as the rest of us. The Prime Video series is bursting with super-abled people, each of whom possesses a unique set of powers. The fun of the series lies in not only watching what these "supes" can do, but seeing how they inevitably use their abilities for mischief and debauchery.
However, while they're incredibly fun, these powers can be hard to fathom; some are downright confounding. A supe called Termite (Brett Geddes), for example, loses control of his ability to miniaturize when he sneezes, while a hero named Love Sausage (Andrew Jackson) has no discernable power aside from amplified control of his massive ... appendage. And these examples are merely the tip of the iceberg.

Season four of The Boys is expected to premiere on Prime Video later this year, and some viewers have been concerned that the superhero series is coming to an end. The fourth season's finale is being filmed in Toronto.
Starring Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Jensen Ackles, the series is set in a world where superheroes exist. Perhaps the biggest development in season 3 of "The Boys" is that Vought's beloved group of superheroes, The Seven, lost a couple members. Supersonic is dead, as is Black Noir. Starlight (Erin Moriarty) has left the group forever, and Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) is no longer even a supe. That leaves only three members left: Homelander (Antony Starr), the Deep (Chase Crawford), and A-Train (Jessie T. Usher). If you're someone who'd actually like to be rescued from a dangerous situation, this is not exactly an inspiring line-up.
So naturally, season 4 will see the addition of a few new members of the Seven, which means we're about to be introduced to some brand new supes. So far, we've gotten a glimpse of two of them: Sister Sage and Firecracker. But who are these two supes? What are their powers? What can we expect from them as we head into the new season?...

There's a lot to look forward to with season 4 of "The Boys," which likely won't air until sometime in 2023. Will Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) make a return? How will Butcher (Karl Urban) deal with his declining health? Will Homelander (Antony Starr) ever overcome his mommy issues? We'll just have to wait and see.
For Erin Moriarty, the big question she's wondering is where her character Annie goes from here. Annie left the Seven for good in the finale, saying goodbye to her Starlight persona once and for all. "I loved throwing that cape down a trash chute symbolically," Moriarty told Newsweek. "I think that she's realized that wearing a mask is not the way that she's gonna go about seeking justice, fighting crime, doing all the things that she wants to do."
If you could define Annie's core internal conflict throughout the first few seasons, it would be her deciding...

Warning: contains spoilers for The Boys Seasons 1- 3.
We love The Boys, which is an outrageously gross and often hilarious take-down of celebrity culture, social media politics and even, occasionally, superhero stories. But we have one request for The Boys season 4 – let the female characters be as flawed as the boys!
Of course, every character in The Boys is flawed in some way, because it’s just that kind of world. And thanks to a number of male characters from the comic book series who have been gender-flipped for the show, the TV version does have a decent roster of flawed or outright villainous female characters. But in season 4, we’d love to see just a little more in the way of character flaws for the two central comics-origin female characters: Annie and Kimiko

Things were looking pretty bleak for Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) at the end of the season 3 finale. After losing an eye to Homelander (Anthony Starr), Maeve had seemingly jumped to her death, sacrificing herself to save everyone...

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details of The Boys Season 3 finale that dropped on Prime Video today.
“You’re a f*cking disappointment,” a vengeful Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) tells offspring Homelander (Anthony Starr) in the final battle of The Boys’ Season 3 finale.
If those harsh cross-generational words from one despicable supe to another weren’t enough, the finale episode, titled “The Instant White-Hot Wild,” saw a body count that included Seven members and potential Veep candidates and an emerging death sentence for Butcher (Karl Urban) for his ingestion of V24. With Starlight Erin Moriarty) having outed Homelander as a murderous psycho in a previous episode, she now officially joins The Boys as a presidential election looms that could see a Vought operative inside the Oval Office.
With all that, and some Donald Trump, Gal Gadot and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just offstage, showrunner Eric Kripke sat down to peel back how...

This The Boys article contains spoilers for season 3 episode 8.
According to The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke, it’s no big secret what the show’s ultimate plan is.
“By the time we get to the end of the series, whenever that is, (Homelander) needs to be ready to destroy the planet,” Kripke tells Den of Geek. “I think it’s obvious that we’re building to that being the core problem. It would be weird if we didn’t. It would be weird if we built to ‘oh no, turns out the whole time it was Termite.'”
Though it might have already been readily apparent to anyone who has watched the show thus far or read Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s comic of the same name, everything on The Boys comes down to Homelander. As long as there is a nearly invulnerable superman out there testing the limits...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “The Instant White-Hot Wild,” the Season 3 finale episode of “The Boys.”
“The Boys” ended its third season Friday with a finale that included multiple character deaths, changes in alliances and cliffhangers so huge that even Starlight would have a hard time flying down from them safely. Luckily for the Amazon Prime Video series, fans have grown accustomed to this madness and likely knew they were in for a wild ride when they tuned into the Season 3 finale.

Just when viewers thought season three of "The Boys" would wrap up everything in a nice bow, the final episode spoils everyone's peaceful plans and leaves a huge mess behind for season four.
The climactic father-son battle at Vought Tower between Homelander (Antony Starr) and Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) finally brings some resolution to this season's Supe manhunt, and it seems as though everyone goes their separate ways. A powerless Maeve (Dominique McElligott) leaves town to live a normal life with her girlfriend, Elena; Butcher (Karl Urban) comes to grips with his death wish; Homelander gets his son, Ryan, back; and Starlight (Erin Moriarty) is officially a member of the Boys. However, a certain character's political rise may set up yet another epic catastrophe for "The Boys" to sort through in the near future.
"I only know what's going to happen with my character and the story when I get the scripts.

