- Charles Adam Zimmerman was an accomplished composer and musician from Annapolis, Maryland. He was the organist at the Naval Academy Chapel. He was a lieutenant and had been bandmaster of the United States Naval Academy Band since 1887. About four years before his death, he was also made a lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.
