This article contains spoilers for The Boys seasons 1-3 and Gen V season 1.
In the world of Prime Video’s The Boys, superheroes – or supes as they’re not-so-affectionately called – are a part of normal, everyday life. But these supes aren’t naturally born, they’re created by Vought Industry’s Compound V serum. Even though Vought does their best to control who does and does not become a supe, they don’t have control over how abilities manifest in people who take Compound V.
This leads to a wide variety of powers among the supes on the show, including those in the prestigious superhero group known as The Seven. With so many superpowered characters appearing in both large and small roles throughout the series, it can be hard to keep track of what exactly everyone can do. Here is a handy guide breaking down the powers of The Seven,...

Joining forces with Payback Entertainment, “American Gods” actress Yetide Badaki is developing a project titled “Naija Vamp” as both a TV series and comic book, Deadline reports.
Deadline’s report announces, “Naija Vamp is about a Nigerian vampire’s hunger for eternal love, beyond the flesh. It is described as an irreverent love letter to all those who have ever felt othered, wrapped in a blood-sucking coming-of-age self-discovery romp.”
“The story follows Bisi, who is turning 40 years old. Again. In fact, Bisi turned 40 many years ago when she became a vampire as part of her Nigerian undead family heritage. Struggling to find herself in the New World amidst navigating her family’s Old World vampiric expectations and unable to keep a partner for fear of eating them, Bisi’s (after)life has felt like one perpetual time loop she can’t quite escape. But this year is going to be different.

[This story contains spoilers for Top Gun: Maverick.]
Joseph Kosinski’s Top Gun: Maverick continues to break record after record, much like its titular character. The Top Gun sequel has now passed Avengers: Infinity War to become the sixth biggest domestic film of all time, and it currently ranks twelfth on the all-time worldwide box office list. It’s a staggering achievement, to say the least, for a sequel to Tony Scott’s 36-year-old film, especially since it doesn’t fit the profile of most record breakers today.
Naturally, when much of the population unites over a piece of pop culture like Maverick, fan theories are bound to emerge, and the leader of the pack revolved around the film’s opening sequence featuring the Darkstar hypersonic plane. The theory put forth the idea that Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) died after he eclipsed Mach 10 speed, making the...

Corrective Measures, an odd mix of action, prison, science fiction and monster movies, opens with a parking garage execution gone wrong as a band of goons led by what appears to be a werewolf are wiped out by the vigilante known as Payback just so he can have the pleasure of killing their intended victim himself before the cops arrest him. He’s sent to prison, but not just any prison, he’s going to San Tiburon which seems to be this world’s answer to the MCU’s Vault. Only it’s run by a private company and Warden Devlin is as corrupt as any of the inmates.

Splicing X-Men and Suicide Squad shouldn’t really work, but director Sean Patrick O’Reilly adds a subtle layer of social commentary to the comic-book schlock in a distinctive debut
Based on Grant Chastain’s graphic novel, Corrective Measures is an unabashed splicing of X-Men and Suicide Squad. Something so derivative really shouldn’t work, yet its setting, within the confines of San Tiburon – a maximum-security prison for inmates with superpowers – corrals the story into something close to a brassily characterised ensemble drama, while restricting the action to occasional raucous outbreaks. Presumably done for budget reasons, it winds up a more distinctive film than it otherwise might be, and is presided over by Michael Rooker – inexplicably wearing a straw boater throughout – as the arrogant and conniving Warden Devlin.
We enter San Tiburon along with Payback (Dan Payne), a Bible-bashing meathead whose mission in life is hunting down “enhanced humans”; superpowered genetic...

Want even more “Top Gun: Maverick?” Sure you do. The blockbuster is one of the best-reviewed movies of the year and is on pace to hit 1 billion at the box office globally, so how about a scene of Miles Teller wowing with both of his feet on the ground?
Paramount on Thursday released an extended scene from “Maverick” in which Miles Teller’s Rooster performs Jerry Lee Lewis’ “Great Balls of Fire” in full. The original “Top Gun” had Tom Cruise and Anthony Edwards performing a good helping of the song, but we only get a snippet of Teller doing the same in the new film as an homage to Edwards’ deceased character Goose.
The good news is, Teller can actually play the piano and is a solid singer as well, so best not to let that talent go to waste.

This article contains spoilers for The Boys Season 2 finale.
The Boys’ demented and thrilling second season opened up a can of Vought International worms by introducing Aya Cash’s fascist Stormfront, and revealing the company’s ties to Nazi experiments during WWII.
During a pivotal scene towards the end of the season, Stormfront opened up to Homelander, the current leader of The Seven, showing him her place in Vought’s history as Nazi founder Frederick Vought’s wife. Not only that, she confirmed that she was given the first successful dose of Compound V, turning her into a extremely powerful supe who had managed to outlive her own daughter.
In Season 3, we’ll dig deeper into the disturbing history of Vought with the introduction of Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy and his former team, Payback, who The Boys’ showrunner Eric Kripke notes were “The Seven before The Seven”.
