Tracy McGrath, who served as a physical production executive for such companies as Buena Vista Pictures, Miramax, CBS Films, New Regency, Amazon and Apple Films, has died. She was 65.
McGrath had lupus and died of other health complications two weekends ago in Los Angeles, an Apple executive said Thursday.
A native of Hollywood, McGrath started out as director of physical production and production finance for Disney’s Buena Vista Pictures in 1996, working on films including James Mangold’s Cop Land (1997), 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) and Wes Craven’s Music of the Heart (1999).
In 1999, she began a nine-year stint in physical production for Miramax/Dimension and The Weinstein Co, overseeing such movies as Gus Van Sant’s Good Will Hunting (1997), Bad Santa (2003) and Denzel Washington’s The Great Debaters (2007).

Women In Film, Los Angeles announced today that they have elected five new members to its Board of Directors. Syrinthia Studer, Andrea Nelson Meigs, Talitha Watkins, Vanessa Morrison and Tracy McGrath have joined the board of industry leaders who represent diverse aspects of the screen industries.
“The 2019 Board of Directors will bring valuable guidance to our organization’s programming and advocacy work,” said Wif Executive Director Kirsten Schaffer. “They share our commitment to the mission of enacting change to make the entertainment industry equitable for all women, in front of and behind the camera.”
Board President Amy Baer added, “With the election of these new members, the Board gains the invaluable expertise of five of our esteemed colleagues in the screen industries. Each has established herself as an influential figure in our industry, leading to an improved and expanded definition of how women are represented on-screen, off-screen, and in positions of corporate leadership.

Leslie Bibb, Ryan Kwanten and Amy Smart join Takashi Shimizu 7500 for CBS Tri join the film from The Grudge director Takashi Shimizu scripted by Craig Rosenberg, reports Variety. The thriller tells of a group of passengers who come across what looks like a supernatural force while on a transpacific flight. Kwanten and Smart will play a married couple accompanied by two long time pals who plan a trip to Japan and hop on Vista Pacific Flight 7500. Apparently Bibb will play a stewardess who is involved in a secretive, complicated relationship in the film which reunites Shimizu with Taka Ichise, producer of The Grudge.