This post contains spoilers for the final episode of "The Boys" season 3.
Of all the characters in "The Boys," Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) is probably the most improved from her comic book counterpart. Comic book Maeve was a one-dimensional parody of Wonder Woman who had a minor turn towards the good side before being unceremoniously murdered by Homelander. The TV show, meanwhile, made it clear early on that their Maeve would be a lot more sympathetic and a lot more interesting. When she finally rebels against Homelander (Antony Starr) at the end of season 2, her plan actually works. Sure, Homelander calls her bluff later...

The power dynamics of the Prime Video series "The Boys" got a major shake-up in season 3, as Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) revealed that his chest-beam could remove a supe's powers, and Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott) helped give Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his Boys a type of temporary Compound V that can give them short-term superpowers. Giving some characters powers and taking them away from others certainly levels the playing field, but it also allows for some compelling character arcs surrounding how power affects us all.

Emmy nominee Paul Reiser has officially joined the cast of Amazon’s The Boys as a guest star in the fan-favorite role of The Legend, following rumors of his participation in the series that went unconfirmed. Reiser will make his series debut in this week’s episode titled “The Last Time To Look On This World Of Lies” which drops on Friday.
The 8-episode season is set to conclude on July 8. Amazon renewed the series for a fourth season last week.
The Boys gives insight into what happens when superheroes—who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods—abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. Intent on stopping the corrupt superheroes, The Boys, a group of vigilantes, continue their heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought—the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets.

One week after exploding genitalia in its Season 3 premiere and increasing viewership by 17 from Season 2’s debut, “The Boys” has been renewed for a fourth season at Amazon.
While “The Boys” star Karl Urban previously spilled the fourth-season beans when he said at Variety‘s SXSW Studio on March 12 that he was “shooting ‘The Boys’ through the end of the year,” well after production had already wrapped on Season 3, Friday’s renewal marks the official Season 4 pickup from Amazon.
Of course, giving “The Boys” a fourth season was always a no-brainer for Amazon, as the Eric Kripke-created show is at the center of the streamer’s first multi-series franchise, which now includes animated anthology spinoff “The Boys Presents: Diabolical” and the currently in-production untitled spinoff, which is set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes.

This article contains The Boys Season 3 spoilers
The Boys are back, but gone are the days when we would be able to binge a whole season of the show in one sitting! Amazon Prime Video is sticking to the same release format it used in Season 2 of its most irreverent series for the brand-new Season 3, and that means that from now on we will have to feast on each episode weekly.
Prime Video released the first three episodes of The Boys Season 3 on June 3, and there was certainly a lot to unpack. The first episode alone delivered sights never before seen on TV, including the “natural” evolution of Avengers: Endgame’s iconic Ant-Man meme, and a Charlize Theron cameo that happened to be a complete coincidence after her recent MCU debut. Then, there was a broken arm heard around the world, Butcher on a violent mission fuelled by a temporary dose of Compound V,...

This article contains spoilers for The Boys season 3 episode 1 and Doctor Stranger in the Multiverse of Madness.
The Boys season 3 opens in a place where the show hasn’t dared tread before: the cinema. After filming a whole superhero movie in season 2, The Boys now entreats viewers to the fruits of Vought International and director Adam Bourke’s (P.J. Byrne’s) labor in the first five minutes of season 3. And what a five minutes they are!
Dawn of the 7 is an Avengers or Justice League-style superhero teamup film starring the superpowered members of Vought’s premier team. In a bit of brilliant corporate synergy, the film apparently underwent some expensive reshoots to incorporate the events of Homelander’s (Antony Starr) life in season 2, namely his unfortunate romance with secret Nazi supe Stormfront (Aya Cash).
These reshoots allow The Boys to make some jokes at both the Dceu and Star Wars’ expense.

This review of The Boys season 3 contains no spoilers and is based on all eight episodes.
Ever since satire was invented people have loved to claim that it’s dead.
The impulse is understandable as sometimes the world is so intensely bizarre that there doesn’t appear to be much point in comedically exaggerating it further. Articles claiming that the noble comedic art is obsolete dominate the internet right now just as much as the topic surely saturated discussion in Roman baths and coliseums.
What all of those discussions miss, however, is one very important point: The Boys. They’re back in town, you see. When The Boys season 3 premieres its first three episodes this Friday, June 3 on Prime Video, even the most satire-agnostic among us will have to concede that the show is onto something. While the series has always been…let’s say, ahead of its time, in predicting unfortunate American cultural trends,...

Comic book fans don’t dig too Deep with the hate mail.
“The Boys” star Chace Crawford, who plays Aquaman parody The Deep on the Emmy-nominated Prime Video series, revealed that he receives social media jabs from DC fans who take their “Aquaman” love a little too seriously.
“Occasionally on Instagram, I’ll get a, ‘Fuck you, fish guy. You think it’s funny to make fun of Aquaman?'” Crawford told GQ. “I’m like, perfect. That’s exactly what I want.”
“The Boys” Season 3 premieres June 3 and no doubt will continue mocking the blind fandom of fictional superheroes, asking audiences what would really happen if caped crusaders (“supes”) existed in the real world rife with corporate corruption, endorsement deals, and a powerfully addictive Compound V.
Of course, “The Boys” isn’t the only show to mock Aquaman’s unique abilities: Jon Cena quipped in “Peacemaker” that Jason Momoa’s Aquaman “fucks fish” regularly,...
