Columbia, S.C. — The South Carolina Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned a settlement divvying up the multimillion-dollar estate of James Brown, saying a former attorney general didn't follow the late soul singer's wishes in putting together the deal.
Attorney General Henry McMaster brokered a settlement in 2009 that split Brown's estate, giving nearly half to a charitable trust, a quarter to his widow, Tomi Rae Hynie, and leaving the rest to be split among his adult children.
But the justices ruled that the deal ignored Brown's wishes for most of his money to go to charity. The court also ruled the Godfather of Soul was of sound mind when he made his will before dying of heart failure on Christmas Day 2006 at age 73.
The court sent the estate back to a lower court to be reconsidered.
The justices did agree with the lower court's decision to remove Brown's original trustees. Members...

Magic Mike screenwriter Reid Carolin says that he has a musical version of Magic Mike in the works, with eyes on Broadway. And Alex Pettyfer says that if it happens the movie cast should do opening night. There's an interactive element with the audience plugged in as well.
In the ongoing rhetoric surrounding GOProud's endorsement of Mitt Romney, Michael Musto called the group "Jewish Nazis" which while perhaps apt, is a loser because the rules of argument state that the first person to invoke the Nazis always loses. GOProud responded by calling Musto a "human Muppet" who should stick to entertainment and leave politics to the adults. Personally, I'd love to be a human Muppet.

The Archbishop of Canterbury has praised BBC sitcom Rev. The series focuses on a vicar, played by Tom Hollander, who works in an inner-city church. According to The Guardian, Dr. Rowan Williams has now described the show as "really rather good". "[It reveals] something about the continuing commitment of the church to run down and challenging areas," he said. "It also shows us someone who prays honestly." The Bishop of Buckingham, the Right Rev. Alan Wilson, also congratulated the series on his blog. "At last the BBC has moved beyond The Vicar of Dibley," he said. "It's a noble enterprise... Fortunately, Executive Producer Howard Gordon — like Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer — is a thick-skinned man who knows what he wants and makes no apologies.

"24" airs Monday nights at 9/8c on Fox Synopsis: Tony contacts "The Group," a collection of people who have to decide what to do with the final gas canister; Jack gets the FBI to reinstate the CTU server and needs Chloe to run it; Hodges having survived the suicide attempt may actually play into President Taylor's favor. Review: What a solid episode last night. The tension stayed high, the drama was invigorating, and new villains came into play. First off, Tony will be a great villain. I had my doubts at first. He's calm and collected, seemingly rational in his motives, and has made all the right moves so far. There we get a glimpse of a seemingly anonymous cadre of people who think they are doing the right...
