The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 4
The outsider is the easiest target for radicalization. That's a simple fact as old as anything. When you have a homogeneous community, particularly one that's been through a series of disasters that have served to bring them closer together, and introduce a couple of people who haven't, introduce outside pressure, and viola, an “us against them” mentality develops, with the us and the them easily spurred to violent action.
That's the brewing powder keg in “Silence The Whisperers,” a tense episode of The Walking Dead in which the redeemed Negan and the abused Lydia are forced to band together for mutual survival against a radicalized faction of Alexandrians led by the last surviving teenager Gage (Jackson Pace), Alex (Austin Freeman), and Margo.

[This story contains spoilers for season nine, episode 15 of AMC's The Walking Dead, "The Calm Before."]
The Walking Dead landscape weathered a significant shift in season nine's penultimate episode, and it's all thanks to Alpha (Samantha Morton), Queen of the Whisperers.
In the final moments of "The Calm Before," showrunner Angela Kang and her writing staff (especially the episode's credited writers Geraldine Inoa and Channing Powell) executed a highly anticipated moment from the Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard comic book series on which the show is based: the mass beheading of several ...

The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 15
As a general rule, I stand against expanded episodes. Unless it’s a cinematic quality show, and you're putting extra budget on screen, it never typically works out. Historically, that's never worked out for The Walking Dead, as it doesn't work out for most of the shows on Netflix. That was under the old regime. Under the new regime, the extra-long penultimate episode of Season 9 is a stellar exercise in taking a television show and making it look like an event.
To the credit of director Laura Belsey, she does just that. The cinematography seems to be turned up even more than usual, with a few little subtle shots—a particularly good, brief overhead shot of Carol,...

The Walking Dead has been losing viewers since the end of season 7, but should departed fans give the show another chance now?
It seems like so long ago. The fifth season debut of The Walking Dead, in which Carol leads a zombie army in an assault on Sanctuary, was watched by a staggering 17.29 million people in the United States alone. The show's seventh season bow, "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be," had the show's second-highest rating, despite the widely-mocked cliffhanger at the end of season six. Fans flocked to their televisions to find out just what beloved survivor Jeffrey Dean Morgan's over-the-top Negan bludgeoned to death with that barbed-wire bat. Since that orgy of skull-crushing violence, however, the ratings have joined the brains and blood of Glenn and Abraham, trickling away into the dust of television's new golden age.

Kelly Miller has joined Literate, A.B. Fischer and Dennis Kim’ television-focused boutique management and production company, as a manager. Miller moves to Literate from Paradigm, where she served as a theater-to-tv crossover agent.
The move to Literate is a return to management for Miller, who before her stint at Paradigm was a manager at The Shuman Company. It also reunites her with Fischer, with whom she worked at The Shuman Co., where Fischer was a Partner before leaving to form Literate in a year ago.
Miller will continue to focus on representing female, trans and diverse writers, as well as expanding Literate’s list of playwright clients who have crossed over into film and television including: Jihan Crowther (Man In the High Castle), Etan Frankel (Shameless), Andrew Hinderaker (Away), Robert Horn (Partners), Geraldine Inoa (The Walking Dead), Laura Jacqmin (Get Shorty), Kyle Jarrow (Valor), Mona Mansour, Daria Miyeko Marinelli, Laura Marks...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains details of tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead. Enter at your own risk.
“I think it’s going to be a full seven-course meal and people are going to be satisfied with it,” says Norman Reedus of Andrew Lincoln’s final parting from The Walking Dead in next week’s episode. Revealed months ago, the decision by Lincoln to leave the AMC series began its final stage tonight in what is the penultimate episode for the man who was and will always be #1 on Twd’s call sheet since the show debuted in 2010.
Ending with Lincoln’s Grimes literally trapped on a cement block with a potentially fatal metal pole through his side as a hoard of walkers were approaching down the road, tonight’s “The Obliged” episode was as much about the future of Twd as it was about setting up the end for its lead character.

Can the warrior and the farmer coexist in Rick Grimes' new world? The Walking Dead ventures to find out.

The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 4
One of the immediate improvements in The Walking Dead Season 9 has been the writing. It is only four episodes into the new season, and the dialog has shown marked improvement over the writing under the previous showrunner. At times, it's remarkable that it's even the same show; there's been so much more show than tell, and when telling is needed, things seem to make a lot more sense and to be expressed much more eloquently. Thus far, the highlight of that commitment to improved writing is “The Obliged,” in which most of the show is taken up with two characters having conversations. Unlike previous talky seasons, this time the exchanges carry weight, and have meaning.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains details of The Walking Dead’s October 21 episode.
Three episodes into Season 9 of The Walking Dead and things are in a high-wire state of flux, and we’re not just talking about how Andrew Lincoln will be leaving the AMC series based on Robert Kirkman’s zombie apocalypse comics come November 4.
On Sunday’s third episode “Warning Signs,” we learned that Lincoln’s Rick Grimes wants to have a baby with Danai Gurira‘s Michonne, and that the fragile peace that the former sheriff’s deputy has built among former enemies is starting to fray, to put it mildly. On the other hand, Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon and Lauren Cohan’s Maggie Rhee have taken a decidedly more ruthless ruling hand than Lincoln’s bridge-building Grimes, and the body count is rising, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan looking to be next.
