Returning showrunner Russell T Davies has spoken in the past about how the previous Doctor Who spin-offs came too soon. Given the current expanded universe boom across various franchises led by Marvel’s dominance of cinema and subsequent ventures into TV, the launch of The Sarah-Jane Adventures, Torchwood, etc…. was ahead of its time.
Now, Davies argues, is the moment for Doctor Who‘s version of the MCU. And according to a recent article on mirror.co.uk, that’s exactly what’s about to happen. Rumour has it that fans can expect spin-off series featuring some of the Doctor’s most famous enemies.
The Mirror’s anonymous source suggested: “Fans can expect to see Sontarans, Weeping Angels and Sea Devils in separate series showing what they get up to when the Doctor isn’t there to stop them, along with Daleks and Cybermen.”

Snog Marry Avoid? is to be remade for Us television.
TLC has commissioned 12 half-hour episodes of the long-running BBC Three format, and will be titled Love, Lust or Run?.
The new version will be produced by Endemol's True Entertainment, and will air on the network in 2015.
Love, Lust or Run? will be a similar format to the original show, which follows men and women with extreme fashion styles who are then given a 'make-under'.
A 'personal overhaul device' named Pod restores them to their natural look, before the public decides if it is an improvement.
Snog Marry Avoid? has run for six series, and was originally presented by Atomic Kitten's Jenny Frost, before Fake Reaction's Ellie Taylor took over.
It launched back in 2008, with its seventh series expected to air later this year.

Fancy watching some poor punter getting a back, sack and crack from Rustie Lee? Want a waxing from Helen Flanagan? Is Arg from Towie delivering pedicures what you've been waiting for all these years? Well, wait no more people. Celebrity Super Spa has arrived.
I've already had the joy of watching episode one of Super Spa. I've seen the awkward and cringeworthy hosts. I've seen Helen Flanagan prancing around without any trousers on. I've seen Rustie Lee cackling. 867 times.
And I'll probably watch it all over again tonight (September 13) when it airs on Channel 5. Firstly, because I'm a glutton for terrible television. Secondly, because I'm fairly convinced it may be the most desperate celebrity reality show ever concieved. Even by Channel 5's late night standards, this is awful. It makes The Bachelor look like The Sopranos.
So where does the show fit in the history of degrading and embarrassing celebrity reality shows?...

The former Atomic Kitten singer was named by new host Brian Dowling as the revamped show's debut housemate and made her way into the Elstree compound to a mainly positive reception from the crowd. Katona, who admitted in her Vt to being "a bit annoying", confessed: "I'm shaking. I'm really, really nervous. This is completely different [to other reality shows]. I'm filmed in my own home with my children by my side. I'm not going to be able to tuck my children into bed." Asked how her kids felt about their mum's absence, Katona added: "When I said goodbye to them I felt really guilty, but I'm here to change my life and stand on my own two feet." The Star Sunday reports today that reality TV personality Kerry Katona – who’s signed up to go into the Big Brother house this year – has got back with her ex-boyfriend Adam Waldron in a bid to get her life back on the rails.
And it seems the move has met with the approval of Kerry’s mum Sue who thinks that Adam is a calming influence on her daughter.
The paper adds, “She believes decorator Adam is ‘the best bloke she’s ever had’ and claims the former Atomic Kitten ‘needs him to stay sane’”.
30 year old Kerry apparently agrees and is in constant phone contact with Adam.
A close friend of Kerry’s confirmed, “Sue has very much taken the reigns now and is determined to stop her spiralling out of control like she has so often in the past.”

Helena Bonham Carter has been named people’s choice to star in Doctor Who as the first female Doctor in a recent poll by sci-fi magazine SFX. Conducted on SFX.co.uk, the poll asked readers which actress they would most like to see at the controls of the Tardis, with almost 2,000 sci-fi fans taking part.
With a long history of embodying wacky characters, such as The Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland and Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, Helena Bonham Carter was SFX readers’ overwhelming favourite for the part, beating Green Wing and Episodes star Tamsin Greig into second place. Fellow Harry Potter actress, Emma Watson, was the only actress under 30 to make it into the top 10 in the poll. Perhaps most surprisingly, ex-Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona actually garnered one vote. Nevertheless, this still apparently still placed her last on the list.
