Albert C. Wilson

Albert Caleb "Whitey" Wilson was born 10 October 1891 in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of Ida and Albert J. Wilson. He served in World War I and was active in the military publication, "Stars and Stripes"; after the war, he worked for a magazine agency. He married Henriette E. Bergeyle and they had a daughter, France Marie, in 1919. From 1921 to 1932, he was a member of Hollywood American Legion Post 43 in Hollywood, California. Wilson was head of the property department at Warner Bros. Studios starting in 1936, and is credited as set decorator/designer for "The Jazz Singer" (1927), "I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang" (1932), "Mutiny on the Bounty" (1935), and "The Life of Emile Zola" (1937), among other productions. He died 17 May 1979 in Los Angeles, California and is buried in Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California in the Mausoleum of the Golden West, Sanctuary of Fidelity.
