David Heyman is a busy man; in addition to boarding Quentin Tarantino's next film, the Harry Potter producer is adapting Andrea Levy's novel The Long Song into a high-end drama for BBC One. The Long Song, which tells the story of dying days of slavery in Jamaica, is produced by Heyman's Heyday Television, a joint venture with NBC Universal, and will be written by Sarah Williams, who co-wrote BBC One's Small Island with Paula Milne and ITV's Case Sensitive. The project had…...

Parents Carrie and Larry Carroll had a normal, happy family life with two children under the age of six and a third on the way. Then, on April 4, their world shattered. Larry went to wake up their 2-year-old daughter, Savannah. She wasn't breathing. "It was the worst day of our lives," Larry, 40, tells People. Comedian Joel McHale juggles a lot of different hats. He hosts "The Soup" on E! Network, stars on the TV hit "Community," acts in movies and is also the father of 2 young boys. "I have multiple jobs and multiple families and multiple wives and they’re all spread throughout Us and Canada, so I need energy to see those people. I need the mental sharpness and the physical energy to be able to support all those people," jokes Joel to Healthy Hollywood.
There's only one wife in Joel's life, his longtime love, Sarah Williams. But, between his time ...

It’s been almost 10 years since the first episode of Veronica Mars aired in the fall of 2004, and in that decade, a lot of the pretty young faces who traveled the halls of Neptune High have made names for themselves.
A few of those now-famous guests include Lone Ranger star Armie Hammer (season 3′s “Wichita Linebacker”) and Glee cheerleader Dianna Agron (season 3′s “President Evil” and “Weevils Wobble but They Don’t Go Down”), and there are plenty more. During the Entertainment Weekly cover shoot for the Veronica Mars movie, we put the cast to the test to see if...

Joel McHale has been happily married to Sarah Williams since 1996, but that hasn't stopped the Community actor from amassing a legion of gay fans. In fact, the father of two says he finds it "flattering" when people assume he's homosexual. "I always find it really weird when guys flip out over someone thinking they might be gay. If a guy gets offended by that, there's something's wrong with him," McHale tells The Advocate. "I take it as a compliment." McHale -- who jokes that he has crushes [...]...

Looking back, it’s difficult to believe that the cult classic “Labyrinth” was actually a failure at the box office. The movie was conceived after the release of “The Dark Crystal”, an earlier collaboration between Jim Henson and artist Brian Froud. Wanting to work on another project together, and taking inspiration once again from Froud’s artwork, “Labyrinth” was born. Influenced by such timeless tales as “Alice in Wonderland” and “Outside Over There”, “Labyrinth” tells the story of Sarah Williams (Jennifer Connolly), a teenage girl who won’t let go of her childhood. Forced to stay home and take care of her baby step-brother, Toby (Toby Froud), Sarah unwittingly wishes Toby be taken away by goblins. When Jareth, the Goblin King (David Bowie), obliges Sarah, she tries to take back her wish. But some things cannot be unsaid, and Sarah is forced to solve the labyrinth before Toby is changed into a goblin forever.

Ooh! Media has gone for the safer options in choosing the winners of its Mr Big competition, which invited media agency folk to submit pictures of themselves “doing something big” while holding an Ooh! banner.
There were no prizes for Omd’s Sarah Williams, who posed naked in front of the Sydney Opera House, or her Wa colleague Janine Gustavino, who posed naked on the toilet, or Initiative’s Robyn Li, who was pictured apparently masturbating.
The winners, who get dinner in New York with Sex in the City star Chris ‘Mr Big’ Noth, are Jessica Booth at Ikon, Mindshare’s Ben Burrett, Initiative’s Rebecca Paige, Jason Clark and Roisin Phelan at Mitchells, Hayley Richardson at Mec and Omd’s Olivia Geen.
The finalists were shortlisted based on “the creativity and relevance of their entry, likes and comments on facebook and also correctly answering the riddle that ‘big ads...

Grimoires share shelf-space with Gone With The Wind in Southern Gods, the debut novel by horror author John Hornor Jacobs. Accordingly, the book traffics in both human melodrama and inhuman horror. Half of it concerns Sarah Williams, a determined single mother in 1950s Arkansas who’s drawn to solve the secrets—familial and supernatural—hidden in her uncle’s library. The other half is a hardboiled detective yarn about Bull Ingram, a tough-as-nails World War II vet hired to track down a missing radio-promotion man. Too much of the book oozes by before its two protagonists intersect, and when they ...

Wonder what those limousines were doing in front of the Tivoli last week? It was the10th Annual St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase and congratulations to everyone who had a hand in the 65 films that were shown. The Cinema St. Louis event was held July 17-22 and focused exclusively on the works, both shorts and features, of St. Louis-based filmmakers, as well as expatriates with strong local connections who have gone on to work in other cities. A packed post-fest party was held at the Duck Room at Blueberry Hill Thursday night and awards were presented in various categories. It takes hard work and dedication to complete a film and every one of these St. Louis filmmakers involved is a winner. Here’s a list of what the judges at this year’s St.
